Well I have to agree. The Spiller pick just SCREAMS Ralph made the decision. How is that pick any different than all the other gimmick type picks this team has made for years? the quote from Ralh after the draft really was the icing on the cake too. I will para phrase "We haven't been exciting in years. Thats why we got Spiller. I think he was the most exciting player in the draft, so we had to add him to add some excitement" You know what is exciting Ralph? WINS. SACKS> PANCAKE BLOCKS AND WINS. Sure 2-3 punt/kick returns a year will be pretty exciting, but please.... Now the 2nd round on - we had direction. It was clearly beef up and take care of the front 7. Hopefully next year we figure out that the offensive line is also important. Later maybe Brown can play QB, or we will realise we still need a viable QB. But Spiller, Spiller was 100% a Ralph move. Thats not direction...

So he couldnt win with sub-par talent in college, but he is going to be able to in the NFL? He wasnt even successful in the NFL. Thats why he was never kept around. You dont become a guy no one wants around by doing you job too well.

So what if he pops some pills. Vicodin is basically a brand name hydrocodone - which is available over the counter in Canada (im fairly sure) and I would assume most other countries. It seems like a big deal to us Americans because its an RX drug, but in Canada they are used more like Advil/ibuprofen. I guess being addicted would be one thing, but considering he just coached the SB winning team, Id say his drug use is not a problem for him.

I dont know why everyone is assuming Fitz is going to make the team. He has the least to offer and has the steapest price tag. Axed.

I dont see Jax being that bad at all. You can count on one team having a bad year our of no where too. I see us picking top 5. New D scheme, all rookies/players that dont fit in the front 7, No QB, no OL, no wins.

RBs are not worth high first round picks. Even Peterson hasnt helped the Vikings as much as Willis has helped the 9ers.

Considering the situation, and what it would have taken to leapfrog the Raiders, I think we should have moved up. It was no suprise the Raiders took him, and it would have cost as low a draft pick as we had to move ahead. Now I know Campbell sucked pretty bad in college, but so did Peters. They are both great athletes and its the 4th round, even he became an above average RT it would have been worth it. Basically would you give up the WR we took adn Calloway for Campbell? I would...and I really liked Calloway in college.

I see Fitz being the one gone. Brohm and Brown are young, Trent has been very good in some games and never had a coach, Fitz has nothing to offer over the other guys except more experience. If they are really rebuilding they wont put much thought into fitz's experience

Pre-draft there was talk about him being able to play any line position but C. If he could be a good G then make him a good G - thats better than an average T.

Well, We missed on a lot of good OL guys. But our D front 7 was solidified. I think John Jerry will be a great G for Mia moving forward, who was picked one pick after Carrington. But in the first, we could have moved back and picked up an extra pick or two, then had a chance at Bulaga/Iupati/Pouncy. Thats one thing I think most fans are not seeing. Our interior Ol is just as bad as the Ts with Wood injured and Hangartner as a starter. Now I think the interior is extremely important... and IF it were possible to trade back in the first and add a late 2 or early 3, and pick up Bulaga and Jerry, our OL AND D front 7 would now be set moving forward. Lots of posters used the arguement "look at the top 4 teams in the playoffs and they dont have 1st round Ts" arguement. I agree with that point to a degree.... but look at those teams INTERIOR OL guys. There are pro bowlers and HOFers. Jets had Mangold and Fanaca. Colts had Saturday. Vikings have Hutchinson and the Saints have Jari Evans. The Interior is more important than it is given credit for. And when I think about it, Lynch/Jackson behind Bulaga/Jerry would produce more than Spiller/Lynch/Jackson behind Hangatner/DBell.

Adrew Luck is who I will be focusing on. I bet he is the top QB at the ed of the day. Gotta keep an eye on Locker and Mallet too. Hopefully we can get a top guy, with a rookie salary cap.
