  1. In the article linked on the front of TBD, the Bills apparently told Rhodes that he might start against the Patriots on opening day. So the reports of Rhodes' demise are greatly exaggerated.
  2. It's mostly the economy.
  3. The kid has things you can't teach: size, agility/good feet, and a pro athlete bloodline. What you can teach is technique, and you can also improve strength.
  4. Yes, but Bell's impending awesomeness forced Madden to see the light...and retire.
  5. How were they desperate? The only reports I've heard about the contract is that it's a 2-year incentive-laden deal. By "incentive-laden," I assume it's for close to the minimum with, well, incentives to push it higher should be produce. I'd say "desperate" would be signing him to a 4-year $10M deal.
  6. Perhaps. And perhaps LT is an overrated position?
  7. The Giants probably showed interest just to drive-up the asking Price for Peters. They have LT David Diehl, with whom they won a SB.
  8. The Bills might want to stop using a roster spot on a guy who is strictly a punt returner, albeit an excellent one, in favor of a guy who is an excellent backup RB and can be a good punt returner. And I'm sure they already got Bobby April's input, before looking to trade him.
  9. I'd say that a 16.6 average on 7 returns shows the potential to be a good punt returner (although not that he'd continue to average 16.6 YPR). I wouldn't casually dismiss it, as you are doing.
  10. Lynch should tell Goodell to give his 3-game suspension to Marshall, for getting arrested again. And thereby making the NFL and Goodell look bad, after their "sit down" and his suspension last year.
  11. Ever heard of reading comprehension? I said that Roscoe proved himself over many more punts.
  12. Let me start off by saying that I'm a Hardy supporter. But with how little he showed (although I loved the Jags game-winning TD!) and the ACL, Hardy's "bust" factor at the present seems greater than his "boom" factor. It will be up to him to show us what he's got. I feel the same way about Ellis, who could be a player, but hasn't shown anything yet (and anything they get out of him will be gravy IMHO).
  13. The Bills are just going to select an OLB or DE and nothing else in the draft?
  14. Jackson averaged 16.6 YPR on 7 punts last year. That was better than Roscoe (15.3). Although Roscoe has proven himself over many more punts. And as a kick returner, Jackson isn't that great.
  15. Well, you can't let everyone who is good but wants to be overpaid leave, because you'll just end-up spinning your wheels. The Bills have gotten a lot of flack for letting Jennings, Winfield, Clements, Williams, McGahee, and now Peters go, because it meant they had to draft or sign someone to replace them.
  16. I haven't heard definitive word, but I can guarantee 100% that if he didn't already, he will appeal it.
  17. The notion that the Pats settled for a 2nd rounder instead of waiting it out for a 1st rounder is the silliest thing I've ever heard. The Pats covet their 1st round picks. And Cassel needed to be paired with Vrabel for him to be even be traded, for a 2nd rounder.
  18. He's not even a RFA. He's an EFA, which means he has even less leverage than a RFA, which has little to begin with.
  19. Jennings was a good non-re-sign. Clements' production hasn't matched his contract and was also a good non-re-sign. I don't get the love for Winfield. He's made the Pro Bowl (which we know is a joke) once in his 10 years, and that was last year with a DL of Pat Williams, Kevin Williams, and Jared Allen. Speaking of Pat Williams, he, along with Ted Washington, were big losses, both literally and figuratively. Peters remains to be seen. Would I advocate paying him $10M/yea with $25M guaranteed based on his career's work to date? No way.
  20. Yep. Lynch can participate in everything except for the games for which he is suspended.
  21. My question to you Karl is, who the F cares? If the Bills are targeting an OT with the 11th overall pick, will 31 other teams try and jump into the top-10 just to get one before the Bills pick? How about at #28? The 2nd round?
  22. Peters is getting an additonal $54M over 4 years, tacked onto his 2-year $6M remaining deal. So he's making $60M over 6 years ($10M/year), with $25M guaranteed. And Jake Long is the highest-paid LT in NFL history, at 5 years and $57.5M ($11.5M/year).
  23. I'm hoping he can get more info on the whole saga as well, like what the Bills' final offer was, whether the 21st overall was on the table, and who the Bills think will replace Peters.
  24. Go follow another team. And welcome to ignore.
  25. We don't know what the Bills offered Deano. Most reports had it at $9M+/year.
