You'd win New Jersey if you moved the jets out of the Garden State or if you'd get our governor to move to Montana ...

How Many Chances Will They Get 7x77 ??
shoretalk replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just a side note ... the Jets and Giants new stadium is here in my adopted state of New Jersey not in New York City. Those are New Jersey state taxes supporting the roadways and transportation systems that make those two teams viable. I'll keep the Giants but wish the Jets were dumped off in a Staten Island landfill. -
I like Gailey, but what was he thinking
shoretalk replied to BillsLux's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok ... there is therapy available. Obviously, at the start of last season Chan had his 'sorting hat' on as he tried to figure out who would make up the future of the Bills. Trent had fooled plenty of us ... Marshawn might be up for a trade and that grandpa playing RT maybe he could do more than snore. On defense we had that kid from Penn State ... nah, no one was so stupid to think he had talent. I cannot be angry with the actions of either Gailey nor Nix for their first season here. They inherited a mess plus we continued to have more injuries than we deserved with both Wood and Bell still not completely recovered from 2009 injuries. This is the year that I want to see our offense jell and like many I hope to see some CJ mixed in even though I believe Jackson is the better starter. GO BILLS ... when's this deal going to be done? -
Great story ... yes, a simple act but heroic because all too many people wouldn't do it. To lessen what he did is again a sorry commentary on people who live on this board. If you stepped out to rescue a swimmer then kudo's to you too. Let's all take a deep breath when good stories get posted and refrain from having to be critical.

Schefter twittering deal in the works
shoretalk replied to richNjoisy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The joke is ... if they are that close why not finish it up this week or at least open up the camps. Frankly, I learned a long time ago not to trust those who tweet for a living. -
Wow this board can't even pause to remember someone globally respected for how he did his job and who never forgot his home town plus win or lose he never stopped being a Bills' fan. I will never understand those whose love of the negative always has them writing or saying something that is meant to tear down another,. This thread was a good reminder of a lost friend and there is absolutely no need to tarnish his memory or the success of his son,

You are right on ... I think Stevie has all the potential in the world and too many critics look at the Pittsburgh game to dismiss him but the squeaky wheel always gets the attention. How could Kyle Williams not make this list? We just need the real season to determine whose career is moving up and whose is just a mirage to those who are the dreamers of the world.

Great story ... would love for your daughter to remember how she met a Bills' superstar one day at Wal-Mart ... but his attitude towards you two is one that hopefully will never be tainted. I still want to see what he can do on the field .... if we ever have a season.

We have such a good group of young receivers (if there is a season) that Naaman's 'feel good' story from last year might end up seeing him in someone else's uniform. I don't recall having seen any stories about his workouts this off season, which is surprising, that might give us an indication about how he's stepping it up for year two. He showed he belongs in the NFL but with those you mentioned and the other receivers we have it will be hard to break into the 53.

If memory serves me right, the people of Minnesota just obligated themselves to build a palace for millionaires, which should keep the Vikings where they belong for the near future. I agree that it is a really good thing to not see our Bills in the top group of teams to move but if one of those teams move wouldn't someone be screaming for a team to move into their empty stadium?

You mean that's not the name???

Uh ... no, he is not going to miraculously turning into Paup. But, for those naysayers on the board ... Batten is one of the new style picks of the Bills in the Buddy era and right now it is way too early to determine if Buddy has it right or wrong but, as I have posted elsewhere, the college resumes of these new defensive players is far different from what we have seen in the past 15 years in relationship to their aggressive play, leadership, and intelligence. Batten looked good in the preseason and his college tape looks great but he has to take that winning attitude (You have to say something about these kids who did the film work while on IR) out onto the field. Right now I am looking at Merriman and Moats as our outside guys (Yes, hope springs eternal re: Merriman's health) but Batten on special teams and coming off the bench may be (let's see) a major improvement over who we have seen the last few years. By the way ... who is this Maybin character I keep reading about ... I do not recall any NFL player with that name (And, from his new physique ... I am not sure what position his body is built for).

The amazing thing about this board is how certain players are loved to a ridiculous level while others are ripped with consistency. POZ is an average linebacker who cannot cover anyone in pass coverage and who makes most of his tackles after runners have passed him by. Like all too many of the D players drafted over the last ten years he is not an aggressive player and seems unable to beat the blocks plus he is fragile. Yes, he sells a lot of jersey's ... yes, he's popular and a team player ... and yes, we need to sign him inspite of all the above weaknesses because we just don't have the bodies at ILB until our rookies mature and establish themselves as more than just good PR stories. When I read about this year's picks and look at last year's (Batten and Moats plus Coleman too) what I am seeing are players with a remarkedly different on-the-field attitude from POZ. These guys are aggressive ball hawks who are team leaders and intelligent. Although I haven't done it, yet, I'd love to compare game film of Moats and Poz from last year to see which of those two guys was moving towards the ball the most. I have a feeling that our rookie was the better player on the field most of the time. So ... don't toss out your POZ jersey yet ... keep showing him the love ... and maybe with our new front line POZ will be able to rise above mediocrity!

Could Plax be the final piece to our puzzle???
shoretalk replied to Buffalo Beeeews's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The wide receiver position does not need any additional investments. I am a fan of Namaan but fear he will lose out to the numbers and end up making some other team. Easley has a tremendous upside but the one who may end up being the receiver we talk about more and more (if there is ever a season) is David Nelson. As a rookie he showed a lot of promise to go along with his height. I can't wait to see this group out on the field now that our offense will have more opportunities thanks to the improving defense. -
Six teams turn down Hard Knocks. Who's next?
shoretalk replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No ... a thousand times no!! The Bills need to work on continuing the development of the team and not worry about where a camera might be. All this show does is encourage distraction with no positive benefits. I am not at all surprised that everyone is turning it down ... they should go visit a high school team ... -
The amazing Buffalo Bills' Naysayers ... now it's Fred Jackson's turn? I know that Kirwan is wrong but he seems focused on the number of 10 yard plus runs rather than overall play ... Jackson clearly belongs in at least group D, he is far better than Lynch in every aspect of his game, and if you take his blocking ability into consideration he might be edging even higher. He has a career 4.4 yards per carry and 8 yards per reception. 2009 1062 yards rushing with 46 receptions 2010, when he was behind Lynch to start the year 927 yards rushing plus 31 receptions He may not be a SUPERSTAR but to dismiss his abilities as some are doing already just proves once again that all too many posters just don't watch the game.

THANKS for the great video ... we need this season to get started!! Buddy and Chan's team is loaded with winners ...

Remember those replacements? Wait ... I do remember; this might be the time! Grabbing a couple of footballs and heading down to Delaware Park. I'm in good shape 5'10" 210 lbs ... Have more than one move, which is more than AM has ... this could be the year from the stands to the field!

The surgeries are yesterday's news but it is laughable that his dad has to track the phone calls and other conversations they have. Management is even more paranoid than I thought. "hey dad pass me a beer" "son don't you know I cannot use or hear that word when you are around?"

Smith contemplating permanent decertification
shoretalk replied to Fixxxer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What you said! If someone wants to work for a centrally organized employer even one with many outlets that are dependent on each other then that person must accept the assignments, salaries, and benefits established or negotiated by that employer and their employees. An example is the federal government. If someone graduating from college with a degree in government relations wants to work for the IRS or Social Security or another branch of the federal government they cannot negotiate with the local IRS office. They have to apply to work through the national IRS and then they will be assigned to a work location with a salary that is the same (with perhaps some locality adjustments) nationally. If they want to work for a State or local government then they do not get the benefits offered by the feds. To me it should be the same with NFL players. If they want to work/play for the NFL well then the NFL sets the rules and establishes where they can play because the league is truly one entity dependent on the interaction of its franchises. It is not 32 competing businesses because otherwise merchandise, rules, working conditions, etc. would have to differ. Target and Wal-Mart do not plan a Spring sale together and then rotate the shared location for the sale (Opening Sale Day at Wal-Mart and the Sunday Night Sale at Target with both stores selling their stuff.). If football players want the benefits of playing in the NFL then they have to follow the NFL rules and go where the NFL says they need to go for the benefit of the business (the NFL). If they don't like the NFL's work condtions they can go indoor league, CFL, or get a real job and play in some amateur league in the city of their choosing. -
Is there a link to the draft room video?

Oh my ... his speed or lack of running ability prevents him from being a safety but that body is not that of a DL nor of a LB ... looks like he has spent time on building a body that the muscle magazines would love but really doubting it will translate into anything new or better on the field. This kid just might not have the talent to make it in the NFL so I hope he has carefully invested the money he held out for because if he did then he'll be set for life.
