I would not be upset with this pick. I would have to agree with you. If he is there at 11 (stranger things have happened) you can't pass up on a pure talent like that. Especially since TO is not guaranteed in 2010 and the jury is still out on Johnson and Hardy. Plus, if we trade Parrish, there's our new PR. Crabtree is probably a Pro Bowler within 3 years IMO. Kudos to him for making things interesting and going against what other mocks have, but this mock almost seems to defy all logic. However, I could see the Bills taking Crabtree and wouldn't have any problem with it at all. WRs take time to develop and TO is only on board for a year, so it makes sense. It's also a case of best-player-available. Crabtree being there at pick 11 constitutes a fall and we'd be silly not to jump all over that. They stunted their growth by taking WR's four years in a row when they had open wounds at other positions like offensive and defensive line. Everyone said Charles Rogers and Mike Williams were going to be all stars too. Meanwhile the Lions picked WR's and ignored other needs. Eventually they got to a point where they went 0-16. We have seven WR's on the roster, six of them in their 20's. We do *not* need another one...but there are a lot of positions we do need to fill. PASS. Even if the Bills think Crabtree is a top 5 talent, I'd hope they trade down in that scenario. I'd much rather see the Bills take one of the QB's than Crabtree. First of all he's only 6'1" and not the 6'3" he was advertised as before the combine. Also it's been said he's immature and thinks he's already arrived and there is a chance he will coast after getting a big payday. He has a history of foot problems, most recently had surgery on a stress fracture on his foot March 4th. It's a 10 week recovery. Let him go somewhere else. Oh my God. Drafting EXCLUSIVELY on need is a chump's game. Drafting "the best player available" is nearly meaningless without including need as context. But CJ is gonna be a hall of famer. He is crazy good. They've been a total mess for years, but ignoring the lines and QB was their main problem. TO is a 1 year deal/experiment. he is 99% chance gone next year unless he has an epithany and loves buffalo... james hardy needs to show improvement, he may never develop into what we hope/want him to become. and right there our wr corps is already back to being increadibly average at best. Add crabtree and he would immediatly solidify the position. he is not the bills biggest need by any stretch of the imagination but if he is there i would have a hard time saying no to the idea... unless raji was still floating around i think it's increadibly possible crabtree might still be there. There are some who think he isn't the best WR in the draft. And for him to fall to #11, it is likely one, or even two WRs have already been picked.
