I was not at the stadium but maybe the players were surprised and were getting off the field? In that case, a timeout maybe necessary, just like the timeout call before the half that stopped the Chiefs from scoring a TD, which, had they scored a TD, it would be blamed on McDermott for the timeout. I don't agree with the strategy of playing coverage, but I would certainly blame on player execution. All-22 probably would tell us more. On Bosa though, I think he should know he made a mistake. It's 4th and 17. Converting that on a screen is a very very low possibility vs Mahome passing downfield. Quote

We just had a huge win as home dogs over the hot streaking Chiefs, own the tiebreaker and dudes are harping on why we gave up a 4th and 17. Poor bastards, they're cursed to never really feel joy. 1 Quote

I don't hate him but that single issue means that if I ever sit next to him on a plane, he's going to punch me for sure. Was that one of the plays where there were alignment/communication issues? It’s all a blur lol. Not that he hasn’t called a timeout to draw something up that didn’t work before though anyway 😂 Quote

I'm not absolving the coaching entirely. I just don't know who. Mistakes like Bosa made certainly make Bills defensive coaches look bad. Monday thru Saturdays' the coaches should prepare players about all situations. Defending 4th and very long should be on the list, especially for Chiefs. Know the situation, and know what to expect. And you can also add in yet another in the 2nd half where he insists on rescuing an opponent from themselves on a crucial down. The man is clearly a true and generous sportsman. 1 Quote
gobills404 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Could’ve been an easy sack but the pass protection was so bad that Bosa (bottom of the screen) didn’t know what to think of it lol Quote

Last afccg broke me, the last straw if you will. I won't feel "joy" until the Bills beat KC in the playoffs. Quote

He was chipped and left unblocked...and promptly forgot how to run. He froze.if he bears down on the rush he plants Mahomes in the turf ...or hurries that throw. It looked like he was looking for a screen or trick play. Why aren’t they blocking me ? 1 Quote
Old Coot Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago 2 hours ago, gonzo1105 said: As for the 4th and 17, I said it in the game thread. That play was completely on Bernard. The Bills had a great call defensively and Kelce ran a seam route. I think it was Lewis on him but he was in Kelces hip pocket. Bernard for whatever reason felt he needed help and vacated his area to go double Kelce while Rice slipped right in behind him wide open for the first down. If Bernard stays put and gets more depth than there has to be a hell of a catch and throw there I think Bernard let Kelce get away from him on that long completion to Kelce. Quote

Bill51390 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Bosa should have released its 4th and 17 and kept at Mahomes. But that clearly wasn’t the only issue that play. Quote

It’s the fact that McD wasted a timeout to draw up a play and the receiver was still WIDE open in the middle of the field. McD is still a mental midget for that one and Bernard looks over the hill and over the moon on that play. Edited 2 hours ago by Buffalo Ballin Quote
