Let's take a second to appreciate James Cook

I always thought he had tremendous talent.. with the way the salary cap is in the league I wasn't sure how much we could pay him... I thought 10 11 12 was maximum 

 

In our system with our team James Cook is worth every penny.. tremendous draft pick... Tremendous scouting for system fit 

 

Closest thing since a Chris Johnson since Chris Johnson 

 

He's on Pace for over 1800 yd and like 14 touchdowns... All pro 

 

This is going to prolong Josh's career and prolong the bills window... Having this kid who's going to be on a tear for the next 3 or 4 years 

 

His vision and speed and even finishing power all shines every Sunday... He runs effortlessly, he makes people miss in a phone booth.. he's knocking helmets off 

 

James Cook like Thurman is going to run us into the Super bowl powered behind this offensive line captained by Josh Allen

 

He's playing like an all pro

I couldn’t have said it better myself.  He’s a treat to watch.  Behind our OL, he’s the perfect back.  I just wish we’d get to see him in the pass game more.  Maybe we’re saving that stuff for the playoffs

Not to keep receipts but I never understood the we can’t afford him. I’d rather pay Jimbo 15 million and cut Dawson Knox or any number of other guys than give him up.

 

His vision speed power and elusiveness is a combo I’ve never quite seen before.

 

And his actions speak louder than words, one word at time style is awesome. He’s no chirper.

We showed it in the game against the Chiefs....something that we should have done in the 4th quarter in the AFCC and that result would have been different.

Cook's vision is absolutely elite. That is always what wins for running backs. A bit of speed is nice too. Size is good if you can find it. But vision always wins. He was underrated the last two seasons by a large chunk of Bills fans. He is without doubt a top 5 back.

Absolutely we have both always agreed his vision is as good as it comes .. truly elite 

 

He never looks flustered , never a wasted movement , he trusts his vision no hesitation... Everything about his running style before you even get into his physical attributes is elite

That's why I'm man enough to come here and admit he's worth every penny and more rn

 

I just didn't want to give a running back 15 million dollars a year who doesn't look like a traditional thoroughbred and hasn't done much blocking

 

And he has continued to get better and better

 

I'm afraid about getting running backs long contracts because they don't age well but he's absolutely electric and like I said worth every penny

I said they should let him walk because I thought they shouldn’t pay him more than $12.5M per year and there were rumors he wanted $15-20M. He ended up signing for just under $12M per year and is now playing like the best RB we’ve had since Thurman. Only thing I’m eating is wagyu and caviar.
