I never “got” this kind of jazz, guess I wasn’t hip enough. But I did wait/serve a dinner for Spyro Gyra though. It was a small to do for their signing with a local record exec in the late ‘70’s. 
 

…..it didn’t make me any hipper to that scene.

When I was a kid, the PBS station in Rochester (WXXI) had a little "filler" video that was to this song, and I think a time-lapse of someone making stained glass art. 

I don't remember the visual art, but I've loved this song ever since.

You don't have the right dynamic for the New Frontier, your dad probably never built a dugout in case The Reds decided to push the button down.  I suggest you move to The City, make up your mind, learn design, & study overseas... That's why you're not mad about Brubeck.  He's an artist, a pioneer, gotta have some music on the New Frontier...

Love Take Five!  Such a great song.

 

Joe Morello, his drummer, always seemed underrated to me.  His drum solo in the OP’s post is good, but the attached video he lets loose a bit more.  I really enjoy this solo.

Saw Brubeck at the Montreal Jazz Fest...man could he still play well into his late 80s.
