  1. WOW .... I so want to see some game film now!! This guy could very well be the steal of the day ... a Pat Williams with movement! GREAT DRAFT ... now let's see who we pick up off the street!
  2. Brohm has been released ... he's down in Louisville coordinating University of Louisville parties.
  3. The classless ones are doing it again. For all of his faults, Whitner has been a true Buffalo cheerleader and he didn't decide that he was worth the #8 pick. His talent just isn't at an Pro-Bowl level but we all know he'll be starting in September somewhere in the league so he isn't that bad either. Our fan base just seems to want to kick someone ... I say thanks Donte for your character and if you are still a Bill this fall then I hope the new defense allows you to play to a higher level.
  4. By stopping the run ... playing better defense and getting the ball baci to the offense we immediately improve the offense. The biggest problem with our offense is the fact that the opposing defense gets to rest while their offense battered our D. Nix and Chan have taken major steps with this draft to change things ... with our receiving corps (yea, I know ... why didn't we pick a TE) and Freddie plus I believe a rejeuvenated Spiller ... I think the offense will be just fine under Fitz!
  5. Oh no ... time to get the GR Whiner Squad out! By the way on Monday from 4-6 can we list our favorite parts of the Royal wedding because you know the guys at GR stopped paying attention to the draft after reading Friday's Buffalo News! How could we even consider picking #126 early???
  6. But I do understand that they have a female cousin who might be interested in the JILLS since some feel it is so important to have a Matthews on the team ...
  7. All too many posters who allegedly are fans of the Bills amaze me with their negativity. We have just drafted a hard hitting leader who may finally give us a safety who can cover tight ends! How many middle of the road tight ends have caught third down passes and easily gained first downs because Bills players couldn't cover? This draft continues to impress and we are getting a good picture of the leaders with motors that Nix and Gailey Go Bills!!!
  8. My thread is still stuck in the spool
  9. Heading into the 2010 season and even this last year I kept thinking Mallett could be the answer. What an awesome arm ... but then the reality started to clear up the vision of this kid. He has a great arm but whatever is clouding his head really makes him a real risk at Round 1 or 2. If the head is cleared and he learns to play while under pressure then some team will be really lucky but if he crumbles each time someone gets in his face then his future is either as a 'could have been' or as a CFL qb who sometimes gets headlines with the Argo's. Here's a good link about his 'character' issues and talent level, http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Drug-rumors-surrounding-Ryan-Mallett.html
  10. WE did not throw any of OUR money away for Merriman. The Bills after evaluating his physical status felt it was worth the risk to sign him before another team signed him and if he can play at even 3/4 of his former self then it will be a Bills' coup. If he doesn't play then most of the money that does not come from OUR pockets will not get paid from Ralph Wilson's funds either. I get so irritated when this board screams for every reject from other teams and here we sign someone who if healthy will help the team. Is it possible that we had the inside track because of Buddy Nix ... sure looks like it. Is Merriman being the good team citizen? Yes, he is. Are there any reasons to be ticked off that we signed him ... it didn't prevent the Bills from taking other actions related to available players. It only seems that those who are mad are those who think that their last spare change for Starbucks was used to sign him. I say GO BILLS ... and would love to see LIGHTS OUT terrorizing the opposition because if he does then those shirts will move ...
  11. We need a run stopper first and foremost ... there is no doubt that Miller has been able to sack the quarterback using his speed in college but he has no forced fumbles and only one interception. Plus, he is one of the possible early picks who I actually watched and I am disturbed how he jogs his way in plays that are not going to get him on the highlight reel plus he seems to avoid putting himself in front of running backs at the line of scrimmage. Reminds me a lot of Poz ... chases runners down after they pick up 5-10 yards. Somehow I just don't think we need to waste this special pick on a specialist ... give me Fairly or Dareus or even Quinn because they can fill our greatest need of a run stopper up on the line.
  12. You are so right ... the NFL is all about being the 'NO FUN LEAGUE' and it very carefully orchestrates what its teams can do and obviously has even stopped players from celebrating or being individuals. All we are ever going to get from Bills' management is 'be glad you have a team' and you 'better support us!' That being said, what we are witnessing with the Sabres is totally unique to today's professional sports teams! Buffalo is so incredibly lucky to have this new ownership group that has been created from a group of fans versus egotists or moneymen. Down here in South Jersey I am celebrating the Buffalo and the Buffalo Sabres!!! We are the envy of all sports cities with this ownership. But, I will give the Bills some credit .... every year for as long as I can remember, Ralph has brought back alumni of the team to participate on field with the posting of the newest member of the Wall of Fame! We have seen players out there on the turf of THE RALPH from the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's! There is something about going full circle with history ... I look at my most recent Bills' jersey (a Moulds) and it is this awful shade of blue with 'nickle' grey ... and I do own a Sabres' slug and goat's head jersey too ... but the Sabres are back with jersey's that carry some rich tradition ... maybe the new Bills' jersey we are promised can be a start ... But, I would love to see a Bills' exec go live for a 3 hour chat like Black did the other night ... you could tell he was for real, a fan and dedicated to winning the Cup. I fear that any of the Bills' exec's could be closed mouthed ... full of pretense and illusion and hung up on not doing all it takes to get us back to the Lombardi trophy. We can only hope and dream ... maybe Kelly really has a group of investors ... maybe the Bills and Sabres can walk hand in hand to establish what sports' franchises should do rather than just bleeding fans and communities dry. But, what we need to hear from Ralph and Russ is that #1 The Bills are not going anywhere (sign the legal paperwork that locks them in for another 25-50 years) because this is Buffalo's team AND #2 The
  13. Sure hope he is good at stopping the run ... because that is what we need ... a run stopper!!!!
  14. Being down here in South Jersey ... there is now way Kolb would go in the top ten of this year's draft. I definitely like Fitz better than Kolb ... now if the Eagles tossed in next year's #1 pick too plus all the above then I just might say go for it and let Kolb be our back-up.
  15. So many on this board and Mel Kiiper so loved him ... I think we should trade our #1 for him! He is the can't miss ... superstar ... Super Bowl leader of the future ... he was meant to be a Buffalo Bill!!! Just because he is so awful that QB may be how Carolina picks should have no bearing on this no-brainer and then we won't have to debate whether we go DL or waste the pick on lazy Von Miller. Let's make the trade ... do it today! For the future of the team!!! Give up #1 for Jimmy Boy!
  16. You paid how much? I am going to wait until the Bills have their new colors and football is being played before I spend any more on merch..
  17. Got to love the MAYBE man ... GO AARON; there must be a place for you somewhere!
  18. I want SHANNY!!!!! Something is terribly wrong with the Bills that we couldn't get him ... now I really really want him! And, his little boy toto too ....
  19. You have to read the complete article ... here's the quote that you can find on the link ... "The Daily News first reported the moves and also reported veteran defensive end Jason Taylor(notes), who signed with the Jets before last season, and 2009 first-round draft choice Vernon Gholston(notes) will be let go by the team By parting ways with the four players, the Jets could save about $10 million dollars."
  20. Well, it seems that the Bills are not the only team that royally screwed up their number one pick in 2008. And to think they had a shot at drafting so many other PRO BOWL players but chose Vern Gholston in the number six slot. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-jets-woody How many of you think we should grab GHOLSTON after all he was picked #6 in the draft by a playoff team ... they must know what they are doing when they draft. Ohio State products never fail ... he just needs to play somewhere closer to home, Detroit. In his career so far he has at least ten times more tackles than Maybin has ... let's go get him!!!
  21. Without a pass rush ... without strength at the DE's and OLB's you are not going to get production out of the DB's. Is Peterson worth a #3 pick ... of course he is. He is worth a #2 pick yes but the Bills needs are clear ... sTOP THE RUN rush the passer. If we get better upfront then our pass coverage will improve but frankly that is not a weakness of this team ... so the Bills should pass him by.
  22. Just remember that Fox is the news network that puts video into their news that is not part of the story to enhance their viewpoint on the story. I always take anything with the FOX name as being subject to errors ... so I am not surprised.
  23. Premier??? He may have the tools to become an average player if he ever applies himself but after watching him disappear for two years and not even make a play on Special Teams ... I cannot imagine him ever becoming a regular you can count on. In my mind he has one more preseason to prove his abilities otherwise he'll ride the bench into obscurity.
  24. Frankly the Bulldog has had his day ... dogs age 7 times faster than humans and neither he nor Schopp are worth listening to, which is a shame because there are a lot of Buffalo fans around the country like me who would love to hear a quality Buffalo sports radio talk show online. But Bulldog loves his little lists just like Schopp does and neither contributes any knowledge or insight or even entertaining commentary into the Buffalo sports scene.
  25. I have never figured out Mahar's popularlity ... 'smarmy' is probably a perfect word (non-word) for him. Yes, Larry David brings a lot of funny stuff to the table ... I could care less about entertainers political views and whether they are right wing fools or liberal ... because they are entertainers I want them to be good at what they do.
