SCBills Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Lol… Bodega owners and small business black owners at home worried about how to make a living if Zohran becomes Mayor while more affluent liberal whites celebrate. 1
B-Man Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago While there's still an outside chance that the scandal-plagued current mayor, Eric Adams, could win as an independent in the general election if several other candidates, including Republican Curtis Sliwa, get behind him, let's just say I'm not exactly confident that's how things will play out. Instead, it looks like New Yorkers saw the destruction of Chicago's socialist lunatic of a mayor and decided they wanted that too, but even worse. So, who exactly is Mamdani? He's the son of a Columbia professor (because, of course, he is) and a radical in every respect of the word. But what about his economic and social policies? In short, Mamdani is a communist, and not in the way that word is sometimes used on the right to describe crony capitalist Democrats. No, Mamdani is literally just a communist. Two of his primary proposals are government-owned grocery stores and rent control. With all that said, I'm not in much of a mood to further lament what is about to happen to New York City. It's about time the rest of America stopped feeling sympathy, as if this was the result of misguided naivete. No, they voted for an antisemitic Islamic communist with their eyes wide open. The destruction that is coming was a choice, and New Yorkers deserve to suffer the consequences of that. No federal bailouts and no interference to try to save them from themselves. Let it happen. https://redstate.com/bonchie/2025/06/25/new-york-city-just-chose-to-destroy-itself-and-its-time-to-let-it-happen-n2190880 1 1
The Frankish Reich Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago New Yorkers are an annoying breed. They seem to believe that they cannot live anywhere else even though they constantly complain about the quality of life in New York. They should be able to afford to buy a nice rowhouse in Brooklyn or afford a relatively spacious apartment in Manhattan while working in poorly paid creative fields like "design" or something related to the arts and theater. And so they vote for anyone who sells them the pipe dream that NYC can become, at once, nicer and more affordable for them to pursue the creative lives they choose. And so NYC will become, at once, less nice and less affordable and they will move somewhere else. 2 1 2
SCBills Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) Worst part of this, imo, is that this will create waves of actual Democrat voters moving South. Moderate Dems, but still Dems nonetheless. The big misconception is that New Yorkers moving to places like Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee etc., are “bringing their politics with them”. Thats true.. just not in the sense many believe. Not all, but most of these former New Yorkers, myself included, are right leaning and vote right leaning in our new southern states. Raleigh might be an outlier, as it’s a lot of University & Research transplants. But Charlotte, Greenville, Charleston, Atlanta metro, especially Florida.. have all remained unchanged or gotten redder since the start of North to South mass migration. With a guy like Mamdami, he will start the flight of moderate Dems. These people will move south and vote Democrat.. especially since southern Dems tend to be more moderate than northern Dems. Therefore palatable to people who fled a socialist but still want to live under a Roy Cooper type or virtue signal vote for a Stacey Abrams. Edited 6 hours ago by SCBills 1

If you look at the map, the truly "higher income" areas of Manhattan - the Upper East and Upper Westsides - went for Cuomo. "Middle income" as applied to NYers means struggling to get by in a preposterously expensive city.

Only in dreams can NYC be swept under the rug, bid good riddance and it’s case closed with them.

Fair enough.. screams to me that is a voting group dominated by 75k-150k white corporate libs that live paycheck to paycheck in a tiny NYC apartment, yet still brunch and go out at night, while believing they deserve a better life. Easily susceptible to a slick millennial targeted campaign promising lower rent and food costs while hitting their virtue sweet spot on cops, Israel and illegal migrants. Comfortable enough to not fear the ramifications but also not wealthy enough to fear them either. Edited 6 hours ago by SCBills
Roundybout Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Everyone crying about this needs to take a deep breath and remember there’s still a general election. 1

Unless you think Cuomo can pull off a Byron Brown 2.0?

I don’t think most of us have a ton of faith in Eric Adams to take down Zohran, given the campaign and energy Zohran has. It’s going to take Moderate Dems and most of the cities Republicans backing Adams… so hopefully both Sliwa & Cuomo get out of the way, but doubtful. Edited 6 hours ago by SCBills

I hope he slinks back to his home with Weiner. 1
