You'll never be order 6-7 at In and Out Burger

I had to look this up to see what it is about. I guess I am officially old and out of touch. -
Has Josh Allen put himself back in the race for MVP this year??
agilen replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Maye and Allen are going to cancel each other out. Allen will outplay Maye this weekend and we'll win comfortably, but the Pats will win the division due to the tiebreakers so heavily favoring them (they'll only lose one more game). But the voters will see Allen going 6-0 down the stretch while Maye goes 3-2, so they won't give it to Maye, but Allen won't get it because he doesn't win his division. Its Stafford's award this year; he'd have to lay an egg against both Detroit and Seattle to lose it. -
pick #173…. I’ll take it

There’s something different about McD this season…

Great post, Sean is absolutely a great man and I hope he gets us there too. The WR move MUST happen, or I fear Allen will have second thoughts about wanting to here his entire career. Tim Graham just wants to cause trouble. Engagement farming and combative posts to fans on X. -
A Few Thoughts about the Bengals Game - Community Edition
BRH replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have seen this screenshot shared elsewhere but no one is providing any video. Does anyone know specifically which play this was so I can go look at the A22? Bengals fans are claiming, of course, that the defender "lost his balance in the snow and was falling backward." I think that's BS but without video it's hard to say with 100% certainty. If it's really a leg whip then the Bills ought to be alerting the league. -
That indoor turf is good for pass rushers who rely on explosiveness and fast twitch. Playing OP in the cold will slightly slow them down, which is hugely helpful in PassPro (pass rushers are athletic monsters. Anything to slow them down is helpful)

If things end badly, then I would not be shocked if Beane is let go. I read the Tim Graham post as the big hint of tension in that relationship. -

The best thing McDermott did in this game is get out of Allen's way. I don't mean that in an underhanded way, I mean he genuinely just let Allen go win the game for him by being aggressive with 4th downs and the 3rd and 15 call on the final drive. I think McDermott from a couple years ago would have run on that 3rd down and trusted his defense to win the game for him. I want so bad for McDermott to be the coach that gets us there. He's a good man and he could never be accused of not giving the job his all. I've seen him learn from his mistakes, albeit at a much slower pace than I would like. His fatal flaw has been that he clenches up in high leverage moments in critical games. It remains to be seen if he can overcome that flaw in playoff games but I will say this year there haven't been any glaring head scratching moments from him at the end of games. I want to be optimistic but this season is unfolding in an identical manner to pretty much every other season we've had since 2020 so I have to see it happen when it counts to really believe it. I think McDermott and Beane both know at this point the teambuilding strategy on offense was a bust. I expect them both back next year and I expect a big move for a WR no matter how this season ends. Similar to my thoughts above I wish it didn't take them until the edge of disaster to realize their mistake but I don't think they're so stupid that they're going to let the mistake repeat itself next year. -
He is so far past Lee Smith already.

I think as others have pointed out we have a lot of pretty good players but very little elite talent. And the biggest problem and mistake is we've paid some good but not great players high end money. That's gotta get rectified. Beane has to get more comfortable with letting his own draft picks walk when necessary. Based on our talent level we should not be near the cap. I also wish he'd be more aggressive trading. Not dinky trade ups or trade downs. Some GM's over value draft picks. Use them to bring in top level talent other teams are trying to offload.
-
dude blocks at an elite level and is getting open at critical moments. MASSIVE win for Beane on this pick

For those who like to study all-22, is Hawes a much better blocker than Knox?
-
If they do play them in the playoffs then I hope, it's in OP. For whatever reason the Bills can't seem to win in Houston.
-
There are plenty of examples where Beane has fallen short. A reasonable argument can be made that he's fallen short in this area as well. Look at the mid season acquisitions he has made the last few seasons. Consistently signing WRs because the roster isn't good, linebackers and defensive tackles off their couches. The theme for several years is the Bills have issues stopping the run, can't generate a consistent pass rush, and has a serious WR problem especially at the X position. Imho, the depth hasn't been good in any of these areas. Lastly, he's always made the decision to go cheap at the backup QB position. Thus far, the depth at that position hasn't been tested. With that said, if Allen goes done for an extended period of time you can kiss the season goodbye. In short, I think you are giving Beane too much credit here. He really missed his opportunities to upgrade the team when Allen was on his rookie contract!!! Now he is handicapped and has limited opportunities. He created it.

I'm not going to lie, my favorite part of when things start going sideways is when the finger pointing starts.........we're not there yet, but i'm willing to bet that when "the process" has run its course, there'll be pointing a-plenty.

Colts to bring in ….Philip Rivers for workout UPDATE: Signed to PS
agilen replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
You are right, I do know know what River's workout regime looks like, and I do not know the details of NFL conditioning programs. But I do see another former NFL QB of a similar vintage at my gym most days. He's not doing anything different than any of us other 40-somethings; just doing his own thing to stay in shape. I can't imagine Josh Allen or Aaron Rogers does anything in the gym without the eyes of a very experienced trainer with a very prescriptive program to get them through at 60-minute NFL game each week. -
MNF: Eagles vs. Chargers (no Bills stuff please)
dollars 2 donuts replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cray, I hear you, but just as a point in detail, and not for team, but just for example purposes… If you ask me do I want to play in January the KC Chiefs, Houston or New England I am taking the Chiefs without even blinking. Because I don’t think this is a “don’t poke the bear” moment. I think there is something wrong with them. and I know, first hand, that Houston can beat us with their backup QB, throw our QB to the ground, and also the Pats just plain aren’t imploding after 10 or so straight weeks. I can’t go by the memory of what someone once did. You gotta be prepared for what’s ahead. -
you humps are ALL effing wrong...at his best only half as good as Ertz...and if he doenst develop some pass-catching skills we can always move him to safety.
-
To me it would first require bills win the division over the patriots. So bills win out, and pats lose to buffalo and miami (i think this works or is close, but don't quote me). I'd also say that it would require that the rams finish a WC, and ideally with a worse record than Buffalo at 13-4. If that happened - Odd's aren't bad that buffalo is 1 in the conference (maybe 2 if denver tops in tiebreakers). And I would think Allen would have had a great stretch of games to get the team there.

How can we spend so much draft capital on our D and still have it suspect every year?.........and don't even get me started on our WR's. We've had many opportunities to hit the talent pool on both sides of the ball and always go with the mediocre, middle of the road option. UGH -
If the Bills play houston again, I think Joe Brady will have learned his lesson on islanding his tackles as often as he did
