  1. Past hour
  2. Bernard gave props to LB coach Holcomb in his postgame presser. Apparently they ID'd that exact play as an opportunity for Bernard to get his hands on one. Coach told him if Bernard saw it pre/post-snap to trigger and go get it. Worked perfectly (with a HUGE assist by Walker absolutely beasting on that snap).
  3. Vodka and Tonic for the Saints. We'll see from there.
  4. 1) I saw where Josh continued his discipline of checking down to the shorter throws which is probably a big reason he has only 6 INTs in his last 20 regular season games. 2) Tua's depth of target was short and he was not holding onto the ball. Difficult? 31 points and a missed field goal. 360 yards... 6.3 yards per play... 6/11 on 3rd down. Not sure what you're attempting to say. I thought it was a great game with two divisional foes going at it hard. It was a quality win in my book. Whatever you say. The Bills played poor 3rd down defense... that's my one criticism. The Dolphins only had 276 yards of offense. That's a small number for those who don't know. They had us on the ropes? Was that when we were punting from midfield with over 10 minutes left tied at 21? Or was it when we intercepted Tua with 3 minutes left while leading by 7? The Bills scored 31 points and missed a field goal. They had 360 yards, were 6/11 on 3rd downs, and averaged 6.3 yards per play... with 4 dropped passes. Are you sure the Dolphins stymied us? As knowledgable Bills fans here have been saying for months, the team signed multiple significant defensive free agents (Bosa, Hoecht, Ogunjobi, Shaq) not to mention Tre White and Dane Jackson. They drafted 6 significant rookie defenders in Hairston, Sanders, Walker, Hancock, and Strong. They have a new Senior Defensive Assistant and Co-Defensive Line Coach. The defense was never going to hit the ground running... they are expected to improve over the course of the season. If you're talking about the running game, the Bills rushed 27 times for 157 yards and averaged 5.8 yards per rush. That's elite. Our defense gave up 276 yards, 21 points, and 19 first downs to a team with 3 elite skill position players... Hill, Waddle, and Achane. Their QB was having an excellent game before the Bills FORCED the interception with Walker immediately in Tua's face and Bernard reading the play. The defense played poorly on 3rd down but they assuredly did not suck. It's really sad to read some of the comments in this thread... revealing so little understanding and perspective... and so much entitlement. Two of the best receivers in the NFL combined for 10 catches and 88 yards and 2 TDs. Not bad. Dalton Kincaid by himself had 66 yards and a TD. The Dolphins scored 1 TD in the 2nd half. You should try to read and learn more before posting... unless as the other poster said, you've had too much to drink... then I understand. 31 points and a missed field goal. 360 yards... 6.3 yards per play... 6/11 on 3rd down. Good points. Yes our 3rd down defense was poor and yes, Groot is a disappointment. The defense kept the ball in front of them and gave up points in the 2nd half. They didn't give up many points or many yards. And as I wrote upthread, they're gonna get better. One of the Bills drives you mention (in the 3rd quarter) ended when Coleman and then Ty Johnson dropped perfect throws. As far as attacking deep offensively, Josh is not forcing the ball down the field which is partly why the Bills never turn the ball over anymore. In fact on the pass to Elijah Moore to convert the 2nd and 16, Josh had Keon open deeper but made the easier throw. Thank you very much! Yes, everyone here's always bagging Andy Reid for keeping a little in reserve but when the Bills play a conservative game, they suck. No one can clap with McD!!! Thank you Sage. You really would have thought the Bills lost the game reading all the shyt here. Exactly... thank you. Yes, because as we know, you can declare a rookie a bust after the 3rd game of their career. Thank you for some much needed context. It's as if people can't remember before this preseason... much less the 17 drought years.
  5. got it. So the argument is in the 4th quarter after losing our lead against a team in the division/conference (all those tie breakers count extra) that we were strategically punting back to them for lack any real pressure - not that it was a case of our offense struggling to get anything more than 5 yards down field, but simply complimentary football still hopefully when we need the play later down the road- or maybe several of those plays - they are in fact readily available
  6. Groot hasn’t had much in terms of splashy plays. He looked to set the edge well against the Jets, I think he also had a knock down against the Ravens. Thursday games I just write off. I will give Groot a couple of more games on normal days before I panic.
  7. That swim forced a half-blind throw from a Tua in full retreat which Bernard was getting hands on regardless.
  8. We all have our systems. Don't change it if it's working!
  9. He did, just like last game vs Jets.
  10. To me that video shows he tipped the ball slightly and affected the ball very so slightly towards Bernard. Either way it’s a phenomenal play by the rookie.
  11. That's a concern for me. He struggled hauling some of those in last year and he doesn't seem to be securing them at a particularly high rate so far this year. It should get better as he gets better, but I'm worried that it also should have gotten a little better already.
  12. I would like to see a few more games before saying the Bills have a passing game issue. I think the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. But these Thursday games aren’t great barometers for how teams actually are because teams shouldn’t be playing on Thursday’s after playing Sundays
  13. Didn’t like all of Brady’s calls, but I never do. 0 turnovers in 3 games and averaging 34 points per game - a formula that will win you 95% of games. Good to see shavers get a couple of big catches. He’s got 4.3 speed, maybe we can design a play to get him deep. good problems to have, but we’ll have some hard roster decisions when the 2 PED boys come off suspension and Hairston and bass come off of IR. Thinking can Lewis and maybe codringron get cut??
  14. I drank vodka and tonic for the Jets game, and Canadian Beer only sold in Canada for the Ravens game. One of those two will be my choice for the rest of the season.
  15. Interesting. Need to squib/soccer kick it!
  16. Not sure he tipped it, but McDermott and Tua both talked about Walker getting his hands up affecting the throw. So it was a big contribution on that play no matter what.
  17. I've been drinking that or vodka and tea for about 30 years now. I wouldn't know how to act if I didn't.
  18. Not sure Ogunjobi will make a huge difference. Agree on the other two players.
  19. The trick is to try to get it to bounce so that if it's downed in the endzone after hitting the landing zone, it gets placed at the 20.
  20. Very, very encouraging.
  21. I don’t think I’ve noticed him once in 3 games.
  22. The one field goal miss took away the extra breathing room.
  23. He was on the field for the first play. Man, if we hit on this kid, it’ll likely be a home run.
  24. throwing a few 20 yard passes to wide receivers isn’t super man. In fact, giving him a wr who can do that without him having to act like super man is the entire point of the thread. you can support the general philosophy without being totally disingenuous about the push back you are receiving
  25. Larry O I am not that excited about. He seems like such a JAG at this stage of his career. But Hoecht is needed they need to get Bosa less snaps to keep him healthy and Hoecht offers good versatility only 3 games left before they return
