Outlaws is annoying and the logo reminds me of dozens of annoying youth fake elite teams that use the same looking logo. I didn't realize that...but yep I agree they still made the right choice Quote

Yes, because we definitely want a guy with zero front office experience running the show. Again. It worked so well the first time. Quote
May Day 10 Posted Wednesday at 03:19 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:19 PM Zero coaching or front office experience. He is maybe the one guy who Sabres fans would most reject due to hatred. Staal hated it here, and quit on the team. He is friends with Kevyn Adams (who everyone hates) so there is that. He also said that he would have had Buffalo on his no trade list if he thought it was possible he could be traded to Buffalo. After media hinting at possible major changes and the fans being forced to wait for that rube owner to drag his slippered feet around through the NFL draft and Adams "presenting to him". This is a slap in the face to Sabres fans as the first (maybe only) "move". Staal was also one of the meatheads who refused to wear a pride jersey for warmups. All these hollow theme nights that NHL teams put on do annoy me, but a player making that stand is a really bad look IMO. Stall can f right back out of Buffalo. 1 2 1 Quote

Keeping Adams isn't that shocking, both his and Ruff's contracts expire at the end of next season. This was sort of expected (but still disappointing) when they gave Ruff that 2yr deal. But giving Adams the hiring power to expand the front office and bring in his BFF from Carolina was definitely not on any Bingo cards. 1 Quote

Lou Lamoriello could probably do a better job even at 82. Even though the Isles didn't renew his contract, his time on the Island wasn't a complete failure. 5 playoff appearances in 7 years with back-to-back runs to the ECF. If the Isles could have gotten by Tampa they might have won the Cup. Edited Thursday at 11:39 AM by Gregg 1 Quote

May Day 10 Posted Thursday at 11:15 AM Posted Thursday at 11:15 AM (edited) I think/suspect that pegula has a fragile ego and an inferiority complex. He is almost always the dimmest individual in the room and he hates it. He has missed so many times, especially in the hockey realm. It isn't just hockey side either. The business side has churned and has had much dysfunction as well. I remember a chill in my spine when pegula was first introduced, when he bragged about how he never lost or fired an employee with his fracking business. Judging by things that he and Kim have said, they think they have an otherworldly ability to read people for their "authenticity" as Kim called it, and the ability to excel at their jobs. The organization is full of Terry's little potential success stories. All these nobodies that he plucked out of the usdp. He yearns for that Athletic column that shows how right he was, and how successful the sabres have been doing it his way. Adams is his magnum opus discovery. Appert is another major one and is tabbed for HC after this season. College educated people can easily manipulate the Pegulas by making them feel smart and feeding their egos. The pegulas are then manipulated by the much smarter individual. Edited Thursday at 11:43 AM by May Day 10 2 1 1 Quote
Gregg Posted Thursday at 01:04 PM Posted Thursday at 01:04 PM I am starting to get that sick feeling that this might be the Leafs year. I am not giving up on Florida, but they better win the next 2 at home to even this up at 2-2 otherwise the Leafs will most likely be in the ECF. I don't care who wins the Cup just as long as the Leafs don't. Quote

I don't care who wins the Cup just as long as the Leafs don't. I feel like I don’t really hate any NHL teams anymore because it’s been so many years since the Sabres had any meaningful rivals. The hate has kind of faded to indifference. Years ago I would’ve hated the idea of Toronto winning a Cup. But now I don’t know if I care. Their fans are die hard too, it’s been a long time since they won anything meaningful and they’ve been through a lot of heartbreak. They still aren’t my choice to win the cup but I’ll be happy for their fans if they do. I am rooting for a Canadian team to win it this year though, just because it’s been so long since Canada got a Cup and I know how much it would mean to the country. The team I want to win it all is the Winnipeg Jets. They are the smallest market in the entire NHL and the #1 team on no-trade lists. If they can win it all it’ll be a nice middle finger to Kevyn Adams and his palm trees/taxes comments. 😂 2 Quote

The glassiest of houses. Completely irrelevant and the Leafs travel to worlds we cant even comprehend as Sabres fans. Eichel too. I hated him, but now, you know, he was probably right. Why should he be expected to waste his career here? Quote

Even though Buffalo is known as a football mad city, they are also a very good hockey market. When/If the day ever comes when playoff hockey returns to WNY I can't wait to watch the Sabres first playoff home game in years. I can only imagine what the atmosphere will be like. It will be crazy loud in the arena. That is for sure. Edited Thursday at 01:47 PM by Gregg 1 1 Quote

I thought the NHL banned him. Guess not as he is the new Ducks HC. Quote
