A Few Thoughts about the Panthers Game - Community Edition
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've noticed we use our motion very conservatively as a man coverage "tell". I think teams are using this to their advantage. Other teams use motion in conjunction with their passing attack, and that is often where the confusion and mistakes happen that lead to wide open guys. -
Not with what Walker has shown so far 7 games into his career and accounting for $25+ million of salary cap space into your roster over the next 2 years, plus trying to figure out how to fit the contract in this year on top of that which would be next to impossible. Decisions are not made in vacuums like in Madden. They are made when looking at the difference between the two players when accounting for potential growth and the cost difference between the two players related to the performance difference. It's hard to argue Williams is having as big an impact as Walker is when his team is one of the worst defenses in the NFL even as they are loaded with "so called" stars.

I don’t think he has much value. He’s washed.
-
Giving history I’d take my chances with KC over the Jax the rest of the way to make it.

Glad to see he has some forethought of the future some GMs don't and you end up in cap hell.

Was thinking including Milano

Why not throw Sydney Sweeney or prime Demi Moore in for good measure? 🤷♂️ -

why are there so many people saying games don't matter in the regular season? lol even if Superbowl or bust are your expectations, you can't get there if you miss the playoffs 😑. Huge game, always competitive.. should be fun -
Hey it’s the jets! You never know.
-
Hopefully the world puts their money where their prayers are... How about we rebuild them better than ever! Better than the rest... Everyone, especially the one's down on their luck need a benefactor! 👍
-
Not that hard. Teams restructure contracts and move money around all the time to make these things happen. But there is a price (down the road). Beane is conservative and doesn’t want to pay that price down the road
-
This trade wouldn't even go through in Madden. You're looking at 4 1st round picks + more for this deal

Did you miss the 'trade the broken Ed Oliver' one? 🤔 -
and where exactly we going to get the cap room to add these guys?

In order for KC to be out of the playoffs you’d have to count on Baltimore coming back and Pitt retreating, but not too much. Then you’d have to count on Jax to outperform KC the rest of the way. I’d take my chances with KC in that scenario. How I see it for the AFC playoffs… Buf and NE in the East Pitt (or Balt but not both) in the North Indy in the South KC, Chargers, Den in the West The only solid detriment for KC losing this Sunday would be out of contention for the #1 seed. If they win this Sunday that’s still in play, no matter how slim.
-
Very excited for Sunday, but there is no game in 2025 that really actually matters. Our job is to get to January healthy, peaking, and ideally with as high a seed as possible. They will need to hype this game for ratings, but we aren't on top of the world if we win it, and we aren't ruined if we don't. We are good enough to focus on going 1-0 each week, and playing good football and not worrying about the details beyond that. Good prep game to see what our defense can do and not always hope Josh can 38-35 these guys, but everybody get ready for way more reaction/over-reaction to whichever outcome happens than this game deserves.

I’d trade a potential all-pro for a verified all-pro all day every day.

Jets GM on the phone with Beane, tears in his eyes, tells him to go bring it home as he hits the "Accept Trade" button. -
The the Chiefs are 3rd in the AFC West and only hold that spot because the Jaguars had a bye week and had they played and won they'd hold it? Or the Chiefs have a 2-2 Conference record which is the worst of those teams in the playoffs now? I won't doubt the Chiefs have been good these last 3 weeks but if the Bills do beat them this weekend it's going to hurt their chances quite a bit. Granted Denver's lost Surtain for a spell which may make their games against them coming up easier but Chiefs got hurt last night with Bolton and Pachecho going down too.
-
I think your 3 wildcards will be 2 teams from the West and one from the East. Jags will battle with whoever the 3rd AFC West team is for the 7th spot.

5-2 and the world has ended

My god, do you hear that? It’s Gabe Davis’ music!
hondo in seattle replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't disagree with using Gabe instead of, say, Shavers. I simply don't think it's going to make much of a difference if Gabe is on the field or not. Gabe is recovering from a serious injury, runs a limited route tree, doesn't possess blazing speed even when fully healthy, isn't great at separation, and doesn't always seem to be on the same page as Josh. None of our current wideouts are making a difference. Gabe won't change that. Not the way Brady schemes and calls a downfield passing game. These are both good points I hadn't considered. So maybe Gabe, if fully recovered, will make a small difference. -
I'm not trading Deone Walker. Dude is potentially an All-Pro caliber player next year on a rookie contract
