Bills Draft History - The Price For Shaheed
GunnerBill replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is genuinely a bit of a point about whether you really want to use a first on a WR in 2026 when the 2027 class looks at this stage potentially epic. I know you were talking half in jest but it isn't a great CB crop (and there is zero chance Beane spends a high pick on a corner this year anyway) but it IS a strong defensive line group. And take it from the man himself - he will "never apologise" for prioritising the defensive line. If I had to put money on the position of the Bills 2026 first round pick right now I'd put it on a defensive lineman. Probably EDGE over DT, but one or the other. -

In 4 years he only out produced Coleman's rookie season in 1 of them. Doesnt give me a lot of confidence that he would be the missing link. -
This is a blip- we WILL re-establish the Constitution of The United States of America I'm not happy with black people though- really your stupid asses had to vote for Donald Trump because you were too prejudiced to vote for a 1/2 black woman??? If you want to propogate a stupidity bias, well you just ***** did it.

You’re doing great. Long day ahead if you don’t get your rest. Absolutely love the work you’ve done with this: Lucid, salient, and in its own way, caring and compassionate. Kudos to you for sharing this masterpiece!

Bills Draft History - The Price For Shaheed
Bill from NYC replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wouldn't get my hopes up so high. There are lots of good defensive tackles and cornerbacks in the upcomming draft. -
Bills WR are 28th ranked in separation 20 yards or more. Any casual football fan can tell you from their couch that the Bills Wr cannot separate. 28th in the NFL- is this acceptable with Josh Allem as your QB?

I know our past interactions and I only want humanity to fking be decent! You get your ass throttled because you just don't approach things from a very smart way, from my perspective (***** that makes sense) You do you- and I've seen what you do- not my problem, and your existence is not my problem as well -
Gloves off? Oh no!! try to get back to sleep

You're actually the dumbest of them all. I tried to spare your stupid as just 'she's just dumb, don't be a dick' but you've come back, stupider than ever- so the gloves are off. -
When did they start wearing short pants? I liked it better when the pants went over the knees. Now they're beginning to look like hockey uniforms, which, much as I love hockey, are the most absurd thing in sports. At least they wear socks, unlike college football.

I said something along those lines a couple of days ago when some of you were crying for a trade upgrade. With consideration to the Bills' cap restrictions and figuring that a lot of the players being dumped would be what amounts to a 9+ game rental, it would be stupid to trade draft picks or other valued men from our roster. Those are the sort of moves that perennial celler-dwellers make. Give Beane credit for considering the long term future and not just a gamble on this season. That said, it's clear from his presser statements that Beane was desperate to upgrade the roster and tried in vain to make a move. Not sure who he had his eye on (anyone here know or care to speculate?) But, getting a good player that can contribute comes with a price. In his estimation, there wasn't a deal that would pay dividends for the future. It's a good bet he was looking for a DT or WR (duh). I'm more inclined to think it was a DT.

Picking up the phone at the 2:45am peepee break is never smart. That said, this is one of your better posts.

Snap the fck out of it!! Get away from these trolls - they are spiraling you into I don't even know what, but you're better than that. -
Did the Chiefs just try to do this or did they not get the memo that the Bills have zero receivers that can get open down field?

Don't forget that Gave ran a 4.54 forty, when he was younger and supposedly fully healthy. He may be useful but he's not going to stretch many defenses on go routes. -
I don't give a ***** what your political affiliations are, there really isn't any existing job which bean-counters won't figure out a way to make unnecessary. personally, I think Artificial Intelligence may just be the stupidest thing I've ever seen or dated, but the layoffs are coming. Believe what you will.

Virginia Governors Race

Younkin has had an extremely successful term. He would have easily been re-elected if Virginia law allowed. He has no responsibility to try to salvage a completely lethargic campaign by the state Rep Party. -
Perspective Matters: The Offense Is Producing
Nihilarian replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall
My take is this OC isn't calling their numbers or scheming those plays for them. What some of you simply don't get is that this OC is all about high percentage plays vs low percentage plays. This low percentage plays take longer to develop as they might include 5-7 step drop backs on deeper throws. What we saw with the Falcons was a high amount of blitzing and the Chiefs attempted to do the same thing and because this time Allen was hitting those short outs and Cook was gaining good yardage on run plays... it didn't work. Josh was sacked 3x and hit 6 times and because the run game worked and the short pass game worked it opened up some mid to deep passes. Moore caught one for 28 yards and Knox caught one for 30 yards, Kincaid caught one for 47 yards. I really don't get all the angst about finding a #1 WR considering the Chiefs have a top 10 defense and are 3rd in pass attempts allowed, 7th in pass yards allowed, 4th in passing TDs allowed. Josh Allen tore them a new one 23 of 26 for 273 yards, 1 TD and an 83.8 QBR. Which by the way is the best QBR for him ever. 10 different receivers caught passes and that is literally insane...everybody ate! And Bills fans who seem to think that this game didn't matter to the Chiefs are nuts as they wanted it just as bad as the Bills. Mahomes was contained and unable to run to make plays and he was hit 15 times. He also had the very worst QBR ever at 50.0. This game mattered to both teams and was huge. -
Value worked out, won’t deny that. I think Addison was gone by that point? I believe the next WR after Kincaid was Jonathon Minho? Yup, that was how it panned out. Not knocking the pick for one second. He’s a solid player, was just weird to give a massive extension to a TE, draft a replacement that essentially turned a high salary guy into a role player.

Bills Draft History - The Price For Shaheed
BillsFanForever19 replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall
First off, I've said this a million times already, but the price wouldn't have been a 4th and a 5th for us. If New Orleans has the option of a 4th and 5th from Seattle or from us - they're going to take (and did take) Seattle's. Our record is the same, yes, but historically we make it further than they do and consistently pick below them. And we have a team led by Josh Allen. So for us to get him, we would have had to have beat Seattle's offer. Which we could only do with a 3rd. But beyond that, I think the even bigger issue was that it was 2 picks in the coming Draft. If it were a pick in 2026 and a pick in 2027, that would have been more palatable. But in a year where we only have 7, dropping 2 of them and only having 5 picks is rough. Especially for a guy you only have for half of a season that is more of a role player than a #1 WR. -
Win now. Who knows what tomorrow brings? For us older Bills fans especially- win now! We aren’t going to be here forever. I’ve been a huge Bills and Sabres fan since early 70s. Me and my fellow older Bills/Sabres know heartbreak deeply. Give us something!

WR room - Minus Amari and Hollins, Plus Palmer. 5-2=3 3+1=4. What happened to our 5th WR? I don’t understand Beanes math. Moore was pulled off the scrap heap, after Beanes tantrum on WGR. So I don’t think there was smart planning for WR room
-
Injuries are all the more reason to add to some help at the trade deadline. The AFC is wide open this year. Why not spend some draft picks and add a WR or some DL help. IMO there is too much focus on the future with this fan base. A lot of that is due to the drought years.
