  1. Wouldnt that jsut result in us having 2 bad QBs?
  2. I picked Newton because if he is a bust at QB he could still be an unstoppable WR, where Gabbert would be a goofy looking white dude with the name Blane and grow a gross beard ala JP.
  3. Thats the one guy I have always seen very late in their stuff and always think its too late. They have us taking Brooks Reed and he always seemed more like a 3rd round prospect for us. There are a handful of others too, but I can appreciate them establishing their own rankings, and as a whole I bet they are pretty accurate (they have Solder going in the 2nd, which is the lastest I have seen him going by far, which I feel is accurate[but he should still go later if you ask me])
  4. Cant argue with the 1st pick one bit. I like all the guys we land but I would do it a bit different. As always I think your sites player rankings are a bit off though. Who determines them anyways?
  5. That thing looks amazing. Spider.. if you are ever looking for new flooring options, I have seen carpet tiles they sell with NFl/NCAA/NHL logos on them that look awesome. You'd have to google them, but they look pretty sweet.
  6. I think he has done a terrible job, honestly he couldn’t do any worse. He instituted a personal conduct policy with no rubric or outline for punishments. He just gets to pick and chose how players are suspended, regardless of what they did – its all left up to king Goodell. Lynch has a registered handgun locked in the trunk of his car…. 3 game suspension. B. Marshall’s 3rd arrest for domestic violence, you get off scott free. Then he completely ignores Marvin Harrisons shooting spree incident. He clearly plays favorites with his punishments. His enforcement of fines are no different either. The new rules that keep coming out and enforcement of those rules are awful. Cant hit a QB ever – sucks, CBs cant fart in the direction of the WR with getting a penalty, the wording/enforcement of the “Calvin Johnson Catch that wasn’t” rules, etc. He sure has done a great job with this lockout too… And don’t get me started with the Spygate scandal. “The Pats didn’t do anything, I swear it was that bad, that’s why I destroyed all the evidence, you will just have to trust me” – Rodger Gooddell. My arse. He should have came out and let everyone see what the pats did or didn’t do. Then dole out a proper punishment. That’s the only way to clear the air. IMO the way they acted reaffirms that the Pats did cheat and only proves the NFL was willing to allow it.
  7. Regardless if its allowed or not, if there is a risk of those 2012 picks vanishing….then I doubt you see any picks traded. Best to err on the side of caution. PS: If they get rid of the draft, the other 2/3rds of the year without football will be completely ruined. Not to mention the Bills would be way worse off. Before we could force our bad picks to come here, now we wont even be able to do that!
  8. I doubt NFL teams put much into it honestly. His injury is pretty minor in today’s day and age. Wouldn’t mind him one bit at 34 either.
  9. Well, you are right in the sense it would be incredibly hard not to draft a bust this year, just like it is every year the Bills draft. But, as Turbosrrgood pointed out, they have managed to do it each and every year. The OP said Peterson was a sure fire player – I would strongly disagree. I think he will need to convert to safety to avoid being picked on by opposing teams. Someone else brought up Von Miller as being a sure-thing LB and instantly our best LB. I for one don’t see how he will be anything but a bust in a 3-4. Another guy brought up Phil Taylor in jest. While I admit it would be a reach, I would still be pumped we landed a very good, solid player. Opposite ends of the spectrum no? There are going to be differing opinions on players all over the place. What some see as cant-miss others see as cant-win. Regardless of who is right some of these “cant miss” guys are going to be misses just as they are every single year, that is just the reality of it. It’s the Bills job to determine who is going to miss and who isn’t. Unfortunately, history indicates we will be missing. Considering NeverGiveUp says we are liking Miller, I for one don’t see that changing this year., while others think we cant miss.
  10. Penis and wiener make wienis
  11. Well, not only do I still think that Fairley is hands down the best player in the draft, I also think he is a perfect fit for Buffalo. I know a lot of people have it in their heads that he is only a 4-3 DT but that is an baseless, false claim. He would be an ideal 34 DE, and could play inside or outside in a 4-3 he is so athletic. He is mean and nasty which is something this team really needs – they have been a bunch of pansies for years. Him and KW could get some fire in our front 7, with hopefully Carrington and Troup following suit and Kelsay being cut.
  12. The Bills seem to love small school/conference prospects who excelled, and have a very good track record in drafting them. Id say there is a good chance they land the guy.
  13. I hate him because he is bad at football. He also happens to start for my favorite team when his backups have outperformed him his entire career. I also hate Keith Ellison and Chris Kelsay for the same reasons and they were 6th and 2nd draft picks. The only way you point would apply to me would be if you argued that the only reason Whitner even plays is because of his draft status, claiming he would have been a backup if he was not a top 10 pick. I wouldnt mind if Whitner was a backup.
  14. - I didn’t play in college. I had a bunch of offers to but I decided to played Lacrosse in college. Not that it really matters anyway, great players don’t always make great coaches or scouts or trainers or anything. Im sorry if I am negative about our drafting, but I am not a blind optimist. Anyone who looks at our history knows we drop the ball 95% of the time. The truth just hurts sometimes, don’t kill the messenger . - Yes, results. The players I wanted would have been just as good on the Bills, in fact they would be our best players. You cannot caulk up the success of every player because of the guy next to him, because what makes that guy good, and the guy behind him? Or in front of him? Eventually, they players themselves have to be good and not just rely on everyone else to somehow magically do their job for them. If that wast the case then what was Strouds excuse? He was next to K Williams after all… I believe players are good all on their own, but I do admit players benefit from other great players. I also admit that is not the reason why Whitner, McCargo, Losman, maybin, McKelvin, and Spiller have been disappointments to date. Beside, the Bills have no one to blame but themselves when claiming “we don’t have enough talent” Bulaga for example – he had to block all those great Steelers LBs in the SB… its not like someone else did it. He had to block Peppers in the NFC Championship game too. And Patrick Kerney the game before that. Unless of course you think the great play of the RG somehow stopped those guys from getting to the QB? It also just isn’t about Spiller, its about Troup, Maybin, McKelvin, McCargo, Whitner, all of them. If you think they all would be superstars on other teams then that’s what you think. If you think guys like Orakpo and Gronkowksi and DRC and Mangold and Ngata would have somehow sucked and been busts on the Bills then that’s what you think. I don’t believe that for a second, and I chalk it up to the Bills FO being putrid. What about Orakpo? Do you think that he wouldn’t be able to contribute on special teams if we drafted him? He had 11 sacks as a rookie – is the reason that maybin has ZERO in his career really all coaching? I think it has something to do with Orakpo and Maybin as individual football players. The difference in their NFL potential was extremely evident on my television screen all season long. Evident things that the Bills FO has repeated been unable to see, while a former HS football player with basic cable can see those things clearly on the TV screen. I’m not saying I’m some prodigy, I’m just saying the Bills are so astronomically bad at identifying NFL talent coming out of college that words cannot truly explain just how bad they really are. PS: Jake Locker still stinks. I say still because he always stunk – even last year when McShay said he was a lock for #1 overall. He wasn’t any good last year and he was even worse this year. And RECCEO, my grammar sucks, my spelling sucks, and my typing is with worst of them all. Thanks for the pointers those Sister Nancy.
  15. I have no idea how reliable these guys are but here it is: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/index.php?app=forums&module=post&section=post&do=new_post&f=1 Hopefully NeverGiveUp can get us some more insight? Last report was that they were leaning toward Von Miller. I like the idea of Jordan, and I have heard he is really good (I didn’t see any Cal games this year myself). I would not be upset with him at 3 at all.
  16. Deal. He will be a very poor pass rusher and weak at the point of attack. Would make a solid WILL LB in a 4-3 though. - Because they won't hire me. - Results. - If a team is rebuilding, the last position they should look at is RB, Especailly when it is your most-stacked position. - Maybe. Gailey denied that, but I didnt believe me. Correct me if I am wrong, but Lynch produced more than Spiller when he had the ball. - 6-10in 2009 and 4-12 in 2010. Our RB position is also weaker than it was last season after spending a top 10 pick on the position. Yes we took a step backwards last season. - Yes. We were close in a bunch of games under Dickie J too. All NFL games are designed to be close. Losing close games doesnt make you good, winning close games makes you good. 3-4 points in the NFL is huge and is not easy to make up.
  17. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/103709-strouds-opinion/ Suh a top 10 NFL DT/DE(3-4) but week 8 of the NFL season. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/86284-you-have-1-minute-left-on-the-clock/ Liked Raji a lot too.
  18. You are just upset because Why So Serious and I know more than you. We get chastised for it at first, but in time everyone starts to see what we saw 3 years ago, once their Bills colored glasses wear off of whatever player the Bills decide to draft. It makes sense really, being a Bills fan you should get angry if somone tells you your recently drafted top 10 pick totally sucks and he already knows it! http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/87928-not-a-bad-first-round/ http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/125186-i-want-cam-newton/page__st__40 - Scroll to the second post of mine, the one with all the links http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/112491-cj-spillers-highlights/page__st__20 - most people did turn around on Bulaga, no? http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/110249-buffalo-in-desparate-need-of-tight-end-production/ http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/111406-this-guy-is-good/ - I really liked Gronkowski (10TDs and a PB nod). I thouhgt he would last till our third because of injury but as the draft grew closer it was obvious that wasnt the case. I wanted him in the 2nd when it was all said and done. I may have went for Clausen when he lasted that late though. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/112366-i-guess-the-bills-really-dont-think-an-o-line-is-necessary/page__st__20 - I wanted John Jerry in the 3rd, he started every game when healthy for Miami, and went 1 pick after us in the 3rd. I wasnt a member here in 2008 but I was pissed there wasnt a good DE, I didnt think we needed a CB at all btu had DRC has the best one, and was hoping for OL help, B Albert was the big name at the time - I liked him as a G. And I actually have emailed Buddy Nix things on the draft. I never heard anything back though.
  19. 1: Cam Newton QB - MINNESOTA 2: Blaine Gabbert QB - CAROLINA ARIZONA 3: Von Miller LB - BUFAALO :-( 4: Gabe Carimi OT - PHILLY NYG 5: Kyle Rudolph TE - ATL DENVER Updated 4/14
  20. Tha pats drafted 4 instant starters in last years draft. Their top two picks made the pro bowl. The Bills are lucky to get two starters after 3 years of "developing" in one draft, let alone 1st years PBers.
  21. I would have already made the. I would take either Watt, jordan, Quinn, or Carimi, in no real order. I would even try to trade back again
  22. Yea I know what you mean Watching the games it look like our D was worse, but statistically we were ranked 24th our of 32 in both O and D. It’s all relative really. Even though our D was worse than our O “head to head”, our O was just as bad when compared to the rest of the league. I absolutely wouldn’t say we should ignore two very good OL prospects, that would fix the worst unit on the Offense other than TE, while drafting 3 starters on D, because our D was that much worse (going back to my riginal comment)
  23. How did you come to that conclusion? I share the same opinion as the NFL advisory committee. That opinion differs from Todd McShay, Mel Kiper, and geeks who never played football but happen to run NFL draft websites. Please clarify who the "experts" you are referring to are. Its a moot argument anyways really. I mean look who the Bills have drafted the last 10 years. You could find an anonymous quote from a "10 year veteran, NFL head of college scouting" and he could be a bigger idiot than you or me or Tan McShay - who is to say that scout, whose team has 100% botched their drafts in his entire tenure, has any clue what they are talking about(I am talking about Modrak if you havent figured it out)? My point is that no one is really an expert, some are just better than others. And the reason I havent stopped following this abysmal team is that I am hopelessly addicted and simply cannot get myself to do it. Trust me I wish I could stop watching them but I can't, I think about it every day. If I could force myself to follow a better team I would. Hell, if I followed the stock market like I follow this team I could afford them when they come up for auction. I would love to have been born into fandom of a team that is good and makes good decisions but thats not what happened and as hard as I have tried I just can't help myself. My only hope is that this team is auctioned off sooner rather than later. That way they either become good (best case), move (second best case as I then will be released from my curse and can stop following them), or they get another sh*t owner who runs the team like sh*t and they continue to suck as they always have (worst case).
  24. Our OL is horrible. Where have you been the last 10 seasons? We need at least a RT to field a below average line, and a RG if we want to be above average. That is assuming Bell plays better than he did last year, the FO figures out that Hangartner is a career backup, and we have no injuries. The only problem I have with those picks is that they will likely need to be made a round earlier. Ijelana is an early 2nd type prospect and wont last until the 4th. PS: Our O was just as bad as our D last year. You don’t thinka dding 3 starting caliber players in one draft (Watt, Reed, Herzlich) is enough? We also had Carrington, Troup, Moats, and Batten last year. Overkill much?
  25. Thats Why So Serious - you are a voice of reason. These other guys clearly just blabor about what they heard on ESPN. If you watched any Locker games, or the Senior Bowl, he was horrible in every outing. The only way you could believe he was a top 10 pick last year if if you never saw him play and just go off of what Todd McShay said and not wha the NFL scouts and his play were telling you. Locker will get drafted 3-4 rounds too high on name alone. He should write a big check to Tan McShay when he does too. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/12/18/locker-didnt-get-a-first-round-grade-from-advisory-committee/ Despite a proclamation by ESPNs Todd McShay that Locker would/should/could be the first overall pick, a league source tells us that Locker didnt receive a first-round grade from the Advisory Committee. The source concedes that Locker might have still be drafted in round one given the value of the position, but the source insists that McShay was flat wrong in his assessment of Locker. Thats the problem, the source opined. McShay is clueless. Up until three weeks before the 2008 draft, he said that [Kentucky's] Andre Woodson would be a first-round pick. He went in the sixth and is out of the league. And the source explained that these opinions come not from the same-old rant by NFL scouts that guys like McShay and Mel Kiper have the luxury of popping off with no accountability as long as it all sounds good (the same-old rant has a significant amount of accuracy, by the way), but from concerns that guys like McShay do kids a disservice by pumping up their expectations. The problem I have with people like McShay saying stupid things is parents and others who advise these kids think McShay knows what he is talking about, the source said. And they believe him before they believe the Advisory Committee. Then, when the kids go a lot lower than projected they are pissed and/or depressed. . . . This stuff happens every year and we have to deal with the broken hearts because people who dont know what they are talking about put visions of grandeur into young players heads. Clearly a lot of TBD readers do too. Schefter was the first one to report that Buffalo liked Spiller if my memory serves me correctly. It was only after his report that Charles Davis and others put Spiller to Buffalo in their mocks. Thats why I am so worked up about it. The Bills last season telgraphed their pick. I dont believe they are trying to hide anything. Dude the Bills have been in the top 10 the past 10 years and have ZERO players to show for it. Its awfully hard to miss on the top 10 every year but Buffalo manages to do it. And if you think they cant mess up a top 5 pick, just wait till April.
