Guess the Bills Free Agent Signings
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Buffalo Destroyers!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ron Parker from the Chiefs makes a ton of sense. Need a safety and he is versatile enough to play CB. He will not come at a big price -
Jerry Hughes signs 5-year deal with Bills
atlbillsfan1975 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like where your head is at. I think the Bills wanted to sign Hughes for the right price. I also was pretty sure based off Hughes statements about no home town discount and such that he was going to hit FA. I think Whaley and Rex are now looking for another play they can put in the front 7 and he will be the next 'Hughes'. Maybe in 2-3 years he can be resigned for the bigger number because Mario is not costing as much. -
Jerry Hughes signs 5-year deal with Bills
atlbillsfan1975 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have thought all along Hughes ends up in Atlanta. Atlanta will overpay for him and Hughes will have a tough time matching his numbers the past two seasons. People in Atlanta will say he is another bust FA. I do not blame Whaley one bit for standing his ground. There is a good bit of DE out there available in FA. If the Bills overpay an extra $2mil here $1.5 there and $3mil to this guy, next thing you know you can't sign Dareus. Go get paid Hughes! I would and so would every guy on here. You know you would! -
Rapaport: Trading Kiko was Rex's idea
atlbillsfan1975 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bingo! As opposed to yelling at each other in public -
Spot on. 1 and 2 rounders are expected to be starters/heavy contributors year one in today's game. 3rd rounders should see significant playing time in year one. After that whatever you get from rounds 4-7 is really gravy in year one. If any of those mid to late round picks turn into a starter you had a wonderful draft.

Bills to trade Kiko Alonso for LeSean McCoy
atlbillsfan1975 replied to CNY315's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree that I like the fact Whaley is making moves. I expect to see more In FA. Whaley has a plan and I believe he and Rex are on the same page which is huge. I wanted to see Kiko in Rex's system but I know Rex will have this D humming. -
I like not tagging him and i like the approach Whaley has taken. The Bills have come right out and said we are doing everything we can to bring him back. I am sure they are . At this point Hughes and his agent may want to wait. I am sure Hughes' agent already has fielded a few 'hypothetical offers' from other teams. Let it all play out. Atlanta just dumped a bunch of players and now has about the same as the Bills. It has been widely known down here that they need a pass rusher. Hate to say it but i could easily see Hughes in Atl.

Depression in former NFL players
atlbillsfan1975 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could not agree more. The guys from the 50's-mid 90's paved the way for the big deals and everything else players enjoy. They get a pittance compared to what guys from the 2000's get in benefits. The NFL should be ashamed for how they treat the pioneers of the league. -
says Atl saved $3.8 by cutting him. How much you think Blalock will get? 31 with no injury history. Maybe a 3 year deal in the neighborhood of $15mil? $8mil guaranteed?

Rex has a custom Bills truck
atlbillsfan1975 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't normally do this but you seem like a swell guy Fix Or Repair Daily -
Having watched a lot of Falcons games Blalock was honestly the only good oline man on the Falcons over the last two years. I don't think he will come cheap but he is good.

RUMOR: EJ Manuel Likely To Be Cut
atlbillsfan1975 replied to negativo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
EJ has no trade value at all. Anyone thinking otherwise is a supporter of EJ's or an optimist that we have the answer to the QB position on the team. I am by no means stating EJ can't become a starting caliber QB, but right now he has no history to warrant trading anything for. The only GM that might do it already has a QB in Indy! Ha The waiting till after FA may suggest another move is in place. Rex does not know much about how to develop a QB but Roman does. If Roman isn't interested in trying, that is good enough for me. -

My main 'issue' with Chandler is that he is average at best at everything. He is not a great blocker or a great pass catcher or elusive at all. Chandler should be the 'complimentary' TE to a true number one TE.

The all Sam Bradford thread
atlbillsfan1975 replied to NextYearGuys's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe Dareus and a third rounder? Whaley might be watching the Suh deal very close. Also what do the Bills have that the Rams need? WR's? Bills have 2 worth anything and Watkins is not going anywhere. And no way is Robert Woods is in the discussion unless it includes about 3 other guys and a pick or two. -
Hughes contract in the works according to report.
atlbillsfan1975 replied to mellaman101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
along those same lines, what about if the Bills 'other' big FA signing is Revis? talk about a scary D for a few years. You would be done most likely, with out any significant O signings. How would you feel? -
QB guru George Whitfield's take on EJ
atlbillsfan1975 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do think there is some reasons to be hopefully that EJ progresses. i think EJ can be as good as Wilson in Seattle who I believe is a decent QB with a great team. Whaley is trying to duplicate that model. -

Bills to meet with all but 2 QBs at Combine
atlbillsfan1975 replied to elroy16's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills team going into this draft have far fewer glaring holes to fill then past years. This is before FA even begins. Why not look at a QB in the later rounds? You may draft the next Financial adviser for Charles Schwabb or you may find Tom Brady! -

I would like to see the Bills go after him. A little karma paid back to us fans for losing Lynch, maybe. New place with new faces maybe helps him turn the corner.
