SDS Posted March 12, 2007 Share Posted March 12, 2007 I'm not sure of the cause, but the last several weeks we have seen a large spike in traffic. We are seeing year over year activity increasing between 100% and 200%!!! Aye Carumba! We have been pushing more GB's per day the past two weeks than we did on Draft Day last year - annually our biggest day of the year. I feel like we got slashdotted or something... With that said, we upgraded several software packages to their latest versions and tweaked some others in hopes to wring some additional performance out of this puppy. I have RFQ's out for new hardware in hopes to eliminate bottlenecks. Hopefully, the Sabres can fulfill their expectations and I would like to be able to meet demand. I'm trying to price out a dual-core Opteron with a 15k RPM SCSI disk and 500GB/mnth of bandwidth. I'll keep you informed of any upcoming changes. Just an FYI.... I'd guess it's fans of teams the Bills have been involved with in FA and those in other AFC East cities checking up on our moves. Should self-correct in a few weeks, I suspect.
