Lets Cheer Marshawn onto a Probowl this season......
High Mark replied to BillsRUs's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wont be suprised if he has the most yards by seasons end. Spiller will get his touches other ways, and I see Marshawn producing more than Jackson. JMO -
So last night my buddy calls me from Seneca Niagra Casino. He said he was standin at one of the gameing tables and this big black guy comes over and is betting next to him. My friend is complaining that the Bills didnt add a T at the top of the draft. He then goes to the big black guy and says "Yo, you are huge, you should play for the Bills - they suck" Big Black Guy says "Me? I couldn't play for the Bills" Friend does a double take then says "Wait a minute...You are John McCargo!!!!" Black man says "Yes I am John McCargo" So whats the joke.... Even McCargo knows he couldb't play for the Bills!

you have it wrong. Jocob ford from CLemson ran the 4.27, Spiller ran a 4.37 I believe.

I share your perspective. I was getting reemed in the shout box when I stated Dwyer with a 6th round pick was a better direction to go than a top 10 Pick on Spiller. People can use cliche words like "gamebreaker" as much as they want, but he wont get us to the next level. Not with guys like DBell and Hangartner starting for the OL. RB is the most over hyped position in football. Any bumb thats quick and doesnt fumble is good enough to win a superbowl. RBs dont belong at the top of the first round, period. Not when your team has holes like ours does. Marion Barber/frank Gore/Tashard CHoice/Brian Westbrook/Jammal Charles/Shaun Alexander/Brandon Jacobs/Derrick Ward/Pierre Thomas/Willie Parker/Jason Fargas/Michael Bush... can I stop now? No position has a shorter career expectancy than RB. By the time his rookie contract will be up he will more than likely be over the hill and cut. The OL and the pass rushers we passed on will be in their prime and still producing. Meanwhile we have been building a Madden roster with our 1st round picks and not a true football team. Spiller will bring some big time plays, but he wont bring many more wins. TO didnt help a team without an OL or QB, and neither will a RB who is not a true 3 down back.

Mel Kiper gives the Bills a C-plus for Spiller
High Mark replied to LGB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kiper really hated our second rnd pick, which he brought up a bunch of times throughout the draft. An interesteding side note though, is troup changed his name from Johnson to Troup...maybe thats why we never heard of him? http://www.draftcountdown.com/ScoutingRepo...rrell-Troup.php -
I still think Bulaga was worth the pick. He fell but so did Oher. Just because he fell doesnt mean he was not worth the pick. No on would say now the Oher is a reach at 11... I bet we say the same thing about Bulaga next off season. On top of that im sure we could of moved down after seeing all the trades that happened, and still landed Bulaga. Wang and the other better be able to hold up, or our O aint going anywhere.

While Spiller is a good player, I dont think he was the right choice for our team. The impact of a top T goes un-noticed to the average fan but it would translate to a better running and passing game. The top 10 is not where RBs belong if they are going to go to a team like this Buffalo team. Their careers are short lived because of the nature of the position. A T could play for 15 years at a PB level, a RB one third of that. What scares me about Spiller is he is a RB whose best attribute is his return abilities, not his RB abilities. People love his pass catching abilities too, and he is a mis match for any LB. But not once has his between the tackles ability been praised...Im not convinced he can carry a full time load, or a complete RB. Once more he wont even be asked to be a complete RB... so now our top 10 RB will be splitting carries with two other guys and cant do it all? Im not too happy with this....

and also from his 1-3 rd grades Buffalo: This is why Buffalo picks in the top 12 every year. Torrell Troup isn't ready to start. Alex Carrington is a bit of a project. They drafted a situational running back when they don't have much of an offensive line or nose tackle. How many games is Buffalo going to win with Ryan Fitzpatrick, Brian Brohm and Trent Edwards? This draft was an absolute joke and this team isn't going anywhere. I encourage all Buffalo fans to riot at Bills headquarters tomorrow. This was a pathetic performance and we will see over the next two years why it was such a terrible draft. Spiller's occasional playmaking ability saves this from an "F" grade. Grade: D-

FWIW, not everyone is buying the "Spiller is a great every down RB" gig. http://walterfootball.com/mattblog100423_grades.php 9. BUF: C.J. Spiller - C You don't draft a No. 2 back this high. Spiller can't handle the load and is a finesse runner. This is way too high and Buffalo passed on some really good football players on the board. Now I realise he is only a internet blogger and all, and I dont always agree with walterfootball, but I do in this case.

One thing was clear during this draft
High Mark replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think its dumb to not at least explore trade options for a min or two. Its not like those players were going to be taken by someone else if we didnt sprint to the podium... -
great post.
-
How many kick returners does it take to make the playoffs? .... the Bills will let you know... if they ever get there....
-
Get a clue man. Lynch is only gone if we force him out. Spiller is not the most dynamic player in this draft. I watch college football, and its a different game than the NFL. SPiller is a punt returner.

Ralphie just said that "Denver panicked"
High Mark replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That explains the Bills cellar dwelling right there. Meddling owner drafting who HE THINKs is the best player in the draft, when in reality he isnt even the best RB. What a joke. Hey Ralph, ever wonder why the Bills NEVER WIN? -
charles davis......lol...........
High Mark replied to marauderswr80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No he owes us one because we actually took him -
I will defend you man you are spot on. College and the NFL are different and Spiller is not a 3 down back. His role will be similiar to the one Reggies Bush has, which is primarily gimmick player/kpunt returner.

Spiller to replace Jackson not Lynch
High Mark replied to Chris in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jackson can run between the tackles. -
A Denver Broncos fan view of Tebow
High Mark replied to RLflutie7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you didnt watch any workouts since, his release is near perfect now. Will it hold up in a game situation? Maybe not. But he has improved it and it will get even better. PS I think its being overl looked that the Broncos/Bills were trying to trade in front of the Cards. They would have picked Tebow maybe... -
We didnt draft either. We didnt have a need a kick returner, and kick returners should not be drafted in the top 10. Spiller is not a three down NFL running back - he is a gimmick player. Out of the 22 field players, only FB is less important that tailback. We just drafted a guy whos primary role is kick returner and whose position holds littel value on a football team. The Bills made their pick in like 1 minute. They didnt try to trade back - which they could have down seeing all the trading that went on - and they could have gotten Spiller later on. Then they try to trade up later in the draft... with what? We dont have any extra picks as ammo. Of Coarse Denver is going to win out when they actually have picks to draft. Dummer than a bag of hammers. I am speechless.
-
Dexter McCluster We still have a bunch of idiots running this team, so its very likely.
-
I said it before and I will say it again. At the end of the day (ie their careers) Tebow will be better than Clausen and Bradford. We missed out on a once in a lifetime player today.
-
Same thing you said about Maybin Spiller is not some superstar waiting to explode. He is a kick returner with no true position. He doesnt run between the tackles and best attribute is as a pass catcher. Some RB. Just another Gimmick player to Buffalo. Great.
-
You like Spiller and are worried about Tebow? Dont you have that backwards?
