I'm on the fence nerves-wise for this game. I think, while the division is still a possibility, it is a pretty big longshot with only 4 games left. Winning obviously helps that and keeps us in a good spot for the playoffs. The biggest thing is, I would prefer NE not clinch the division against us. If they do it, do it another game ideally lol.

All that said, a loss is not the end of the world with our current record and the seedings and the schedules the other wild cards have to finish the year.

Agreed on all accounts.  Another reason I would like for them to not clinch this weekend as it puts a little pressure on them to keep playing at a high level.

How about being aggressive from the start and not being afraid to send pressure early,  do not allow the Pats to dink and dunk up and down the field while chewing up clock. Don't put themselves in trailing situation,  playing against a young QB on the road they need to get shots/hits and sacks on him early sand get him off his game

Dink and dunk? Maye is perhaps the best deep ball thrower in football THIS season. He goes over your head. What you should be saying is your secondary needs to defend the deep balls. And yes he is young but this is year two not year one. Plenty of second year quarterbacks blossomed that year. Remember many have sophomore slumps (Jayden Daniels, Stroud, etc). Drake Maye did not.. folks forget this IS his second season.

I was happy to see us blitzing more last week (or at least it seemed like it).  It had somewhat mixed results, but that was largely due to how good Burrow is, and how good his receivers are.

Maye has a slower release.  I'd love to see us blitz as much if not more this Sunday.  It will be more effective.

"Drake Maye has been exceptionally effective against the blitz in the 2025 season, leading the NFL in QBR in these situations, showing quick decision-making, accurate throws in tight windows, and excellent pocket navigation, including big plays and touchdowns, demonstrating significant growth in handling pressure despite some early-season sack issues. He excels by taking what defenses give him, spreading the ball, and using his legs when needed, making him a tough quarterback to pressure effectively.

Key Aspects of Maye's Blitz Performance:
• High Efficiency: He ranks among the best in the league (often 1st) in Passer Rating and QBR when facing pressure, according to NextGen Stats and ESPN.
• Quick Release: Maye often gets the ball out quickly (around 2.57 seconds average) against the blitz, preventing sacks and keeping defenders at bay.
• Accurate & Decisive: He fires quick, accurate passes, hitting receivers in tight windows and delivering deep balls, like his touchdown to Kyle Williams against the Giants.
• Pocket Management: Maye effectively navigates pressure, steps up, scrambles when necessary, and protects the ball, showing improved pocket awareness.
• Play-Making Ability: He turns blitzes into big plays, including touchdowns, and distributes the ball effectively to avoid defenses keying on one receiver."

Same.  But he isn't throwing the ball to a trio consisting of Chase, Higgins, and Gesiski.  Diggs, Boutte, and Hollins are, collectively, an above average trio of receiving weapons but they are no where in the realm of the Bengals receivers listed above.  IF Buffalo took Diggs for granted in the first match up, I'm pretty hopeful they won't make the same mistake this Sunday.

Go Bills!!

Boutte, Hollins and Diggs to include Pop Douglass and Kyle Williams run strong, hard routes and don't drop the football. Though not all pro receivers, they run their routes with precison, play with a belief and emotion and are in complete sync with Drake Maye, on some telepathic ish. And yes Stefon Diggs has seem to have revived his career and can get up for games especially personal ones. Lastly, one of the better tight ends for a while now in Hunter Henry who is still playing at a high level. Whatever they are this group plays hard and are an extremely smart bunch.. but also because they aren't Puka Nakua, JJefferson and some of the other household names shows you how superb Drake Maye is and has been.

I feel like the Patriots are the most over rated team in the NFL.  Healthy secondary clamps down their Wrs.  Spy rush will frustrate Maye as it did Mahomes.  Cook has big day and Buffalo knocks New England down a few pegs.   First step of winning the division and finishing where they always do 2nd in the conference.

Like Miles Garrrett having career day in sacks against Maye, did that frustrate Maye?. Or when the bills played him the 1st time and kept blitzing Maye in the 2nd half hoping it would frustrate him and did it?

The bills out gained the Patriots

Had a better third down percentage

The bills had three turnovers and lost by field goal.. that's the difference

If I were that dude… I’d just retire now so it would speed my induction into the Hall of Fame.   Heck with how awesome he is, they may not even make him wait 5yrs.

Maye went about 22 for 30, for 273 yards no picks and a QB rating of like 101 (if I read that right) again i ask. You thinking all it's gonna take to frustrate him is to blitz him...and that was like his 5th game in a hostile environment such as buffalo.

Edit his QBR was 73.

We are trending the right way on the injury front, I would keep Bernard inactive, not wanting to mess with what seems to be working.

This year it really has been a week to week league, i respect the Broncos, Pats and Jags and what they have done so far. We have got to embrace the struggle and rise to the challenge. We are going to be a tough out for anyone in the playoffs whether we are the 1 or the 7.

KC, Baltimore and Cincinnati would be over the moon to be in our position as of now. We got to keep working and clawing to get to where we want to be.

For one I never said anything about the blitz

For two thank you keywords zero touchdowns..  he didn't throw four touchdowns

He threw zero... And we have a lot more film on the Patriots offense over the last 7 8 weeks

Dude you can't anoint a quarterback Year two lol he's going to have plenty of games where he struggles over the next couple of years

And I'm betting one of them is this Sunday

Pats fans are excellent ball washers. Josh Allen is a far better QB than Maye. That makes a difference.

Numbers say otherwise.  This ain't 2024.  I don't care about last year or previous years.

They already are. Way too full themselves, way too serious, just all the basic insecurities of what you'd expect from people who have to live their life vicariously through a place known as beantown
