Putin has "changed".  trump thought he was his fairy godfather.  Turns out he's a ruthless mass murderer.  who could have guessed?  The russians are openly threatening WW3 while fighting a 3 year stalemate with a much smaller country.  And trump doesn't even put tariffs on Russia equal to those on the EU.  Russian media is openly belittling trump while their government threatens him.  Is this what great looks like?
