Trump is following the authoritarian playbook very well. He's successfully created an "enemy" in all people of Hispanic or Latin American origin. He's pushed them with his ICE gestapo to fight back. It works because old people and rurals are terrified of change. They fear anything different. Now, he's got a route to start crushing protests with the military. This will lead to more protests, which Trump can then use more troops on. Eventually, he's going to have a route to use the Insurrection Act and really crack down. How funny that the party of "small government" cheers it on! It will be rough. But liberalism will win. It always does.
