I think from afar we sometimes assume these countries actions reflect a homogeneous view of their politics and society. But Isreal, and even Iran, much like America has views across the political and social spectrum. It's just an unfortunate case of extremists seeming to be calling the shots everywhere. My view is that tis has now become much more of an on the ground intel issue, and the Israelis are way ahead of the game, thus far.
