  1. Let me start off by saying that I was excited when I heard the Bills re-signed Buddy Nix as a scout. I was even more encouraged when I read that he ran the Chargers' drafts, considering how good they were. My question is, will he have a large say in who gets drafted? If so, I'm even more excited at what he could do with the multiple 1st rounders and early picks.
  2. Walker at LT (again, should be Bell to let him learn, and to keep the right side intact), with Rhodes in the backfield to pass protect and catch outlet passes.
  3. You also don't just look to trade a former top-5 DT after a year, because you're moving to a new system.
  4. Pretty impressive, considering Williams, Ryans, and Daniels are 3 of the best players at their positions in the NFL, and Winston is their starting RT. I also don't think that this is a great OT group and hope the Bills don't take one early.
  5. True, based on college and potential, Dorsey would again be a top-5 pick. Based on his first season in the NFL, he's not even worth a 2nd. That isn't to say that he won't develop, just that there was nothing in his performance to suggest he'd would develop.
  6. He's not even worth a 2nd rounder at this point.
  7. I like what I hear, although I'd keep Walker at RT and play Bell at LT and let him start learning NOW! And Walker won't hold-out if he starts at LT (and I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he also gets a raise for playing LT, like Peters had in his previous contract with the Bills). That's the difference between him and Peters.
  8. I could justify it because he's allegedly an OL-quality blocker. And while not a stretch-the-field type, he's supposedly a great outlet receiver. I just hope the Bills have a (good) DE in mind for one of their later picks.
  9. Another rumor is that the Bills are going to take Pettigrew at #11. I guess we'll find out in a 3 days.
  10. What are you, Tucker's mom or something? No, it's a fact. The Bills took an UDFA TE and turned him into a LT worth trading for a 1st, 4th, and conditional pick. This despite having a poor season and putting them in a difficult position. The better question is whether Peters will live-up to expectations in Philly and/or how long it will be before he's pulling the same stunt there because he feels he's underpaid.
  11. Tucker is dead-on about Peters, i.e. saying that no other teams made a run at him because there were huge question marks about him and how time will tell whether Philly got fleeced (the Bills made-out no matter how you look at it). But I think he's wrong about the Bills looking OT with the 11th overall pick.
  12. McNally had nothing to do with Peters. He was with the Giants at that time.
  13. Like I said, I may be wrong and I hope I am. I'd like to see what McNally can do with Bell.
  14. I remember Peters claiming/making excuses that more than a few of his sacks surrendered were "hustle" sacks, i.e. where the opposing player was out-hustling him.
  15. From the impression I got, the Bills more or less forced McNally out. I may be wrong, but that's what it seemed like to me. Plus I'm sure he's dumbfounded that the Bills would trade Peters.
  16. How much do you want to be handcuffed by a player? The guy wasn't seen at OBD from the end of the 2007 season to a day before the 2008 season. So any threats probably need to be taken with more than a grain of salt. The Bills got value for a guy coming off a poor season, with major attitude and motivation issues, and they got it done before the draft so that they have options. Could they have gotten more? Possibly? Could they have gotten less? Definitely.
  17. He was going to sit-out 10 games if he didn't get a new deal. That lowers his trade value for the Bills.
  18. Jason should do Shawn a favor and introduce him to Eugene Parker.
  19. Sure he does. All he has to do is listen to Peters regarding what leverage he has: a(nother) holdout. And I'm sure giving Peters $10M/year while he's making $3.55M will do wonders for his depression.
  20. Bingo. After hearing Peters' rationalization of his poor play, I'm glad his worthless azz is gone. And yes, I do mean worthless. The Bills' next LT will have a hard time being worse than Peters was last year.
  21. The uncapped year isn't the bonanza for players that people think it is. And if the NFL were stupid enough to make every game pay-per-view, they'd end-up killing the league.
  22. I seriously doubt the Eagles told the Bills "he's the best LT in the game!" I bet it was more like "we like Peters, but look, he gave up 11.5 sacks last year, got injured, and couldn't even play in the Pro Bowl. And he wants crazy money. We're taking a risk here." And that my friends, is how the Eagles get enough leverage to not give-up their 21st pick, much less both 1st rounders.
  23. Everyone's a bust in Oakland. See Moss, Walker, etc.
  24. It's called implication. Shawn Andrews was reportedly unhappy with his contract (hmmm, sounds familiar) and now see's a former team/roommate making almost 3 times what he does. Why would he be upset?
