Too early ... take a deep breath and enjoy but I agree that he is something special. I have been following his TWEETS and this kid wants to win and be the best! Buddy is building a team of winners .... and hopefully will chase away the do-nothing whiners! If anything, Williams should elevate McKelvin's game ...

We gained ... Jacksonville got ripped off ... Poz, a quality guy, made out big time but there is no way the Bills should have paid him anywhere close to that and we got a better player for less money! Way to go Buddy!

Big time camp fodder with some Dolphin insights -
I was one of those .... faulty judgment ... thought he might be something ... don't recall saying we should cut Fitz but I thought Brohm would win the QB battle ....

THANKS!!!

The official Buffalo Bills' roster does not list a certain John McCargo on it. There has been no media reports of the team cutting him although the other day McCargo tweeted that discussions were happening. Has he been seen at camp? Did I just miss a report of his deletion from the team? Where Did My Johnny Go? And, do you think Maybin will be released before the end of preseason?

First day reports (Ok, they are just first day reports) have him pushing the line backwards when he has been in there. Starting the season with Edwards-Williams-Dareus/Merriman-Barnett-Davis-Moats works for me with Sheppard moving Davis out of the way by mid-season. Our depth on the line has Johnson-Troup-Jasper-Carrington-Kelsay, which isn't a bad group to have in reserve although I agree that if Jasper is the real thing the line of Williams-Jasper-Darues would be awesome! Our LB depth includes: Sheppard-Batten-Coleman-Torbor-White, which is a pretty decent line-up. Obviously it means left out to the curb is Mr. Maybin and Mr. McCargo (I just looked at the Bills 'official roster' and McCargo is not listed. Where is McCargo? Has anyone heard about the team making an official move with him? I know he Tweeted something earlier about discussions but I have not read any news report ... maybe he will be on a GR list tomorrow morning.

That cheap Ralph Wilson ... that stupid Buddy Nix ... picking up some wasted injured piece of garbage who has never played for a winner .... they definitely do not want to have a winning team in Buffalo.... Oh wait, that's what this board keeps chanting ... it appears to me that we have upgraded the middle of our linebacking corps over what Jacksonville now possesses. This would be a no-brainer trade POZ for BARNETT. Quality community guys ... one plays aggressively and is able to cover receivers coming out of the backfield while also mixing it up at the line of scrimmage while the other can chase down runners after they pass him and can count his many dollars in the contract he was overpaid with. WAY TO GO BUDDY ... Great team support from Nelson who took Barnett out to dinner last night ... Supportive fans were part of the mix so maybe just maybe THE TWELFTH MAN is back! This D is looking better and better ... the rookies are going to be a big part of an aggressive run stuffing, pass intercepting defense!

Can we PLEEEEEEEASE Sign Todd Heap or Z. Miller
shoretalk replied to Stussy109's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gailey knows offense and he uses the weapons he has. If you read any of his post season quotes from last year you can see that he was frustrated in his plans for Spiller but Gonzalez was an intricate part of Kansas City's offensive game plan with Coach Chan so don't discount his ability to game plan TE's into the overall scheme. However, with all the weapons we have to create a wide open offense, he might not be really worrying about a TE with Evans, Stevie, Roscoe, Nelson, Smith, Easley, Jones, and Namaan (I hope) on the roster. -
Eagles Sign Jenkins - release Bunkley
shoretalk replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sadly, living in EAGLES Country I am going to start having to hear how 'THE-BIRDS are going to go undefeated and have to listen to Merrill Reese, their play-by-play guy, worship each player and proclaim them all Pro-Bowl worthy (He may be the worst 'homer' I have ever had to listen to for any pro sports team.). There is a big question mark about how they are paying for all of these players with the cap but they are going to be really good in a division that is filled with weaknesses. As for Bukley, once again it proves that at least 10 teams every year make bone head picks and sadly during Donahoe's reign (And, Marv's) the Bills were right there. That being said, you have to be excited about this year's picks and most of last year's are going to be contributors and I hope Gailey has something planned for Spiller to show that wasn't a wasted pick. -
Can we PLEEEEEEEASE Sign Todd Heap or Z. Miller

Chandler is the mystery piece of this puzzle. None of us know a lot about him but his size and reputation are promising. That said, I'd have no complaint if we'd sign Miller. We are 'loaded' with quality wide-outs and that shows the promise of some exciting offensive football but I'd like to know we have a safety valve in a strong blocking tight end who can actually catch the ball down field and run with it. Chandler might be the answer. All the naysayers of this board need to remember that Gailey is offensive minded and he has his name on the line for its failings or successes. So, if we really need a tight end with the ones out there still available I think we'd be grabbing one. -
I think we may see Sheppard in there early this season ... but Barnett would be a really good pick up and now that Detroit is out of the picture ...

Can we PLEEEEEEEASE Sign Todd Heap or Z. Miller
shoretalk replied to Stussy109's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What is surprising and perhaps a dose of reality is that no team has rushed out to sign these TE's. Frankly, I thought Miller would be in somebody's camp by now. Since he isn't it makes me really think about his value because every team is sitting back. -
Once again the whining continues .... Poz was not worth the money! Poz cannot cover and cannot stop the run at the point of attack (But, he is a good looking, Polish kid, who is a positive asset for any community, and we should all wish him well now that he is obscenely overpaid!). Haynesworth is not yet in any kind of physical shape to even practice with the Patriots much less play for them, Haynesworth We have addded excitement to the offense with Brad Smith (Just read the Jets' fan websites where they are moaning about their losing him.). We were in the run for Claybo but he stayed home. We haven't even had an in-camp scrimmage yet but the naysayers think the pit has swallowed up the Bills. Don't forget we averaged more than 19 points a game last year with Fitz and a still recovering offensive line. And, take into consideration that he was not 'the guy' throughout preseason and the first couple of games. He enters this year full of confidence, swagger, and has the team behind him. We get Easley back ... our receivers are vastly improved (Would still love a quality tight end but ...). Jackson is our number one guy from the start but Gailey has plans for Spiller and Smith that will energize the offense too. The defense will be better ... So, stop whining ... check out the preseason and then watch the games ... Nix and Gailey know what they are doing but they had a huge hole to fill ... and are doing it quickly. Read the Tweets of our draft picks ... these guys are excited bout Buffalo and energized to win. Shepherd should do remarkable things at LB and Williams is going to make his mark in the defensive backfield ...

Frankly ... I like the line with my only doubt being at RT but Pears didn't look bad in his brief time here, is definitely an improvement over last year's starting RT. Those middle three can be really good if they stay healthy and Bell continues to improve plus he has body of a protype LT, which leaves us wondering about RT. Of course, most teams in the league have a question mark at at least one of their OL positions so the Bills aren't that different.

Honestly...why is everyone so upset???
shoretalk replied to zevo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sadly, we have continued to pay the price of Donahoe. He ripped and tore the franchise apart filling our roster with those who just couldn't play. All too many people cannot see the possibilities of this new regime because Chan and Buddy cannot turn around the failure overnight. But, unfortunately they are not seeing the pieces that are being put together and that's what it takes in the beginning a building process. These new Bills have an outstanding wide receiver corps that can compete with any other team's (Yes, I think Stevie is for real and I am an Easley fan but I loved what I saw from Nelson and Jones plus Roscoe finally has a coach who knows how to use him.). I think our offensive line is going to keep getting better and if you really look at the statistics for the second half of last season you can see their improvement over what we had to put up with for the first nine years of the new century. Got to love Fred Jackson and we'll see if Spiller was a mistake (No, he didn't come in and win every rookie award but he was a rookie with potential so let's see if he ends up like Maybin or with a year under everyone's belt we will figure out how to use him.). Brad Smith just adds lots of dimension to the offense and I love Fitz' attitude, a gunslinger whose team is behind him and they all want to win! So, we lost Poz who can't cover receivers and never was a factor at the line of scrimmage. All those tackles came from chasing down opponents and I will gladly entrust that Shepard can at least match that. Our defensive line will be ten times better than last year, which means our defensive backfield will have more opportunity to make plays rather than worrying about the run. Plus, this new 'D' will get the ball back quicker than last year's giving the offense that put up more than 19 points a game a chance to put more up. So, get excited about where we are heading ... yes, we lost out on Clabo but we were in the game for him. We are moving forward ... good things are ahead of us! -
Poor Rex poor poor Rex ... Now if their owner wasn't so cheap!

Well, last year (the first year with Chan) when Fitz did not go into the season as the starting QB and when Fred Jackson did not go into the season as the starting RB and when we were still sorting out our receivers and both Wood and Bell were not 100% and we had a grandpa playing RT and then a series of rotating RT's ... the Bills averaged almost 20 points a game with Fitz' starting. So, if you add the benefits of Fitz as the starter from Day one, Jackson as the starter from Day one, an improved receiving corps plus a healthy Bell and Wood the only thing we can do is improve. If we get a solid TE or is Smith proves to be something special ... then there are more points on the offensive side. Plus with an improved defense from last year the offense will get the ball back with greater frequency so that gives them more opportunities to score. And, so ... hopefully not 70 point games but a Gailey coached offense definitely can put up 25 points most weeks. Chan does not have to reinvent himself ... he is always recognized for his offensive abilities.

The lack of pressure up front allowed quarterbacks to throw mid-range passes, which the likes of Poz were unable to defense, and our opponents' running game ran all over the front seven so our defensive backfield could not shine because they were in moving up in run support. A few of his 2009 interceptions were lucky but his game improved throughout last year after a poor start, which may have also been injury related. Can't wait for this season to begin ... the offense is going to be exciting and the defense is going to get the ball back more quickly!
-
That Ralph Wilson always is last in paying his draft picks ... if he was dead we would have signed Dareus before now!
-
Smith is a specialty act! Evans is with us for one more year until we see how Easley, Stevie, Nelson, and Jones develop. Bye bye Paul Hubbard ... Feels good to have quality depth at one position ...

[closed]Tyson Clabo resigns with Falcons
shoretalk replied to Rippedcity's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's clear we put up a good fight to get him. Credit to Buddy and front office! Now let's get a tight end and/or ILB! -
Having watched the Andrews show in Philly there is one simple answer NO! Shawn would be ok but Stacey is a pox on whatever house gets him ... We do not need a guard in this market.

Bills interested in OT Tyson Clabo

Purely a RT and really wondering who would switch a Pro-Bowl player to another position. Bell is fine at LT and improving!
