It's amazing how someone can be so narcissistic to simply say "what this person did was indefensible and there's no excuse for it..." But then they feel the need to go on and say something like " this guy is a real good guy who has slipped up a few times, he's no different than Saddam Hussein and that he gets a little worked up sometimes even though he can really get people behind him he really means well.
