Meh. the voices just attacked any opposing view to open boarders, as racist.

Till the Sanctuary cities had to put their money where their mouth was, and now the sanctuary city leaders are crying about lack of services due to "the immigrants" they provided sanctuary to.

This is not a new thing sanctuary cities have been around for a long time. We have been excepting immigrants for a long time.

Since the inception of the country actually

Here is Bill Clinton statements on the passing of the 1995 immigration bill.  its been an issue for a long time.

CQ Almanac Online Edition (cqpress.com)

Former United States President Bill Clinton asserted that the legislation strengthened "the rule of law by cracking down on illegal immigration at the border, in the workplace, and in the criminal justice system — without punishing those living in the United States legally".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illegal_Immigration_Reform_and_Immigrant_Responsibility_Act_of_1996#:~:text=Former United States President Bill,in the United States legally".

And kinda Ironic cause he just came out stating NY needs to end its mandatory shelter laws and wants housing (prisons) for them to be housed near the border till hearings/permits.

"New York City's predicament is part of a larger issue of a lack of housing for migrants, he said. Clinton proposed a possible solution of building more housing along the southern border, which could ensure migrants have a place to stay while waiting to receive work permits."

Bill Clinton supports modifying NYC's 'Right to Shelter' law amid migrant crisis: 'It's broken' | KECI (nbcmontana.com)

On December 5, 1979, the New York State Supreme Court ordered the City and State to provide shelter for homeless men in a landmark decision that cited Article XVII of the New York State Constitution., Not forever

Other cities and states just passed similar laws while the media was calling trump a racist for building a wall.  in a knee jerk reactionary way.

Never minding it would lead to this.

Anything is kosher as long as its resisting the orange dude.

Not really that long.  The concept of Sanctuary Cities is pretty recent when local governments started refusing to assist and support Federal Immigration enforcement officers with arresting and deporting illegals.  Now its transformed into a wide safety net of taxpayer provided services and support.  The problem is the sheer volume of people streaming across the border has overwhelmed even the most generous cities.  And generally with the Biden administration refusing to enforce any immigration laws, the designation is a moot point where sanctuary has been replaced by social services support.

Also, the idea that these 8 million people meet the necessary criteria for Asylum status is dubious.  Its just a procedural ploy to get into the country.  Everyone is given a hearing date, released on their own recognizance, and required to show up at the hearing to state their case for asylum, with the court ruling yes or no on their qualifying for that status.  Of course, almost nobody is going to show for the hearing and Federal immigration officials under Biden have absolutely no intention of taking any enforcement action against anyone much less deport them for not showing up.  Its simply a very well orchestrated scam.  And the "great" news is there's more on the way!

Running away from the brutal dictatorship in Venezuela would meet the criteria of asylum, right?

way I see it, we either do something about Venezuela's government, or let the people in.  neither are popular choices.

Biden is doing something.  He's making a deal with Venezuela for more oil and easing financial restrictions on that "brutal dictatorship" which concerns you so but apparently bothers our current President and his administration not one bit.  Did you miss that?

An alternative strategy to meet our needs would have been to get additional oil supplies from Canada.  Of course immediately killing Keystone after the inauguration makes that option difficult.  And now with the completion of construction of additional capacity on the Trans Mountain pipeline from Alberta to Vancouver in 2024 most of that oil is destined for Asia.  Stupid political decisions do have real life consequence after all.

And Trump ignored the million plus Uighurs and other ethnic groups in internment camps to pursue trade deal in China that he lost.

Trump gave Chinese President Xi Jinping the green light on building the camps in its western region, with the US leader saying it was "exactly the right thing to do".

Mr Bolton had alleged that at a summit last year Mr Trump gave Chinese President Xi Jinping the green light on building the camps in its western region, with the US leader saying it was "exactly the right thing to do". Mr Trump denies the allegation.

LMAO. did you mean to mention how the Chinese are doing an actual genocide to the Muslim Uighurs.

Cause the MSM jumps through hoops to avoid or discredit that story.

Consider this - Trump accumulated 30,573 false statements over the course of his 4-year administration, and that's not even accounting for any since his departure from the White House. If Bolton is indeed fabricating tales, wouldn't Trump have logically pursued a libel suit against him?

Do you ever get tired of cleaning up EVERY mess Trump makes?
