The whole team reminds me of the couple we all know who fell out of love years ago, but are sticking out for the kids even though it means they will never be happy until they finally pull the trigger and get a divorce.

That analogy isn't completely out of place. I see where you are going. The vibe has been off all season this year after a kind of slight overachievement in 2024 which has been odd.

I was so pissed at Dawkins last night that I would consider benching Dawkins against the Steelers to at least start the game or for the first quarter, hell even the game if need be, to send a message.  It was inexcusable effort last night - for a guy who a week ago called out Keon for time for pats on the back is done and its time to grow up, this is unacceptable play from him.

Diggs was this team’s heart.

They lost their heart when they traded him, ironically to the team that kicked our butts last night

Here is the problem with Diggs. He becomes a huge negative when things aren't going well. He would be a nightmare during a season like this.

That being said, he has an edge to him that no one on this team has, and it's an edge they need.

Here's what sucks. It's probably time to start considering your next franchise left tackle. But we also have to find our next franchise WR(s?), LB(s?), another safety, a slot corner, likely a Center, and a Joey Bosa replacement on the D-Line

Maybe less pizza and bowling nights out. Maybe being friends with everyone on the team is overrated.  I am not in the locker room, but my general feeling is there is no player who really holds other players accountable.  Maybe that is not Allen's nature but maybe that needs to change.  I would say the team may need a few Richie Incognito types around. This feel good vibe certainly doesnt look like it is working.  Dawkins doesn't even seem upset at the losses.  Odd stuff.

Diggs was that guy. No one replaced him on or off the field

After is the key word. Have you ever stepped into a ring? Any ring, boxing, wrestling? Hugging after the fight is a sign of respect. Tucking it up after getting torched is quitting.

No different than acknowledging the opponent after the game, but apparently in some sort of fashion many expect Dawkins should still be wanting to throw down…..macho crap.

Have I ever stepped into the ring. When I was about 12 we made a wrestling ring(professional) on our front lawn. So, yes.

Dawkins needed to call himself out last night even if he didn't feel that way. After his comments about Keon, he had a chance to really be a leader and set an example and instead he said if Gabe got his foot down, it's a different conversation. Giving up on blocks, a HUGE/obvious false start penalty, and then not taking any ownership whatsoever just doesn't sit well with me. Then you see him protecting his persona post-game chopping it up with Texans players on the field. I wish like hell they would send a message to Dawkins. But they can't and won't.

I genuinely believe Dawkins biggest priority is protecting his personality with the media. Hell if we won the Super Bowl, his biggest focus would be what to do during the parade and can he be the one who goes to Disney World.

This team is too soft.  Allen is too soft, like Stevie Johnson said h4 needs to be more of an Ahole.

I don't think he is too soft, but I do think he prefers to be "one of the guys" and that is his style of leadership. That is great and it can/does work for a while. But I think ultimately a 30 year old tier 1A QB in the NFL has to really embrace being "The Guy".

If you want a guy like Flacco then you can have Ray Lewis be the last guy out of the tunnel for every home game. When you have a guy like Brady, Brady is the last one out of the tunnel every home game. This is a metaphor not a literal directive, but that is the personality of a tier 1A, 30+ year old starting QB in the NFL.

It doesn't mean he fails, but it should be part of his evolution.

These are the type of players and human beings in general I just cannot tolerate.

He wants to be that vet in the locker room holding Keon accountable, fine. So be it. He's been here enough to earn that. But you and your offensive line mates give up 28 pressures, 8 sacks and you want us to look at Gabe at not coming down with what would have been an amazing catch? Really dude? Really?

Accountability starts with SELF accountability. He's not only clueless, but he shifting blame. How about not false starting on they key 4th and 1 of the game?

Can't guarantee it, but even if the Bills pull it out last night we are probably talking about the Texas sized ass whooping Houston laid on our supposed "top 5 OL" as some here call it

Tone deaf.

This is a bad look. I wish our media would call him out here but they love the Schnowman persona too much

I mean he held up 1v1 for 3.5 seconds against an elite pass rusher and probably gets a holding call if he tries to re-engage after that.

So, standing there instead of chipping a rusher or simply GETTING IN HIS WAY is better? LOL

Also a sign of hypocritical behavior. Dawk wants to call Keon out in effort than lays a complete egg last night? Key penalty on the last play? Dion needs to grow up.

call me crazy but I do t think Josh and McDermott are a particularly good pair to begin with.

and now it feels like a lot of the offense is a Josh fan club instead of guys that will press/challenge him

It just has that “low positive” season lack of fire to win around the whole group

I am a huge proponent of an honest inventory being absolutely critical in order to make changes, and this is.....not exactly honest.

DIons job is to keep the QB clean. He didn't, and that means he shouldn't be talking about anything or anybody else unless he leads with "I didn't hold up my end of the bargain, and it made it more difficult for everybody else".

If that is the sentence before the Gabe Davis comment, then that doesn't bother me. But it's not, so I assume he believes he did a good enough job. He was 1/5 of the group that let the best player in the league get the shirt kicked out of him last night.

Then go directly to Terry and say its me or them.  He holds out or demands a trade this team is nuked from a cap perspective AND Terry better know how the fanbase and media would respond.

Crap like last night further makes me think he will pull a Barry Sanders.  We all see he looks and acts different, and I dont care how much you love something, people and events can steal that passion

Its basically what happened to Andrew Luck too. He got beat up for so long that football wasn't fun anymore

Exactly. And... he realized he was more than just a Quarterback.

It without a doubt sounds to me like he's blowing off the poor job he and his linemates did. Never owns up to it. Doesn't own up to the big false start that turned a 4th and 1 to a 4th and 6 on the last play.

His immaturity and lack of self awareness have been why he has been my second least favorite Bill of this era.
