Whats this? Are you talking about loving a bunch of cis whites men competing against other cis white men in a game children play while the country they played for was involved in systemic oppression of people? During a time when two people could not legally get married. When women and minorities were still fighting for equality. When housewives were downing pills just to cope with life and the country was still stuck using the barbaric form of assigning gender based on genitalia causing trauma we are still dealing with today.

Is this some call to make american hockey team great again? Nice dog whistle you got there. Should be less obvious with your call back to a time of bigotry and hate. Dont use a hockey game to hide what you really love.

Im going to need you to denounce all the horrable things happening in the country you are referring to red. I really didnt think you were this kind of person that would celebrate and "love" them but here you are admitting it.

It's f'in great hockey, man.  the best.  isn't that what we  want?

No. We want inclusion. You should not root for any team that does not represent the diversity that is the strength of this nation. I need to see a team who has asian island players. A goalie of jewish faith. Non birthing Women .

White men rooting for white men is flat out racist of the highest order. Why is it so hard for you guys to admit your against racism? Demand better red. Join me in the boycott or this hatred will never change.

Great question. I would say it’s The Golden Rule - treat others as you would want them to treat you. I would also add supporting families in whatever shape or form they are, protecting the environment for our children’s children, and sacrificing our wants for the benefit of our children.

This makes sense to me.

The question, believe it or not, was not satirical.  Following Trump's rise, I have no idea what it means to be conservative in this country.  I cannot believe that traditional conservatives countenance his nonsense.  Young conservatives seem to be social conservative and economic . . . maybe super progressives.  Like that Big Blitz guy who somehow thinks that conservatism entails the government interceding to freeze prices to stop inflation.

A lot of ideology has become warped in the Trump era. Reagan would never get elected by the MAGA crowd. When I think of traditional family values, I think of how my father and grandfather lived their lives and loved this country.

I think of WW2 vets...the greatest generation.  Like my dad who helped liberate Bergen Belsen.  He'd tell you all about authoritarianism and cults if still alive.  And MAGA's would ignore him and call him a RINO.  Staunch and active R.

We were at Duke Gardens in Chapel Hill recently.  Lots of sorority girls about and they were friendly.  Good stuff....I'm into flowers.  look but don't touch.

You make it seem like retirement sucks but if rambling on like an overage billstime to an audience of 12 is your idea of winning, it’s not my place to argue. I hope to have more going on than virtual preening when I get to your age but who’s to say?

I know I have put it in a tee for you to carry on pretentiously about how awesome you are. Swing away. Looking forward to more of your “winning”.

Pretentious rambling . Thank you for never disappointing but please keep in mind that, as Emerson wrote, a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.

glad i met expectations.  I try to exceed them. Then when I fail, I meet them.  you should try it....I love Emily Dickenson's work.  And Thoreau.  btw, we nonMAGA's will win.   but keep trying.  Other than the short bus idiots on Jan 6 it's been kinda fun. Especially lately.

hobgoblin.  fantastic word.  gonna use that with actual friends.

You’ll never get a response cause they have no idea what real communism is other than a label to put on people they disagree with.

I think they do know.  It's a strategic insult and meant to disinform on progressivism.  Sad tactic.  But that's how they roll:  lying and cheating.

Yup.  I think the most succinct definition is:  Easy "answers" to difficult problems.  It what is common among all fascist regimes and they all failed.  sorta like HCQ and Ivermectin...Oh, and the wall Mexico was going to pay for.

I don’t label people fascists here, but in case anyone is wondering…

Political scientist Dr. Lawrence Britt recently wrote an article about fascism ("Fascism Anyone?," Free Inquiry, Spring 2003, page 20). Studying the fascist regimes of Hitler (Germany), Mussolini (Italy), Franco (Spain), Suharto (Indonesia), and Pinochet (Chile), Dr. Britt found they all had 14 elements in common. He calls these the identifying characteristics of fascism. The excerpt is in accordance with the magazine's policy.

The 14 characteristics are:

Powerful and Continuing Nationalism
Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights
Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause
The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

Supremacy of the Military
Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

Rampant Sexism
The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.

Controlled Mass Media
Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

Obsession with National Security
Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

Religion and Government are Intertwined
Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

Corporate Power is Protected
The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

Labor Power is Suppressed
Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed .

Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts
Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.

Obsession with Crime and Punishment
Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.

Rampant Cronyism and Corruption
Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

Fraudulent Elections
Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

Gaslighting hard.

you would just ad MAGA to #3.

And the lefts nationalism, is globalism.

"Corporatism became one of the main tenets of fascism, and Benito Mussolini's fascist regime in Italy advocated the collective management of the economy by state officials by integrating large interest groups under the state, which is a combination of crony capitalism and state capitalism"

Like huge state stimuluses vs actual demand.

"Supply-side economics believes that producers and their willingness to create goods and services set the pace of economic growth while demand-side economics believes that consumers and their demand for goods and services are the key economic drivers."

Corporatism is certainly thriving in America. From massive tax cuts, state tax deals to attract business, government bailouts, being considered “people” by the Supreme Court and the breaking of labor unions, corporations rule America.

Some would even go as far as to point out that the corps through PACS openly buy elections and these politicians are representative of them.

And why the economy is geared towards the investor class and stimies/handouts right back to that group.
