They need to get tougher on trans rights.  The American people have spoken and they demand to know where the Dems sit on trans rights!  

 

Sadly, this is likely an actual conversation happening at the DNC.  Dems learned nothing over the last 8 years.  If they had a candidate who would focus on jobs, prosperity, and boosting the standard of living for working class Americans they just might never lose again.  Instead they're baited into debates on fringe social issues.  They're more concerned about winning the supposed moral high ground than they are with winning elections and as a result they're broadly viewed as arrogant, humorless, and preachy.   

 

I think Trump and MAGA is more a repudiation of both political parties and our ruling elite.  He promised to burn everything down.  Ironically, the rejection of our political elitism is embodied by a rich Manhattan socialite who LARPs as a self made man but here we are.  Trump's self aggrandizing travels too. Latinos and Black voters love the machismo, the under educated love the complete lack of decorum and decency.  Trump is flame to the moth for everyone who has been cast aside as dumb, trashy, hairbrained, and generally undesirable.  He brought them all in under the tent.  He platformed their basest opinions and assured them they weren't alone.

Short answer: Focus more on creating a better future, instead of putting up barriers to progress. Democrats are so focused on "fairness" that nothing ends up getting done. New York state is a compassionate state, so much so that we can't build enough houses and end up with homeless people all over the place. They don't have a homeless problem in Houston, they just build there. We have so many issues with transportation, and look at California's bullet train fiasco. Make it a priority of Democratic leadership to figure out that technology. We can all keep our interal combustion vehicles, which I think we love, really. But no, Dems have to do it the hard way and piss everyone off.  

 

The future looks scary with AI, space weapons, drones, China growing stronger everyday, authoritarianism a threat, and Democrats had better get ahead of things on those fronts by showing democracy works and above all else that it, and the Democratic Party, can actually accomplish somethings, big things.

Rewind the clock back to 1953 when  America.via the CIA initiated a coup against the democratically elected government in Iran ino order to save American and British oil interests in the country from nationalization. I'll add to this.  I see Trump as a reaction to the failings of both major parties.  I know a lot of Trump-supporting vets (which seems absurd to me in view of suckers and losers, but whatever) who I strongly suspect are with him based on the failings of George W. Bush.  They went to war in Iraq based on a lie, left blood, sweat, tears, limbs, and friends there, and it was all a waste.  So they seized on both Bernie and Trump.  Now they're with Trump.  Whether they stick with the Republican Party remains to be seen.  (I suspect they'd flip back to a Bernie candidate who looks like them pretty easily.)  But time will tell.

Well f'ing said.  I completely agree with you.  We have to stop talking about which weirdo rocks a piss in which bathroom and focus on making people's lives better.  Better wages, better working conditions, better health, better health insurance, fairer taxation (tax the rich), no stupid tariffs, treat everyone with decency, give everyone a fair short, and move on.  Only once those things are done can we have conversations about stupid fringe issues like the five trannies who play women's sports and piss off some swimmer who didn't win a medal nobody cares about anyways and parlayed that into a following on Fox News.  Populism with decency is what the Democratic Party used to be, and it's time to get back to that.

The best way is to eliminate the regime that has insisted on completing the project and annihilating Israel and the US.

 

A new regime determined to get along with the rest of the world probably wouldn't object to eliminating the program.

 

Note the pivot that Israeli offensive strikes have taken over the past 48 hours.

They are no longer focused on missile launchers or the Iranian nuc program, but have gone after the regime's internal police.

In my view that is a sign that while they are not going to overthrow the Islamic regime, they are making it easier for the Iranians to do it themselves.

 

If there is no regime change, as BillsFanNC pointed out, assured compliance would be part of a settlement agreement.

I'll add that I think you missed a point about Trump.  He's a fraud and a phony who has enriched himself on the backs of the people who support him without actually doing anything to help them.  I really wonder how many people simply dislike him less than they disliked some lady with pearls who hasn't worked a 9 to 5 in decades.  (Not that Trump has, either.)  Maybe I'm giving the electorate too much credit and a huge chunk of it really is drooling morons poisoned by the Internet.  But that's really where I'm at.  Pete B.'s appearance on that pod recently hit all the high points.  Hopefully more Democrats start talking like that.
