  1. Okay, without knowing what methodology they used, forget the stats. Do you think that Peters played like a top-tier LT last year? I don't, and I've been one of his biggest supporters until now. The "he missed all of the off/pre-season" can only go so far to excusing him. And hearing him talk about being "outhustled" by guys who got sacks on him was disturbing to hear from a guy demanding to be paid like the top LT in the game.
  2. Looks like major change is in the air. Given the past results, I can't say that it's anything other than a good thing.
  3. Except that Edwards and Losman were sacked 38 times. And in the 3 games Peters missed, the Bills' QB's were sacked just 4 times total. So in the games Peters played, the QB's were sacked 34 times. And Dockery was charged with 8.25.
  4. Well, it's not like they could go to the LT store.
  5. How much was Parker's doing? I hate that .
  6. Horrible example. Brees was allowed to hit FA because the Chargers gave up on him (couldn't blame them at the time) and drafted Phillip Rivers the draft before Brees had a breakout season. And then he severely injured his throwing shoulder, casting doubt on his future.
  7. We'll have to see how a) Peters does this year, as well as beyond, and b) what the Bills do with their O-line and draft picks. No one knows at this time. But there was a real risk in paying Peters $11.5M/year given his injuries the past 2 years and the season he had last year.
  8. It might be all of the above, plus the Bills cutting Dockery, who I believe was the only player Peters had any contact with last off-season during his holdout. I've heard McNally leaving was hard for him.
  9. I know nothing about Matt Williamson (other than he works for Scouts, Inc.). Is his opinion supposed to be believed as gospel? What if Peters' groin injury at the end of 2007 robbed him of some of his athleticism, causing him to struggle more than missing the off-season? Is everyone who thinks that the Bills made a mistake so sure that it just was missing the off-season that led to his poor performance? IMNSHO, that's a huge assumption.
  10. Or before he shredded his groin.
  11. Lynch ran better to the right than the left last year (6.1 versus 5.1). For Freddy, he ran much better to the left (6.2 versus 3.2) but ran only 10 times to the left and 6 times to the right, compared to 20 times each side for Lynch. What does this mean? Who knows?
  12. As I mentioned in my post above, the Pats allegedly eschewed a 1st rounder for Cassel because 2nd rounders are cheaper. And more than a few people bought it, and agreed with it.
  13. Another thing to consider is maybe that torn groin suffered at the end of the 2007 season robbed him of some of his ability?
  14. Who is Mike Freeman? And the first (and so far only) reply to his post was hilarious!
  15. Walker played LT at the beginning of the season and Chambers played LT at the end of the season.
  16. I'd keep Walker at RT, where he's best suited, and give Bell and then Chambers long looks at LT. Then if neither can hack it, put Walker at LT and Chambers or Bell at RT.
  17. It will be interesting to see just how much he wanted out. Reportedly the deal hinges on him working-out a contract with the Eagles. If he takes less than his reported demands of $11.5M/year, he wanted out. And I can't see the Eagles paying him $11.5M a year.
  18. I would have had a bigger problem if Peters had returned to dominance that year, despite the time missed. He didn't. And the all-but-ensured holdout would have left the Bills in another bad position. While I wanted them to keep Peters, it had to be for a reasonable contract. The last thing I wanted to see was $11.5M/year and him looking more like 2008 than 2007. At least this way, the Bills get something, get rid of a distraction, and can move on and try and develop Bell.
  19. Then again, this could be a scenario like how the Pats allegedly didn't want a 1st rounder for Cassel because they cost too much. Naah! I still say the conditional is probably up to a 3rd, maybe even a 2nd.
  20. I was going to post this, but finally had to go workout after delaying it for an hour to monitor the breaking Peters news, before it got too crowded/late at the gym. Going with the 4th rather than the 3rd tells me that the conditional pick is much higher than a 6th rounder. The difference between a 3rd and 4th rounder at the same position of each round is about 100 points. That's worth an early 4th rounder.
  21. Against it. You don't want to draft in the top-10. I hope the Bills can trade-down from 11th overall, get a couple additional picks, and go from there.
  22. Rhodes plays OL as well? Sign him up! Considering what I've read from Panthers fans, versus what I read from them about Reyes, Vikes fans about Fowler, and Redskins fans about Dockery (who have probably since changed their tune, after the Skins re-signed him), yes.
