I think it was Mammoths vs Hockey Club vs Outlaws.... I was really hoping it would be Mammoths.  Outlaws is annoying and the logo reminds me of dozens of annoying youth fake elite teams that use the same looking logo.

Yes, because we definitely want a guy with zero front office experience running the show. Again. It worked so well the first time.

Zero coaching or front office experience.  He is maybe the one guy who Sabres fans would most reject due to hatred.  Staal hated it here, and quit on the team.  He is friends with Kevyn Adams (who everyone hates) so there is that.  He also said that he would have had Buffalo on his no trade list if he thought it was possible he could be traded to Buffalo.

 

After media hinting at possible major changes and the fans being forced to wait for that rube owner to drag his slippered feet around through the NFL draft and Adams "presenting to him".  This is a slap in the face to Sabres fans as the first (maybe only) "move".

 

Staal was also one of the meatheads who refused to wear a pride jersey for warmups.  All these hollow theme nights that NHL teams put on do annoy me, but a player making that stand is a really bad look IMO.  

 

Stall can f right back out of Buffalo.

Keeping Adams isn't that shocking, both his and Ruff's contracts expire at the end of next season. This was sort of expected (but still disappointing) when they gave Ruff that 2yr deal. But giving Adams the hiring power to expand the front office and bring in his BFF from Carolina was definitely not on any Bingo cards.

After an exhaustive search, the Buffalo Sabres identified the only person in the league who absolutely cannot help Kevyn Adams in any conceivable way and hired him.

Lou Lamoriello could probably do a better even at 82. Even though the Isles didn't renew his contract, his time on the Island wasn't a complete failure. 5 playoff appearances in 7 years with back-to-back runs to the ECF. If the Isles could have gotten by Tampa they might have won the Cup.
