I just took a look at Allen's sacks. 2nd and 12 in the red zone, Texans rush 4 and get pressure pretty quickly. Allen should have thrown it to Knox for a 2 yard gain, but I kind of understand why he didn't (would have been 3rd and long either way). 3rd and 6, Texans show pressure but only rush 4. You can tell the pressure is getting to Allen because he takes a super deep drop back but Spencer Brown gets beat bad immediately. Allen escapes the initial pressure but it's a busted play at that point. Pressure was so fast none of the routes had a chance. This was his ridiculous 18 yard sack. 3rd and 6, Texans show pressure but only rush 4. Texans run a stunt that messes up our guards/center. Shakir was open, but Allen was already evading pressure when he broke out of his route. Ty Johnson was the safety valve, but the Texans covered it. RT gave up on his block and DE ended up chasing Allen down from behind. 1st and 10, Texans bring a corner blitz. Gilliam doesn't do a very good job and Allen has to immediately try to go up and to the right in the pocket to escape. LBer brings a delayed blitz and cleans up. I can't see downfield, but the Texans brought 6 rushers here (but Allen did keep Gilliam back to protect), so you'd have to think something was open. No safety valve or blitz beater route I could see). 2nd and 5, Texans bring 4. All of the routes are super deep other than an underneath route 2 yards past the LOS covered by 2 LBers. Both the RT and LT get beat like a drum here. This play had zero chance, and the sack was from the blind side. I don't think Allen should have to anticipate Dawkins getting beat like that. 1st and 10, Texans bring 4. Allen saw the bubble screen to Shakir was totally covered and opted to run. He probably should have just thrown this one at his feet. Edwards got beat bad closing the running lane Allen was trying to run through to scramble. 2nd and 10 (1 minute left last drive), Texans bring 4. Seems like Allen is looking for a specific deep route but doesn't pull the trigger, Knox is just uncovering when he bails, Cook is a safety valve but has a Texan on him and isn't a viable target here. Edwards gets beat causing Allen to turn the wrong way into the pressure. Honestly this one is kind of a play design fail and Allen is seeing ghosts here. There is also a delayed blitz/spy on this call but it doesn't really matter he's already down before the blitz arrives 3rd and 20 (1 minute left last drive), Texans bring 3 (really 4, but the 4th doesn't seem to rush). Right tackle and left tackle are both immediately beat. This is absolutely embarrassing. You have 5 blockers for 3 rushers and let 2 through clean before Allen's back foot hits on his drop back. The play is immediately dead and Allen has to bail. That 4th rusher plus a spy clean up. So I would say sack #1 he should have thrown to Knox for a 2 yard gain or thrown it away. On sack #4 it's possible somebody should be just starting to become open before he eats it due to the blitz. On sack #6 he probably should have just thrown to the feet of Shakir. The other sacks he had basically zero chance due to play design, down/distance, and offensive line play. For almost all of these the Texans are only rushing 4 and not blitzing. Usually there is also a spy (usually LBer number zero). Another theme is that immediate pressure leads to a busted play. It doesn't really matter if anybody is open (I don't think they are) because at that point Allen's eyes are no longer down field, he's just trying to stay upright. A few of these plays had safety valves, but for the most part they were totally covered and no viable (probably because Houston was getting pressure just rushing 4). This game was basically Mahomes in the Super Bowl last year, except I think Allen handled the pressure a little better. -
I didn't see a lot of those "easy plays" Allen was skipping tonight did you? And I recall one drive when the Bills got to the 35 and then proceeded to run Cook 4 straight times and couldn't get the first down at a critical moment in the game.

I get that this play wouldnt have mattered, but in the moment, why doesn't Josh throw this to Knox? I mean he's wide open for an easy first and possibly scores? Again it wouldn't have mattered but still...I feel like this has been happening ALOT this year where Josh isnt seeing open stuff. -

Dude that's what is coming out of the media to make you feel like we got hosed If they wouldn't take a 2027 first round pick and a third round pick for waddle they weren't taking nothing from the Buffalo Bills.. in fact I was adamant they would never trade him to us anyways where they're 60 year rival But they would do is tell the media that we would have done it if they gave us a little more lol that's a double f you to fans They would never trade us waddle and I'm 100% certain if another NFC team offered them a 2027 first round pick and a third round pick in 2026 they would take the deal -

Yet good enough to make playoffs. This is the Super Bowl or Bust crowd, yeah? After the 3rd week, y'all should have known that we're not Super Bowl worthy. Again, that doesn't matter though. Just make playoffs anyway. -

“The Bills offense needed a drive. The unit had struggled throughout, but with 2:48 left in the game, the reigning MVP got the ball back at his own 18-yard line.” just like Bills offense last 2 playoffs at the end of the game, and they struggled then too. Waddle for a 2026 1st would have solved that. Miami agreed. Beane wouldn’t pay 😡 -

The problem with Diggs was that he faded at the end of the season, and in the last few playoff games, he was basically useless. Many here wanted Buffalo to sign DK Metcalf for 30 mill per, and look at what he's doing in Pittsburgh: 8 targets, 5 receptions for 49 yards. That a 30 million dollar player, and he has had games like this most of the season. Ja'Marr Chase stated he wants out of Cincy, and is tired of all the losing. -

I thought he has the opportunity to get rid of a few otherwise He got sacked 8 times and lost 70 yards … would the grounding calls been a worse result ? -

No loser mentality at all. They just aren’t good. I think they’ll be one and done if they get in. Just my opinion -

The problem with throwing the ball away is for most of those sacks he would have been nailed for intentional grounding. This isn't the first time this season the O line has struggled in pass pro but it was the worst. And I suspect it will only get worse as every team going forward plays one high safety and 10 guys all within 7 yards of the LOS. -

Well that's the thing Daniel Jones had 4 year 160 million contract giants too but he's trash he didn't deserve that There are like three or four quarterbacks in the world who have earned the right to chew out players Josh Allen and Patrick mahomes are absolutely two people who have earned the right to lay into their teammates.. just like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning Yes we need to give him more people around him.. we want Josh to be the best ever and we say he's the best ever? You cannot say he's a better leader than Tom Brady or Peyton Manning at 29 right now He might be better at everything else but those guys held everybody accountable because they earned it and their work ethnic let them.. Josh has the gold captain icon... He's the MVP he is Buffalo He should be able to yell it lineman wide receivers whoever and get their head into the game Peyton Manning laid into Hall of famers when their head wasn't in it Josh has earned it -

So what? Just get in the playoffs, brahs. If y'all don't want us to be in the playoffs, might as well stop supporting the team. And don't bother watching the playoffs when we land into Wildcard Weekend. First, some of y'all wanted to bench Josh Allen. Now, y'all don't want to make playoffs. What happened here? The Loser Mentality is creeping in. -

Disagree, a lot of QB's are in that 300 - 400 million range now and some are vocal and some aren't. But what I can say about all of them is that Allen has by far the weakest group of offensive skill players surrounding him. No offense but when you invest 350 million dollars into your QB you best prioritize surrounding him with the best possible talent & coaching. To do anything other then that is football malpractice. -

The offensive line losing getting this demolished as much as they did shocked me. Allen's also got to throw the darn ball away too. He was so much better at that last year. -

That's the difference Josh feels like he's this underdog cuz he didn't have a high school scholarship But He was a top 10 NFL pick .. would have probably been the number one pick if he came out the year before Everybody saw his talent once he blossomed.. the problem was he was so green it was 50/50 if he was going to be able to correct his flaws Which might I add as a scout still I've always said Josh Allen is eight bad games in a row away from reverting to bad form... Like 1/2 of a season being beat up and all his mechanics that he's cleaned up can go away He's not guaranteed to be the best player in NFL history he still has a lot to grow.. which is amazing because he is the most talented player I've ever seen He should embrace his dog status.. he's the alpha male of the Wolfpack... Brady's the reverse opposite.. he was actually a pretty big high school recruit.. Michigan a blue blood did offer him a scholarship.. he was a top 20 quarterback recruit... Even though he went there with the nation's number one in the same class which made people doubt him So he was actually touted out of high school.. he was also drafted to the majors in baseball... So Brady's a freak athlete despite his weird frame.. his intangible athleticism which is basically impossible to measure is off the charts.. consistently critiquing and getting better But he used his 198th overall draft pick slot to fuel his flame for 20 years even though he did go to a blue blood college.. Rose bowl MVP Josh technically has the pedigree with his pick and athleticism... He needs to embrace the dog that he had in him when everybody was calling him trash That's the difference everybody hated him and he proved the world wrong and now he's being called the most talented ever Brady was still never called the most talented over Peyton Manning at 30 which made him work harder -

Perhaps. At least the wild card path puts the chip back on their shoulder some. Maybe they become road warriors. Josh is typically at his best when everyone thinks he blows and he feels like he has to prove the haters wrong. -

WE miss Diggs as a play maker. This may not be popular, but that guy had the knack to get open and give Allen a chance. The same was with Cole. We are missing those guys so badly on this offense. Shakir has also been a BIG disappointment. We paid him money for being a WR and not a catch at scrimmage and try making 5-7 yards (and get lucky once in a while). There were zero slant passes to him to move the chains. -

This team is so Jekyll and Hyde. Getting sick of Brady's predictable play calling. Maybe the wild card path is this team's route to the Super Bowl. Winning the division hasn't been working. One good thing about living in Hawaii and watching a game like this is that it ends before 7 pm, which gives me enough time to process everything so I can actually sleep. Time to take several days off from this board. Gonna suck here.
