  1. Haha I thought the same thing. Still a pretty sweet article though. I can see NFL teams operating just like that, and its funny to hear him say scouts just end up liking who everyone else likes so that their neck isn’t stuck out at all. Im also interested in this Jurrell Casey now… Ill have to check his youtube clips out later lol.
  2. Hahaha no, I never wanted Newton. I haven’t wanted any QB since Luck went back to school. I have said I wouldn’t mind if we drafted Newton over certain others though, because it would make for more entertaining Sundays and I dont expect a good player anyways - so why not Newton? It goes without saying, but hose statements were made in jest. In my estimation Newton has a farts chance in the wind of being worth the 3rd overall pick when all is said and done. I dont know what Im talking about? Ok Mr Locker and Mr newton, Ill remember that
  3. My whining has been fully merited 1000 times over. If the Bills make another dumb draft day decision, as they have the past 10 years, it will continue. If they do not, then I will praise them. Simple as that.
  4. Whats wrong with that? Crabteree was an instant stud on a team without a QB.
  5. Even IF Mallet wasn’t an awkward, drug using thug with a Ryan Leaf personality complex, I still wouldn’t want him on my team.
  6. Or we coulda just played Flutie. That forward pass is the football gods punishing Ralph for forcing RJ on the coach and the team, or Karma, whatever you wanna believe. But thinking they arent related is just being naive
  7. Agreed, I like Ziemba. Forgot about him in that game though. IIRC the main reason the North stunk is because their OL was getting blown up all day. The South didnt have any superstars on the DL and the Ds arent even allowed to blitz. Costanza and Solder are just bad.
  8. Most of the people blabbering about prospects have no idea what they are talking about. Ironically a lot of NFL teams fall into that category, which is just astonishing to me. Unfortunately for us fans, the Bills are at the top of that list. While people in the media (McShay) are talking about Maybin as a top 10 pick, smart, good drafting teams Im sure have him as a 5th rounder on their board. They have to - or else they wouldnt be good drafting teams. The opposite of that scenario played out last year when Jax took Tyson Abelou or whatever his name is - no one knew who he was but he was a great player. The Bills trade up for McCargo who Kiper said was a 4th round pick. Its extremely common for one team to rank a player as a top ten and another team wont even have the same player on their board - at all. Its a myth that Maybin was unanimously a top ten player. IMO it was the most obvious bust of a pick in the history of the draft. Some people knew it, idiots didnt, the Bills didnt. Its easy to connect the dots.
  9. no developmental players at any position please. Id rather take a day 1 starter at any position rather than a developmental guy who may hopefully start one day and who could potentailly be a deterant to better QB next year IF we have the chance.
  10. I think the 1st two picks are kinda poopie, and the next two picks are highly unlikely (both players drafted by then). James Brewer is really big and I read he was a mauler in the run game. Maybe a RG? That would be sweet.
  11. Maybe its because Chan knows he isnt very good at T. The only T that looked good in that game was Carpenter, with SHerrod being OK (Carimi sat out the game with injury). Amazing, because those two arent considered the top Ts, people brushed off their performances with comments like "Carpenter had a realy good game, which suprised me, because he is a mid round T" - Mike Mayock. Meanwhile, Cozstanzo and Solder played like poopie and get comments like "Coztanso and Solder had pretty rough days, but thats ok, because they are still 1st round picks" - Mike Mayock Typical fitting a performance into the round you want the guy to go in. If there were honest assessments of that game neither Solder or Coztansa would get 1st round grades.
  12. "Today the Bills released _________, the 3rd overall pick. from the 2011 draft" - Chris Brown, Circa August, 2014 Fixed
  13. What makes you think the Bills would draft Luck? Even with the 1st overall pick and Fitz broken in half by Bart Scott they wouldnt draft him, they would outsmart everyone by taking someone else.
  14. True, but McShay doesnt have one success to hang his hat on. Not one.
  15. So Modrak thinks its better to hit on a late round prospect every other year than hitting on your 1st round pick every year? he seems to imply that its their strategy to not spend a lot of time on 1st round prospects, and spend all their time on guys in the later rounds. well thats jsut stupid. If I bought the team tomorrow I would demote/promote the current staff to only rounds 4-7, and hire an entire new team of scouts for rounds 1-7.
  16. The Bills do this every single year. They trade up or try to every stinking year, regardless of who is available and the scenario. Considering the Bills are the worst drafting team in the NFL, and there was a report that they really like Locker, I can see us betting the farm to move up for the future bust. But whoever wrote this article isnt very smart, he thinks Cam Jordan may be making a switch to 34 rush LB. How do people like this get these gigs anyways?
  17. All I remember is the Bills saying they wanted to take Kelsay in the FIRST ROUND but took McGayhee instead. Then they were all gitty when kesay was still there in the second. little did they know he prob would have been available in the 3rd, 4th, 5th.... Just more evidence of how terrible our FO is. PS I think Dadonkadonk is Modrak after his comments. Me and many others.
  18. “I think he was the best player in the draft,” Wilson said. “We’ve been dull for 10 years . . . no excitement. We’ve got to create some excitement.” http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/04/23/ralph-wilson-rips-tim-tebow-pick-denver-panicked/ We tend to pick the player Ralph says. Winning rarely is beind Ralphs decisions9selling tickets is). Newton is that pick this year. If he falls, I think you will see Newton as the pick turned in instantly just like last year, regardless of who Chan and Nix want.
  19. So your logic is since his the dad didnt do well in the NFL his son wont either?
  20. James Carpenter is the steal of the draft. 2nd or 3rd best T in the class, depending on how good T Smith actually is - I havent seen him but I know he only player RT in college.
  21. Really? I saw on ESPN just a couple days ago that he said they havent yet decided to keep him or release him yet. They mentioned that Vince was due a 4 mil roster bonus 10 days after the new CBA was agreed on, so that they would likely be forced to make a decision before that. PS I love VY and hope we bring him in. I honestly think he could beat out Fitz if Fitz has a few bad games like last year. We also have one of the worst OL in the league and are 1 bad hit from starting Brohm.
  22. Buffalo trades back from 3 5 times and ends up picking 20-25th-ish. The results of the trading back nets them 2 2012 1st rounders and 3 2011 2nd rounders. At 20-25th-ish they take Carimi. They then trade 2 2nd rounders back into the 1st round for JJ Watt. Then somehow Phil Taylor lasts til 34 and we take him. Brooks Reed or M. Wilson or K. Sheppard or some other LB with the last remaining 2nd. In the 3rd we take James Carpenter and with our 4ths we take Herzlich and that USC BBall TE Cameron or whatever his name is. In the 5th we take that injured UNC LB who falls, and in the 6th Lee Ziebra the OT from Auburn. With some other picks we likely added with all the trade downs we land future starting RB Delone Carter, from Cuse. In 2012 the Bills trade all 3 first round picks and as many other picks as needed for the #1 overall pick for Luck.
  23. Maybin never had a chance, ever, he just didnt. Its sad the Bills felt the need to draft a player who so clearly had no business being in the NFL. No amount of coaching can turn him around. He has no instincts, no size, no strength, and he isnt even that great of an athelete by NFL terms (zero change of direction ability). The only thing that has kept him on the team this long is his draft status, that is it. He should be cut and make room for another UDFA who is already leaps and bounds better than him. Just get him off the team already.
  24. People look at VYs stats and forget what he can do for his entire team. When he is in the plays calls include lots of bootlegs and roll outs and mis directions. That slows down the backside pursuit of the backside defenders, because they need to honor vince running the other way. What happens when defenders are jsut a half step slower because of that threat? Chris Johnson runs for 2000 yards and breaks the NFL record for yards from scrimmage. If you think the two are unrealated then you are a silly pants. He has always been a low percentage, his reward passer, even in college. That has its downside and upside, but he is a lot better than people give him credit for, I assume because of the melt downs and stuff. I would welcome him to the roster, he is sure better than Brohm and Levi. We go 0-16 if Fitz goes down in week 3 of last season, and go 0-16 if we lose Fitz week 1 of this season, and dont add a QB.
