I always thought that State Farm is missing the perfect marketing campaign if they used Josh Allen instead of Rodgers or Mahommes.  Those two only seem to want to be sure they get their 'special rates'.   Josh would have more class and just explain he lives in the City of Good Neighbors and knows how well that works and challenge State Farm to live up to the level of WNYers who are always there for good causes.  Maybe State Farm just doesn't match up well compared to real Good Neighbors.

I agree also that the USAA ads with Gronk miss the mark with poor attempt at humor.  It misses the mark as This multi-millionaire tries to get the rates that veterans have earned by serving the country instead of playing a game.  I'm a veteran and I dislike the USAA commercials with Gronk but I think know he's a big jerk anyway and I myself would rather he not try to associate himself with WNY because I  have yet to see him conduct himself in any way that exemplifies what I expect from any true WNYers.  Just cause he grew up here it doesn't seem he's got WNY values.

I'm really not trying to talk bad about someone I don't know, but I would definitely say he seems more like your friend the scarecrow. He even says he's special.

If he only had a brain, he could have learned all of that values stuff.

Would love to see who watched this presentation at USAA, of a pathetic  comedic attempt to commit stolen valor, and said Yes!...This is how we want to promote ins to veterans and their families.  It's not just one commercial either, but a series, they REALLY liked it.  SMFH  Society is circling the drain.

I am glad to see someone else felt the same as I did seeing this.

I'll stop there or my post will be removed.

Really? He works very hard, he plays through pain, he's dependable and reliable, by all accounts he's an amazing teammate.

So the fanbase that drinks shots out of bowling balls, douses a grown man in condiments, and jumps through flaming tables is going to condemn Rob Gronkowski for going to clubs and dating porn stars in the off season. Ok.

If he was just Rob from Williamsville getting lit up pregame and accidentally setting himself on fire on Sunday then getting up in Monday and putting in a shift at the engine plant he'd look exactly the same. I know dozens of WNYers with the exact same meat to head ratio. The only thing not WNY about Gronkowski is that he wins in the end.

If Gronkowski played in Buffalo he'd be the biggest cult hero possible.

Let's also slow down with this stolen valor stuff. There are plenty of people who are eligible to get insurance from USAA, a private company mind you, that have never come close to serving. It's open to veterans and their families and if your parents joined you can also join so long as that chain stays unbroken your family can keep joining. So if Gronks grandfather served, and then his father joined USAA and never served, Rob could still join and so could his kids and their kids. It's not like he's wearing a uniform or claiming a rank. He's playing an idiot. He's making fun of himself and the company itself hired him to do it. But yeah, totally the same thing as stolen valor. Let's cheapen that concept to include making fun of oneself for the purposes of selling insurance.  🙄

USS has been gouging servicemembers for YEARS and I've seen one too many horror stories with others who had USAA. It's no surprise that they continue to target us and then use Gronk to do it.

Agree 100%. I can never, ever get over what Gronk did to Tre White. You can’t unsee someone being capable of that kind of sadistic lunacy.

You guys are missing the point of the commercial. The point is that only military veterans can get insurance that good, not even all pro famous millionaires.

Gronk never pretended to be a veteran. He's just a big dummy. And his social status isn't enough to make him eligible. Making only vets eligible for the "elite" service they are offering.
