You blew right past your sweet spot. Too high now. You’re going to need to eat a snack or wait 20 minutes.

firstly, let’s establish Cleveland is IN Ohio. Not a good or topic.

secondly, cost of living is regional even within states.

Also congrats on the business you certainly ooze entrepreneur mentality 😂

Lastly Florida has better tax policy, weather,  is better for business, socialists seem to be out of favor there- Pretty easy dots to connect why those who can be mobile choose to go there.

I wasn’t joking when I said NJ was cheaper than Florida. It really is now. I was priced out of my comfort zone in Florida 10 years ago.  We’ve had this conversation before.

Florida is full!

Bay Harbor Island is where you want to go if you must go to Florida. Don’t settle for Orlando. Go somewhere nice.

The problem is blue staters voting blue and ***** up their states, and then when they can't take it anymore, moving to FL and voting blue and ***** that state up.

That’s because the states lack basic services and have low wages.

Where do you live?

Like New Haven or Hartford?

Ya, you’d be smart to never leave there. You won’t make nearly what you make now in Florida.

Hartford.

And yup, have a great job.  If that changes, I'll head down to FL and work part-time in a surgery center down there.

That’s where my goats come in. With goats it’s only like 5k a year. NC is more than that.

If you’re close to NYC, taxes can be 10k year, but by me I think it’s around 7k. It depends where you are.

I used to live in Manchester. Our political consultancy firm was out of there. I hated it at the time. It was so cold!

Don’t leave there. You’ll be sorry.

nah man. I think 5K in NC in a really good suburb in NC is for a 5000sqft house. Jersey is charging 20k/yr in Newark for total dumps. Your data is off. Jersey property taxes are the worst I’ve seen as percentage of property value. Worse than Buffalo which is pretty bad. It’s part of the corrupt local government death cycle.

No. You’re looking at the wrong numbers. The taxes down by Newark and the Oranges are that high because they give you the house for free. It’s a program to get people to move there and fix the area up. You just pay the property tax.

Wow! The way you describe it, It’s indentured servitude .  Forcing people to commit to 2k a month in property tax for awful school districts and dumps they have to fix? I bet it’s one of those fake do gooder programs that really turns out to lead to oppressive unintended consequences.

How jacked up is that state. I’d think being able to leach off of NYC and Philly and a shore would be  a strategic advantage. But it’s like the crappiest run state in the union. I’m surprised those that actually didn’t die from the covid wave didn’t evacuate like it’s a Biden retreat from Afghanistan…  and try to get out…. Maybe…

I live in Morris county which is right where the green meets the red in the northern part. Property taxes aren’t anywhere near 20k, but they might be 12k. Those would be pretty large homes on 1.5 acres. Probably 3k square feet with 2 car garage and deck.

Omg. You need a million dollar home here for a12k/yr property tax here and our schools are tops in the country. What are you paying for?? You don’t even have kids in school and you’re paying 12k/yr in property tax? 😂 😂

The government loves your compliance

But you’re talking about an extra 5k in property taxes to live somewhere nice and you make almost double here. That’s what I’m telling you guys.

Chasing cheap living and property taxes in the south ended 15 years ago. Florida filled up, then everyone went to Tennessee, then Georgia, then NC.

You’re not getting a deal down there, not even in Knoxville Tennessee. Those days are long gone.

Georgia still seems to be the best bang for your buck, as far as the house you get for the money.

Fredrick Maryland is more expensive than here in NJ, by a lot too.

I can’t believe  you pay a thousand dollars a month to fund schools you don’t use in a fringe Amish Jersey outside the dump mahwah town for a 900 sqft ranch with well water.

The smart money is leaving or already did. Get ready for stagnant property values and increasing tax rates.  Hope your goat cheese is picked up by a good chef.

Mahwah is where the Jackson Whites live. That’s like 20 minutes from me.
