yall Posted April 6, 2007 Share Posted April 6, 2007 Nothing earth shattering here, but got some mild "scoops" (if you could even call them that) on Everett and Thomas yesterday. One of my friends works at the casino in the Falls and sees a lot of the Bills on a regular basis. He mentioned that Everett, who is a regular, looks like he packed on about 20 pounds of muscle and looks "way more cut up and chiseled" according to him. He also mentioned that Thomas was a true gentleman, and is one of the nicest/classiest people that he has met. I hope he has dedicated himself, because it would be disappointing if he becomes (remains) a 3rd round bust. Gordio Posted April 6, 2007 Share Posted April 6, 2007 the lack of impact that Everret has made is a head scratcher. I remember him coming out of college was a tremendous athlete that is a little raw. I remember even his tightend coach from the U saying he thought that Everett has more upside then both Shockey & Winslow. Injury 3. not a good inline blocker too light at 240 - now he has said he is really spending time with the playbook, he has put on some good weight, and the injury is suppose to be 100% healed so who knows maybe he's going to show something this year- but it was his inability to grasp the playbook that made him such a big zero last year- contary to popular belief you can't be a great football player and a total dumba$$ at the same time. Yeah, I heard that he and Willis took the same readin and writin classes at the U, and that they studied the Bills playbook together. The only upside so far on Everett is that he has not B word slapped the Buffalo women. Maybe Everett will finally emerge now that his mentor is gone to greener pastures. Disappointment he may be to date, he was the 2nd of their six players picked in '05. And Bflo. wasn't the only team who had him on their list that year. Roscoe Parrish, Duke Preston are still here from that draft class. Eric King, Justin Geisinger (not sure), Lionel Gates - having been shown the door. A Miami guy who goes out while he is WNY! True, I hadn't thought about that! One thing I've learned from the casino folks I know, a good portion of the Bills are regular at the casino. He used to tell me what a horrible gambler Travis Henry was, and that he would make the dumbest bets. One thing about Everett that he said was pretty funny happened earlier last year. My friend picked up KE in a late round in his fantasy draft, as a backup TE, but eventually dropped him. One day his fiancee (also a casino dealer) had KE at a table and he wasn't tipping well so she apparently let him know that her man "just dropped you from his fantasy team". Always makes me laugh.
