This is devolving into an old man odd injury post but I have definitely gotten injured in simple non-contact movements.

I subscribe to the concept for the professional that their injury is a timer that’s going to go off regardless and that it was not preventable.   You add so much muscle and weight and contact to joints and soft tissue not meant to withstand it and it’s just a matter of time.

Also I am an old man so no offense was intended.

Happens. This Sunday, Charvarius Ward (starting CB for the Colts) missed the game with a concussion that he suffered by running into TE Drew Ogletree during pre-game warmups. But that't not all. Anthony Richardson (Colts current backup QB and draft bust) also missed the game because he got hit in the eye when an exercise band snapped during pre-game stretching.

Anthony Richardson suffered an orbital fracture in warm ups.

I don't know, just being a smart ass, but I couldn't think of how else he could do it!

Just checked 😂

“Following the game, Colts coach Shane Steichen told reporters that Richardson suffered an orbital fracture, forcing him to spend Sunday's game in a local hospital. The injury allegedly occurred as a result of a malfunction of the elastic band he had been using. Richardson attached the band to a pole in the locker room, and the pole snapped and made forceful contact with his face”

ouch!!!

Bizarre. I think I'd rather say it was a shotgun snap!

If so, this is the most embarrassing thing for him ever and how exactly does that happen?

I mean nowhere near as embarrassing as Anthony Richardson fracturing an orbital bone while warming up with a resistance band during pregame and having to spend the game at the hospital.

Both DaQuan and Ed are exactly why you can't invest second contract money into DL play.  These fat guys have 4-5 years max, and after that they fall apart.  Draft 2 mid-rounders (3rd & 5th) every year, and play them immediately.

haha yeah I was gonna say, what happened to Richardson is like 20x worse (more embarrassing).

I'm thinking someone punched him in the face Geno Smith style on that one.

Must be a hell of a windup for an elastic band to break a orbital bone lol

I the 70s or 80s a Dolphin messed up his knee doing dunks over the crossbar with the football during the pregame.

I once pulled a neck muscle sneezing from hay fever.

I injured my back stretching before golf. It can happen.

I've injured my neck and shoulder (multiple times) showering in the morning before a tee time. Age is undefeated.
