I wonder if the Bills are mulling over whether to accept that Josh is going to have a short, brilliant career as a multi-threat QB. Or whether they'll keep him in the pocket and try to morph him into a "Dice them up with football IQ" type guy who plays until he's 38-40. My heart wants them to cut him loose and let him play however he wants, knowing he may well be toast by 32 or 33. My head says our window is his career, so his career should be as long as they can make it. I think you hold the Qb run stuff until the home stretch of the season and playoffs. I think they need to lean into what works match up wise. Short week vs the Texans play action early to play with the second level, but this is an inside zone/duo week. Lighter DTs, double team and move. Cook and Davis should have success. No Pitre makes Shakir a problem. New dad high, I think Shakir has his biggest game of his career. Quote

Either he is being benched as punishment for behavior or because they don’t think he’s good enough. It's a combination of both. If his on-field performance was good enough, I'm sure the punishment would have been less (see Dallas benching Ceedee Lamb for one play). Not sure how benching a bad player reflects badly on the Buffalo Bills organization though? Is it a better option to force him into the lineup, just because of his draft position? 10 hours ago, Lionel Hutz said: I hear all the time when he is criticized for poor coaching that McD is a great leader of men. Well how come he can’t handle Coleman? This coming after how Elam was handled by McD. McD doesn’t want to win at any cost, he wants to win on his terms. How exactly is Sean McDermott supposed to "handle" an adult who refuses to show up to his job? I've never quite understood the concept that a coach was responsible for controlling the behavior of his players, especially off the field. There are teams (such as Kansas City) who just sweep problematic behavior under the rug and pretend it doesn't exist. That doesn't mean they are doing a better job of handling it. And all franchises eventually get tired of the distractions. See Pittsburgh with Antonio Brown, Dallas and Philadelphia with Terrell Owens, New England with Randy Moss. Elam is a totally different story. If you haven't been following him since the trade to Dallas, he's been an absolute mess. McDermott was right about starting Christian Benford over him from Day 1, and was right that he wasn't good enough to play. 10 hours ago, Lionel Hutz said: Beane also deserves blame for picking these guys and not admitting he made mistakes. Yes, Beane deserves the blame for picking them. Not arguing that at all. Quote
