I went to the game in Toronto on 7/3. The Yanks pitching is not good. And to many runners left in scoring position.  Different day, same problems as every season.  Maybe time for new manager and a new GM? At least I had good seats on the first baseline.

I heard a great pre-game question to Boone today wrt 4th of July baseball memories. He talked about watching a game his dad played on the 4th where Mike Schmidt and Greg Luzinsky went back to back HRs and his dad hit a double. He was watching in the stands with Greg  L's son and someone else who's name I didnt catch. Cool story.

Cam Schlitter is a can’t miss Yankees prospect.  Either he pans out or @BADOLBILZ has the easiest derogatory nickname ever.  Win win.

I don't know if he's can't miss yet but the furor became justifiable when he started hitting 98 on the gun.   The Schlitt show will probably get an early debut date now with the Schmidt show going to the IL with forearm stiffness.

Unfortunately his actual job is playing who Cashman wants him to play.    That's really why Girardi got fired......he had too many opinions on the players he was given(most notably on Hary Snatchez......who, as it turns out,  just sucked and wasn't worth pandering to).   Hal and Cashman have proven that they don't care about these annual Buffoone swoone's.   I would love to see what a guy like Bruce Bochy or Dusty Baker or Terry Francona could do with the Yankees job.   Instead, if they ever cave to the pressure during one of these swoone's it will lead to Rojas getting elevated from being a terrible 3rd base coach back to a major league manager.   He may be Felipe Alou's son but once you get 9-10 shots in maybe they just start landing farther from the tree.   If they fire Buffoone it will be for another yes man.

The problems started with LeMehieu and Stanton coming off IL.  Totally wrecked the chemistry of the young team.  Boone is too loyal to his OG players to see it.

Yep.

DP LePew's no-longer-big-league ability and the joyless demeanor he brings with it runs contrary to the competitive, energized environment you want in the clubhouse during a marathon season.

He doesn't deserve a roster spot based on ability and everyone knows it.   From the top down.  And that renders the competition aspect a sham.   Even if it's largely an illusion,  you have to make it seem like playing time is based on merit.   He's been washed for 3 years now.   Last year they literally fake-IR'd him in September because they knew they had to get their competitive edge back for the playoffs and it was hard to do with a worn out free loader on board.   Every time they bring him back from the IL in May it's like replacing the gatorade with melatonin.

A shot at Boone?  ... "They got a great ballclub, it starts with their manager. Mendy, I've seen him for years here, he's going to get the boys fired up, ready to go. It's a great ballclub." - Aaron Judge on the Mets

Thankfully they got a win to end the losing streak. The damage has been done as they are now 2.5 games behind the Blue Jays in the division.

Boone should be replaced but let's not forget about Cashman. He deserves his share of the blame for this as well. The pitching has been awful.

NEW YORK -- The New York Yankees designated DJ LeMahieu for assignment on Wednesday, presumably ending the veteran infielder's tenure with the organization despite being owed $22 million through next season.

He was a good player in his prime.  Could play 3rd and 2nd and was good at the plate.  Age and injuries got him in the end.  Boone was too loyal to bench him this year...hurting the team.  Happy trails, DJ.

He was always tough on the Orioles, good solid player

Three wins in a row and the Blue Jays finally lost a game. Hopefully their mid-season slump is over, and they can get back in first place in the division. Let's Go Yanks!

What a game last night. Down 5-0 in the 8th inning and came back and won 6-5. Four game winning streak. Let's Go Yankees. Tough series with the Cubs up next.

Glad they took 2 out 3 from Atlanta after losing Friday night but there is no way this team wins #28 with this pitching. It is a huge problem.

Max

Rodon

Gil (hope)

Warren

Stroman

Schlittler

Thats ok.  The problem is the bullpen.  I’d only look to add 2 pen arms.  Try and sign Skubal after 2026.

Plus - does it even matter:

I mean we’re all playing for 2nd

The Dodgers are really good. Barring an upset, they should be back in the world series. Anyway big 3 game series starting at Toronto tonight. Let's hope this visit to Canada goes better than the last one. Let's Go Yankees.
