Thats a good one, that dude blows hard. Costanza aint much better either.

Well thats no suprise. Its a bit more disheartening when you best pick in the last 5 years was Jarius Byrd. I know he had 9 picks as a rookie, but half of those were either gift wrappedn and handed to him or he was totally out of position and the play should have been a TD but somehow the QB threw it to Byrd instead of his WR. He has been a let down IMO. He takes bad angles in run support and is routinely out of position in pass coverage. He allowed a lot of TDs last year.

Does he have to never see the field? That’s a bit hard to predict. Why can’t completely sucking on the field count? The easiest answer here is Jake Locker – he completely sucked in college, and I would be surprised if he starts more than 3-5 games in his career. Those starts will be out of pure need due to injury. As a QB he wont be asked to play STs – which Maybin cant do. Maybe the most “out-there” answer is Von Miller. If Von Miller is selected by a 3-4 team, or for some reason is drafted to play 4-3 DE (ironically like Maybin was) then he will be completely useless on D. STs I would expect him to excel at though. Those are my two answers

My guess is there were about 20 players the Bills wanted last year that were all drafted after there 1st round pick and before their 2nd round pick. Just because they didnt have enough picks to draft them all doesnt mean they didnt want him. Clearly you dont want to believe the Bills had a genuine interest in drafting Tebow and rationalise it by calling evidence to the contrary speculation, while taking the word of Ralph who refuses to admit failure (he constantly claims he wants to win the SB before he dies yet refuses to do anythign to actually acomplish that goal). How is a - first hand account - of the Bills telling a player we like you and want to draft you and may be able to do it at #9 - in secret without any of that info being leaked to the media (which is a fact) not evidence? Do you think its a smokecreen? What good is a smokescreen when no one else knows about it? That means…. Its not a smokescreen! It cant be! Then, on draft day, members of the media get wind of the trade battle between Buffalo and Denver which *reportedly* was a battle for rights to Tebow. Denver wins said battle and selects Tebow (fact). Buffalo doesnt trade up in the next few picks and no reports surface about buffalo trying to trade up after Tebow is selected (also fact). Any reasonable person can deduct that Buffalo was also targeting Tebow. If not, then why would they go from hell-bent on trading up to not wanting to at all without the player they coveted being off the board????? So now the report which said Buffalo wants Tebow, is backup up by the actions of the organization. Thats pretty strong evidence… So to answer your questions, Yes I believe the Bills showed genuine interest in Tebow at 9 because they DID. I believe they told people they were trying to trade back into the 1st for him because they DID tell his agent that(in secret - so it cant be a smokescreen), and I believe they did stop trying to trade up for Tebow exactly when his name was called BECAUSE THATIS WHAT HAPPENED! An no, I dont believe old arse Ralph denying their interest in tebow because actions speak louder than words. He can deny it all he wants but the proof is in the pudding for all reasonable people to see. I dont believe that bold faced lie the same way I dont believe that he truely wants to win the SB. If you want to ignore the facts and evidence and believe a 95 y/o man who has been lying through his teeth about winning for decades then fine If you cant be reasonable and have already made up your mind no amount of proof will be enough to change it.

Not true. Multiple times ESPN had Schefter speak live on air during the draft when the whole trade went down. His first reports were “Buffalo and Denver and both trying to trade up, and I hear they are targeting Tebow” and his last report was “Denver offered more than Buffalo for the opportunity to move up and get Tebow” Now anyone with half a brain can see that as soon as Tebow was drafted, the Bills stopped trying to trade up. If they were targeting a different player – why all of a sudden stop trying to move up? Denver took Tebow, if Buffalo wanted someone else, then your guy was still there and you can still move up! Then there is also the Tebow documentary which shows the draft from Tebow’s point of view. Its very clear in that documentary that Buffalo was considering Tebow at #9 Maybe they weren’t expecting Spiller to lasst that long and it made their decision easier, but Buffalo was thinking Tebow at 9 long before draft day. Tebow’s agent said something like “The Bills call me every other day… They want you [Tebow] at 9, then they don’t, then they do, then they don’t, they can’t make up their mind” And I think he even mentioned that Buffalo had a few trade scenarios lined up where they land Tebow, Denver definitely did – and pulled through with it. If you can find a link to that Tebow documentary, it’s all there. That’s not a report either, its better.

I really like Carpenter, but thats it.

They tried desperately to draft him, but were outbid by Denver. I highly doubt that they like him less after his relitively strong rookie year. I also doubt that the Bills only liked the 7 players they drafted last year.

did you get this idea from me lol? http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/128551-dream-and-realistic-top-4-mock/ I would love to add Tebow, even moreso now than in last years draft, but unless there is a new CBA in place pre-draft we cant trade for players. We could trade for him before the season (if we dont draft a QB) and give up a 2012 pick (2nd roudner still likely)

Seems realistic to me. -
If thats the case we should trade all our future draft picks for picks this year and hope that they do find the draft illegal (lets hope that Buffalo Judge is a Bills fan). We could make out like Bandits!

What thread was that in?

On the other hand, Chan came right out and said " I want a water bug running back" and thats exactly what we got. I dont think these guys know how to put up a smokes screen.

my degree is in management and is equally worthless.

What does NGU say? Von Miller still?

That would be an awesome draft. too bad those guys got suspended, that was a stacked NC roster. -
Well almost no one fits that Bill. Stafford/Sanchez/Freeman were all underclassman. Bradford too. I think only Stafford started 3 yrs of those 4. Ryan and Flacco didnt sart for 3 years either. Off the top of my head the last time a QB fit those criteria and ended up being a good pro was 2004. I dont think teams can wait 7 years for QBs to come out. The times have chagned.

I hope so Hangman stinks and I think he played better at C than at G and I feel he fits there better. Thinking about it in the simplest of terms, Wood always seemed to be a stout strong blocker who handled bull rushes well, btu struggled v quicker, lateral moving DTs. With him at C he can use his strnegth to take on big, less mobile NGs in the 3-4, and not have to block the smaller/quicker DTs in a 4-3 1v1 (likely helping a G with a double team). This is opposed to Hangman who got bowled over my nosegards and DTs.

I think Amukamara is the best Cb in the draft because Peterson will play S. I still dont want either.

If we only drafted UNC players this year I would be pumped. Quinn, Austin, B.Carter and/or Sturdivent, K Burney, the huge WR of theirs whose name is slipping my mind right now... they are all monsters. I dont know where they are slated to go but I bet they fall with their suspensions and if we could land those gusy with our first 5 picks that would be awesome. May not fit our 3-4 though. They had a top D in 09. It really shouldnt matter though, its more about the players as individuals and these guys are all great. -
cool read. He clearly puts a lot into the effort and desire of these guys, which is understandable. But I still want Fairley at Phil Taylor. I am not worried about Fairley at all, and I expect a 340# man to get tired after a few 1st downs, so that doesnt worry me. Thats also why Im not satisfied with just Troup at NG (I expect him to get tired too). Taylor showed up at the combine and was not flabby at all, that tells me he was in good shape. If Talyor makes it past the Steelers(37 y/o C. Hampton), Chargers (lost their NG last offseason), Jets (cut the oft injured Jenkins), and tha Pats (need DL help) twice Ill eat my hat. Fairley I think is ours if we want.

so how do I enter? -
Somehow this has become a Quinn v Miller debate. How people cannot see the innate differences in these twos ability is simply something I will never comprehend.

Dream and realistic top 4 mock

My dream and [somewhat] realistic mock draft is as such: - Bills trade #3 to Dallas (who moves up to draft Peterson) for #9, #40(7th in the 2nd) and #71 (7th in the 3rd) which is a "steal" for the Cows, as the chart says we are getting shorted by the quivelant of the last pick in the 3rd (a trade back to 9 was somewhat elluded to in a Gailey interview, if you read between the lines) - At 9 The Bills land starting DE Cam Jordan (or JJ Watt, Quinn, or even Carimi) - At 34 the Bills land co-starting NG Phil Taylor (or J. Houston, Sherrod/Ijelana or K. Rudolph) - The Bills trade #40 to the Broncos for 2012 starting QB Tim Tebow, because the Broncos took Gabbert at 2 and are moving in that direction (Im buying the Elway smokescreen of wanting to add a QB here) - At 68 the Bills land James Carpenter, starting RT - At 77 the Bills land Mark Herzlich, starting ILB - At 99 the Bills land John Moffit, starting RG - At 121 the Bills land Jordan Cameron, developmental TE that played BBall in college and only 1 year of football at USC. -
I also would be pretty pumped with this draft. Im not too high on Cam, because I haven’t met him, and I deffinately don’t think he will make it, but at least he has the measurable of an NFL caliber player at his position (unlike most of the Bills 1st round picks) But that pick essential don’t anger me. I am thrilled with the 2nd and 3rd round selections. TE IMO is the 2nd or 3rd most important positon on O behind only QB and maybe LT. Rudolph could score us 10 TDs next year and be a huge force in the run game. Huge plus landing him that late. Carpenter is also a great OL prospect and is horribly under rated. Considering he has vastly outperformed guys like Solder and Costanso on the field and lasts till the 3rd is awesome for us. He may be the 2nd best T in this draft, definitely the 3rd or 4th best IMO. Consider RT filled for 12 years.
