Mahomes vs Allen or Mahomes vs Burrow

How much exactly is Burrow and how much is having 3 unbelievable weapons at WR. Diggs is awesome, but Josh doesn't have anything close to what Burrow has. Yet their passing stats are really close and then you have to account for the big difference in Josh's rushing stats. Either way what I'm saying is Josh would have alot, lot better stats throwing to those 3, a far better OL and having a former OC for a HC. Burrow has all the advantages yet is only even at best.

So I made this a Allen / Burrow thread, but it might as well be a Bills / Bengals thread. At the end of the day you figure it will be decided by them. With the weapons they both have, is KC the only team you're worried about? Did Burrow just crap his pants into being one defensive holding call away from have his first SB off a severe injury in his second season?

That puppy is going to piss all over Belichick this Sunday. I guess the biggest fear I have with Joe is the ages of his top 2 wrs. At 22 & 23, Chase and Higgins are going to be a problem.

Mike Brown has no money. They will have to let Higgins go once his rookie contract is up and everyone here in Cincinnati knows that.

Both burrow and Mahomes are over rated. Josh could be the best if he’d play consistently.

Consistency is one of the absolute key characteristics in determining the best. The other two are more so..

Neither is asked to carry the weight Josh does for this offense. Going into the Chicago game in week 16 Josh pass or ran for 87% of all the tds scored on offense and had 81.5% of the offenses total yards. The thing with Burrow is, if he couldn't be consistent with the best 3 weapon combo at WR in the NFL, then I don't know when he could be. They also both have former OCs for HCs over Josh having a former DC. That's a big advantage for those 2. The guess the question is could Mahomes & Burrow be as consistent if they had to carry the same workload, including the runs and doing so for a former DC as HC?

I'm not hear to discuss individual success or failure. I love Josh. We are obsessed with KC, it's time we wake up.

Dude, I really don't care to measure Josh like an MLB pitcher, I understand his xFIP is exceptional, but in the NFL ERA matters more.

Burrow and the Bengals get plenty of respect here; stop acting like they don’t.  Chiefs are the measuring stick because they have beaten us twice to meet our goal.

Unless you’ve been under a rock people have been talking about the Bengals all season. Everyone understands they are dangerous, your analogy (as has been pointed out several times) is pretty disingenuous. Burrow gets a lot of praise around here, but Mahomes and the Chiefs have been doing it consistently for longer.

if people weren’t giving Burrow and the Bengals enough credit, why was everyone on here last week calling it the game of the year?

NOBODY has talked about the Bengals. Again, minimum 10 to 1 vs KC.

Sure, but you can spin the question around and say if Josh were more consistent, would he need to do all the Superman stuff?

he doesn’t need to keep so often on the run option plays, he doesn’t need to hold the ball so long and refuse the check down or chain mover.

The inconsistency and superhero moments go hand in hand.

the most poignant example is boring Brady just completing 7 yard pass after 7 yard pass all the way to canton

They have been doing it longer and they are the team that has ended the Bills season the last 2 years!! How are you not understanding that? It’s ironic that you call Josh a puppy because your whole point has become a puppy-really fun, it’s cute, but completely harmless

Today must be your first day on here if you think the Bengals don’t get talked about

You keep making their SB run about him. Go rewatch the 4 games and tell me what you see. A team carried by an opportunistic defense and a fg kicker who went 14/14. The defense had 10 sacks, 8 ints and a fumble recovery in 4 games. Heck Burrow's best game in the playoffs(vs the Raiders) is about what Josh averages in a playoff game. Puppy my arse, only if it's a pit bull.

On top of that you have to ask, should he even have been in the SB in the 1st place. Let's not forget the blown call in the WC round against the Raiders where they got the deciding td on a play where the ref blew the whistle in the middle of the play and half the players quit playing thinking the play was over. By run the ball is supposed to go back to the los and the play reran. Instead they got an unearned td.

He just wins.

Higgins in addition to Chase is what makes the Bengals a problem.

If Tua puts up numbers and wins with Waddle and Hill….it’s not much different to me.

What’s been the difference with Tua and Burrow?  Not much.

Josh does so much more with less.

I bet money on the Raiders game. On the Raiders. That call maid me want to crush humans but at the end of the day the Bengals outplayed them. He was sacked 7 times vs Tennessee. What would Josh do if he was sacked 7 times? Again, for the 50th time. Watch the video. You will see why I'm worried about him. I haven't seen any athlete with this mental attitude.

So this thread isn’t really about the Bengals, it’s your confessional about your man crush on Burrow!  And as usual, these threads end up bringing out the Josh doubters.

Oh and our playoff run may very well be having to deal with

Waddle/Hill

Higgins/Chase

Mahomes/Kelce - or Herbert/Williams/Keenan

That run right there is why the absence of Hyde this year has kind of lurked in the background the way we felt when we lost Tre.

Yea and no Von.

That’s why getting the 1 seed and home field is such a big deal this season for this group.

I really want to find the poster that was edited about the idea of Watson joining the AFC East and just smack him in the face.

Yet you're whole premise is based on individuals and not teams, yes? Therefore you have to be able to discuss individual success or failures in this thread. Holy crap. Hypocrite much?

Dude, if you spin a topic chop it up contort it and move it to what direction you want then congrats 😄

You can look at my post history. It's 20 years long. Outside of when he was 8 years old, all my posts on this subject have been pretty neutral.
