Question WRT The Spiller Selection
High Mark replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To answer your question directly, in the order which they ended up being drafted (not me ranking them) I think that Brandon Graham, Iupati, Pouncy, Bulaga, and even Dez Briant were better options at the time. However, I think that the best option was not a player but a trade. Nix was quoted saying they got trade offers, but didnt take them. Well I dont know what those trade offers where, but I would have moved back for sure. After all, BPA can also mean Best PlayerS Available. If I were to have stayed at 9, I would have either taken Bulaga, or maybe taken a flyer on Tebow. I think that there were a lot of better options. After all, the idea of BPA is tied hand in hand with value. Is CJ Spiller really 21 picks better than Javid Best - who was picked at 30? If you want to use the draft vale trade chart to see the difference in value, thats a difference equivalent to the 25th pick in the first round, or 2 mid second round picks. I personally dont think Spiller is any better a running back than Best. Better punt returner yes, but better back no. With those aforementioned picks we could have added Tebow/Dan Williams/Jerry Hughes or Cody and Brandon Spikes. I am NOT saying that is a realistic scenario, Im just trying to put it into perspective. But moving back the Bills could have positioned themselves to add any of the 3 OL I listed, by moving back 10ish picks and taking the guy that fell, and adding another 2nd or thirds or anything. I think a 100% realistic scenario could have been dropping back, picking up an early 3rd or late 2nd, and adding Bulaga and John Jerry. That gives us an OL. Jerry starts a G, Wood at C once healthy, Bulaga at LT and Green at RT. If Bulaga cant hack it at LT he can be the best RT in the league once Green is gone in 2 years and we can at another LT. Lynch and Jackson running behind that OL gives us a better running game that Spiller/Lynch/Jackson behind Bell/Merideth and Hangartner -
Question WRT The Spiller Selection
High Mark replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its hard to field offers when you make your selection after 3.25 secnds. Thats why they give you ten minutes.... And maybe its just me, but I dont believe Spiller was the BPA at all. Maybe he was the top player on the Blls board, but as the past 10+ draft show, that rarely means he is truely the BPA (Ngata/Mangold/Clady, the list is endless). Me personally, I dont think he was the best player on the board when we selected, by a not so small margin too. Therefore it would be hypocritcal of me to think that the Bills drafting strategy was purely BPA. I think they 100% went with Ralph as his post draft comments were somethign like "We needed some excitment. We havent been exciting in a while, which is why we added Spiller" I paraphrased, but that was his point. Sounds more like a ticket seller than anythign to me. But again, maybe its just me... -

Sanchez on Bush, "sometimes kids want to take"
High Mark replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well I simplified it, but the agent was/is rich. And besided, how does that change my point? A guy with money donated it to people without money. Whats the problem with that? -
My Boss here at work missed yesterday with a rehearsel dinner, and today for the wedding. They do have weddings on Fridays these days. People need a reason to hate Lynch and anythign will do.

Sanchez on Bush, "sometimes kids want to take"
High Mark replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok, so let me get this straight. A poor black kid from the inner city, becomes a big time football player, brings in millions upon millions of dollars to USC, the PAC 10, college football, and the NCAA, which benifits countless other college athletic programs across the country. Then some really rich alum, wants to donate a house to his mom, and give away other goodies to some kids on the team. I struggle to see any wrong in this. How is it any different than the school giving him a scholarship or that rich man donating to habitat for humanity? So a rich guy is gonna give a house to a poor person.... QUICK ARREST EVERYONE AND PUNISH THEM!!!!! TAKE AWAY WINS, TAKE AWAY THE HEISMAN!!!!! -
SO when did we get the offensive line? Or are we gonna add that for 2011, then play out 2012, draft a QB for 2013, then hopefully in his second season - 2014 - we make the playffs!!!!! If that were that case - hoping to make the playoffs in year 5 with a second year QB - then I think Buddy Chan will be shown the door before we get to 5 years. We had amazing opportunities this offseason to add a QB (McNabb/Tebow or Clausen rd 1/Clausen rd2 among others) and the Bills passed. I have to assume that Buddy Chan is happy withthe current crop of QBs and willing to bet their careers on them.

In terms of football ability, I think think Lynch is the ebst back on the team. He is at times hesitant while running, and gets met in the backfield, btu I blame that on the horrible excuse for an OL not opening any holes. Jackson, IMO, just knifes in a small crease and falls down for an extra yard or two and occasionally slipps through for a nice gain, while Lynch is trying to find the hole that should have been there but isnt and gets stuffed. When taking on tacklers and juking/breaking them Lynch is hands down better. Short yardage he is tougher to stop. Catching passes out of the backfield he sucks, but Jackson sucks in pass protection. Lynch doesnt have break away speed but neither does Jackson. They are both good. If our OL wasbetter I think it would ironically allow Lynches talents to be more visible. He reads his blocks well and is patient to a fault, which hurts him because no hole ever opens up. As funny as it sounds I think the bad OL makes Jackson look better than Lynch, and a better OL would benifit Lynchs production moreso than Jacksons. Thats just my 2 cents. PS I never expect Spiller to replace Lynch or Jackson. I dont think he will ever play the role of every down back. Thats is 100% based off of his college career and talents, NOT HIS SIZE.

I will never understand what made the talking heads at ESPM anoint Derrel Revis the "Best Cornerback in the NFL" Aside from the fact he had the best pass rush in the NFL infront of him this season, what makes him so good? I have seen a lot of his games and I think McGee has played better for us with 1/3 the pass rush.

Ravens SHOULD seek trade with Buffalo
High Mark replied to sllib olaffub's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Doesnt McGee still have a huge shoulder issue? I think its all sorts of messed up, and last I heard it wasnt going to be a suprise to see him on the PUP list to start the season. In one of the videos on BB.com - the one where we found out they removed the flat screens from the weight room - they had McGee doing a one arm db bench with his other arm down against his chest. You could tell by how he had it it was still messed up. I think that was back in March? They may want a CB, but they wont want an injured CB. Donte would be a good option bc Reed is on the oler side and may misss games with injury. -
Lets trade Spiller tp the Pats for Mankins Our running game would be better with Lynch/Jackson behind Mankins than Spiller/Lynch/Jackson behind Hangartner I am serious in the sense that I would love that trade and joking in the sense that it would ever happen.

I said that its safe to assume that Jackson or Spiller or both will miss at least some time with injury. Im sure that will happen. I said nothing about size. I was refering to his skill set and style of play. Thats why Spiller is going to be a gimmick back/slot reciever.
-
Ill bet my money on Lynch being a horse at the end of the season and will finish the season as the back with most rushing yards. Jackson or Spiller or both will miss some time with injury. Spiller will be a gimmick back/slot reciever and not some Chris Johnson everyone is hoping for. My bet is 30 yr old jackson gets worn down and Lynch will come beast mode on everyone. He will definately lead the team in rushing TDs. I am not sure why so many hate him all of a sudden, but how many 1st round running backs will this team have to chew up and spit out before they realise not to draft 1st round running backs?

I found the links I was looking for. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years...lisberger5.html These a scanned copies of the original police reports. And because I know most of you wont click the links to read them... "I was approached by the complaintant in front of Buffingtons. She advised me that while in capitol city, she was sexually assaulted or Sexually manipulated by the suspect around 1:30 hours. She stated that one of the suspects podyguards escorted her to a back room/Hallway area where the suspect was. Once there she stated the suspect asked her for sex. At this time it is unclear to what happend after this point due to the complainants recollection being foggy from her intoxication level. However she did write a statement of what she thought happened." I bolded the important part. The written statements he is talking about can be viewed here. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years...r1.html#theLink You will have to click ahead to page two, but in the report written by the "victim" she writes, "he had sex with me" after her statements of "this is not ok". Maybe the foggy part was her agreeing to boneing him? Who knows, but to take any of this as fact would be a mistake because she was too drunk to even remember what exactly happened! Who knows what happended, but I dont think he raped her.
-
The police statement I read after the report was released quoted the "victim" saying something along the lines of "Ben and I went into the back room, I said 'this is not ok' he said, 'it will be alright' then we had sex" (i searched the archives but couldnt find it... i got the link from a thread on this site) She doesnt say "then I told him it was ok to have sex with me" but be realistic and think about it. Havent you ever tried to bring a girl home? If she said no, didnt you try to convice her? If she changes her mind and goes home with you, did you just rape her because her first reaction was no? I can see this girl going "I dont know about this" Ben- "Please please please please please!!!" Girl - "Ok lets do it" If she ended her statement to police with "then he raped me" I would view this differently. But she ended it "then we had sex" Maybe its just me but, we had sex = consensual. he raped me = Not consensual.

New QB possibility? Free agent to be
High Mark replied to BoozeCruise's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I still dont knwo why they didnt try to trade for Quinn in the first place. Wasnt it a 5th in 2010 and a 6th in 2011? Thats a small price for a good Qb who never got a fair shot in Cleveland. When I watched Cle games, I saw a whole lot of problems (just like our Bills unfortunately) but I never thought Quinn was one of them. If he is not on the actiev roster, does that mean he is on the PS? How often can a guy just be inactive? That would be wonderful to grad him for nothing. -
Dude, they did it in the bathroom of a packed night clud and aparently the door was open with bodyguards all around. The LAST thing that comes to my mind is "this is not ok" - to have sex with me How about: "this is not ok" - to have sex in this gross bathroom, do me in your limo "this is not ok" - to have your bodyguards around, can you make them leave "this is not ok" - to have the door wide open, I want to bone in private "this is not ok" - all my friends are around, and they will think Im a slut if we do it here, then I will claim you raped me afterwards to avoid the shame of doing it in thie gross bathroom, with all your bodyguards watching, and the door wide open! So if someone FALSELY claims that they were raped by him, he is a predatory rapist? That NEVADA incident has been 100% debunked by the more than 10 eye witnesses who came forward stating the McNaulty bragged about knockin boots with Big Ben for weeks after it happened. Now all of a sudden she turns it to rape because he didnt call.....

CJ SPILLER( Hard not to like)
High Mark replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
SEE!!! Even Spiller knows its all about the OL!!! I am serious though. -
So am I. Last I checked Lynch has every right to own 2 puppies of whatever dog he chooses, and will be bound by the same laws regarding those animals every else on his block is bound by. What about that scenario makes it "All about him"

Girls lie. Big Ben is innocent. Get over it.

Why doesnt the Big 12 just add a school? Nebraska is not the power it once was, and in todays day and age going to the Big 10 is a downgrade IMO. (Football at least) But why would the Big 12 fall apart? Just add two teams and be the Big 12. Loosing Colorado is almost a blessing to the Big 12, try like hell to add ND, that prob wont work but there are hundreds of schools that could join that conference. Add TCU, BYU, New Mexico, Loisville, UTah, or Houston - all of those teams are just as good as Colorado has been recently, and would be fine additions to the conference in football at least. They would all die for the opportunity too.
