Expecting some crazy defensive sets Sunday

I’m thinking we might see some crazy stuff out of McD and Babich, with both Epenesa and Bosa not available, and given the quality of their passing game with Burrow back.  Maybe we play a 3-4 look? 3 DL, 2 LB, 6 DB sets?  Lot more blitzing with CBs off the edge, maybe safety blitzes?  With basically just Groot and Solomon not much else to do.

3-4?  From McD?  From a defense that has little to no experience with the 3-4?  Personally, I don't think so. 

 

@oldmanfan, I think you're more creative (i.e. "crazy") than McD.  

 

I mostly expect the typical nickel though with more blitzing than usual.

I think Burrow goes off. This is a mismatch of epic proportions with zero pass rush. Their running game is VERY good as well. Bills need a repeat of the Steelers game on offense IMO, especially with Kincaid out again. The Pats game is looking even more bleak.

The Bengals are 29th in the league in rushing. As a team they have 1062 yards rushing, James Cook as alone has 1,228. If going to make statements at least fact check them first.

You looking at the right Bengals?  Their run game blows.  It's all Burrow.

Chase Brown has been running the ball extremely well of late (since October 16).

Yet his team fails to give him the rock more than 20 times per game. Since October 16 he's had two 100 yards rushing games, the standard of good running games. He doesn't scare me. It's possible he runs all over us but like our chance running over their defense more.

He had a 99 yard game plus the 2 100 yards games like you cited. He has averaged 5.2 ypc or more in 5 of those 6 games. Their running game has been good of late especially for the most pass heavy team.

4-3 front with 3 DTs + 1 DE, with the DT on the strong side. This frees up DEs for pass downs.

I would bring the house on Burrow on every obvious and even non obvious pass plays.  Rough him up like they did Mahomes. Every time we play Burrow he sets up back there and has all day to pick em apart.  The extra coverage doesn’t help.

They're going to have to try some exotic things. But it starts with stopping the run and forcing 2nd/ 3rd and long

 

Allen is going to need to be excellent. The Bengals are going to sell out vs the run 

Would be nice if Rousseau took over the game

The Bengals offensive line is terrible.  It will be disappointing if we can't get pressure even without Bosa.

This is a game Rousseau needs to step up.  AJ needs to do something.  Walker needs to wreck a little in the middle.

More important, every play they turn around and hand him the ball it's on less time they are throwing to Chase or Higgins. I HOPE they try and run the ball

Gonna be a "best defense is a good offense" type of game.

 

Have to score early and often, jump out to an early lead, etc.

I think fox is going to the 53 after slay is put on the did not report list...
