On this team, why not? Let Cook sit or come back without an attitude. His first year attitude was not impressive. struck me as kinda dumb. His agent and brother will ultimately decide. Here are 4 rookie years from Bills running backs. I'm sure it's fairly hard to tell who is who. I listed it below the image. But the guy with a sub 4 yard per carry average is the one you want to use to replace Cook with. Further, the other top two are back ups. Davis has the worst stat line of all of them. I don't think people really understand the drop off from Cook to Davis. It's a top 10 back to a non starter. People hope Davis is more than that, but what evidence do they have? Our history of drafting back ups? A sub 4.0 YPC? Cook averaged a full yard more last year and he was handing the keys over to a gassed defense when Davis got the rock. Singletary is 1, Moss is 2, Cook is 3, and Davis is 4 Edited August 5 by Mikie2times 2 1 Quote

Both were seldom used as rookies. Here are their stats for the last two years Cook: Rushing: yards 2131, TDs 18. Receiving 703 yards, 6 TDs. Scrimmage total 2834 24 TDs. Williams: Rushing: yards 2443, TDs 26. Receiving 388 yards, 5 TDs. Scrimmage total 2831 31 TDs. By the way Williams is 5'9 202 4.65 40. He'll turn 25 in a few weeks. Played College ball at ND and had 419 Rushing attempts in college Cook is 5'11 190, ran 4.42 40 and turns 26 in Sept. Played college ball at UGA and had only 230 carries in college. This is a "game " changer ! Quote

RoscoeParrish Posted August 5 Posted August 5 The fun thing about the James Cook saga is that when this whole thing is all smiles and old news by week 3, there will be a subset of fans who absolutely loathe him irredeemably 1 1 Quote
SCBills Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Rams paid a RB because they run a lot and have a statue at QB. Bills have an athletic freak who will still be in his prime for the duration of what would be a James Cook extension. I understand the similarities between the Bills and Rams elite run offenses, even further comparison driven by Cook and Kyren being that B-level tier of RB behind Saquon and Henry, but our QB situations are not the same. Rams might be even more reliant on the run game this year with McVay’s ominous remarks about Stafford. Quote

They want to win with Josh , it seems. on a deeper level than that. Have always been about job satisfaction and doing my best , regardless. maybe I am a unicorn definitely apples to pomegranates comparison though I like money too. Quote

Too many posts from fans everywhere devaluing and disparaging Cook over literally nothing. I get that we're fans of the team, not individual players. But the player has done nothing out of the ordinary... except peel off long TD runs we havent seen in years. 2 1 Quote

He'll never be as fast or as good an athlete as Cook, but I did like some of the shiftiness and vision he was starting to show by the end of his rookie year. He was showing a real knack for finding the right gap, getting skinny and busting through it without losing speed. 2 Quote

I don't think we're devaluing, if anything the value is about right on Cook I mean some guy said Williams was mid to I guess prop up Cook? Wild imo and not that it matters but if I was GM I wouldn't even offer contacts to Bijan or Gibbs and they're pretty clearly the most valuable backs in the league 2 Quote
