  1. The point was that there wasn't a criterion. Did none of you actually read what they wrote? They actually said they pulled these names out of their a$$es. It was a joke.
  2. People often forget that muscle weighs more than fat since it is more dense.
  3. It's all meaningless at this point ... but, in case you're looking for a little more respect, BleacherReport has the Bills at 17.
  4. I love Chan and Buddy. They're so quotable: "You use that term experts loosely, by the way," Gailey said.
  5. Agreed. The Pats* are Brady and Welker. Gonzalez isn't bad, but he's not going to light it up and Lloyd is OK. Ochocinco? Seriously? They are a far cry from the days when Moss was in his prime. In fact, they haven't won a Super Bowl seven years.
  6. Wilson has shown up in the top 2 on Football Outsiders rankings before too.
  7. Haven't seen a thread on this. Feel free to close/delete if one exists (though pointing me to it would be appreciated ). Since the big Mario signing on Thursday, all seems to have been quiet. Anyone know what's going on? Are we done in UFA or are we going to go after somebody else? Apparently we're not looking for a WR. But what about other positions? We had a serious lack of depth last year. I just don't want this Mario signing to turn into another T.O. situation (yes, I know there's a huge difference between the two) where we make a big splash, boost ticket sales, and then twiddle our thumbs.
  8. It's a deep WR draft class. Why overpay for someone? Manningham is about the only FA worth a look at this point since Meachem and Jackson are off the market. I like the way Jeffery fights for yards after the catch. Shades of Andre from the old days.
  9. This thread is insanely long so I apologize if someone posted this somewhere, but it breaks down pretty well just how potent the Bills D-line could be next year: http://nfl.si.com/2012/03/15/break-it-down-how-mario-williams-can-help-the-bills/?sct=nfl_t11_a0 Can't rest on their backsides, though. Williams is one player - an awesome one - but we need depth.
  10. Love it. I tried to resist the temptation to run around my neighborhood choking.
  11. I seem to recall that with the new agreement in place between owners and players, teams are required to spend something like 90% of the cap. So don't give him too much credit.
  12. He's not a bad head coach. He's clearly a good one. On the other hand, he hasn't had much success in the playoffs. It doesn't mean he won't eventually, but he hasn't yet.
  13. I was wondering the same thing. If Whaley bolts for the Colts, then it was likely just a stunt to try to keep him in town.
  14. When do we get a new owner? (That's a rhetorical question and, no, I don't wish harm on Ralphie. I'm just fed up and think it doesn't matter who ends up at D-coordinator in the end.)
  15. No way! Fred's still better than Spiller and it would be nice to have a 1-2 punch in the backfield, especially if Chan would actually stick to the run a bit.
  16. I had them at 4-12 in the preseason. Nevertheless, the 7 straight losses - after wins over good teams - is unacceptable. That's an indictment of the coaching. Given the win today over Denver, which is a halfway decent team, you can't tell me that the losing streak was all injuries either. In short, I think the talent is mostly there and I even think they can win with Fitz (I mean, come on, the Bucs won the Super Bowl with Brad Johnson). They do need some more depth. But more importantly they need solid coaching and smart FO moves (e.g. give Jackson a raise regardless of what Spiller did today).
  17. Seeing as how we're picking up people who can jump out of pools, how about ?
  18. But then I don't get why we never IR'ed Bell, especially since they've managed to survive without him for so long. Anyway, I just thought it sounded a little fishy when they IR'ed Lindell just after he said he was ready to come back (in his own mind, anyway). It seems like we've led the league in IR'ed players several of the past few years.
  19. Are there any salary adjustments when a player goes on IR? I'm not familiar with all the rules surrounding placing someone on IR. Obviously you still have to pay his salary, but does it get you out of paying bonuses?
  20. Then why are they $24 million under the cap? And why didn't they go out and get at least a serviceable center when Wood went down? Sure, they only made one or two cost-saving moves (e.g. Lee Evans), but when you're that far under the cap, there's only so much you can cut without fielding a team of high schoolers.
