You have to stop being so sad. It was a great day. Record day in the markets, infrastructure bills passing.

Joe also told business owners to piss off and pay a living wage. Unemployment and inflation decreasing. The whole premise for this thread is fake.

Great days ahead!

well, as a business owner and my fiance also a business owner, we will be cutting back on employees.  see how that works?

The only true thing you said is that it was a record day in the markets.  Which only helps the rich, like we were told when Trump was President.  The rest is fantasy.

oh, i mean there will be less employees

Yup.  Fewer employees and rising prices.  But on the bright side, many of those you and others get rid of will stop looking for work and make those unemployment numbers look better...

Dems abhor small business.

Too small and numerous to have effective authoritarian regulatory oversight, provide upward mobility, proprietors tend to lack government reliance, harder to corrupt with unions. Small businesses and the ability to start one represent the traditional’land of opportunity’,  ‘American dream’ and is an icon of capitalism.

Small business stands for everything the socialists distain.

If everything is so great why is the government having to hand out money like candy on Halloween?

Probably because your dear leader thought COVID-19 was a hoax and refused to take any meaningful steps to mitigate it before hundreds of thousands of people died and the economy was nearly shattered last year.  That's what started the whole thing.  Now people are used to their Trump Socialism handouts and we have to wean ourselves from such monies.  The free money should have stopped awhile ago.  But you have nobody but Trump to blame for this mess.

Yup.  I do.  You're going to have trouble finding employees if you don't pay a living wage.  See the restaurant industry.  Everyone there is whining because they can't find help.  Guess what!  It turns out that people have decided not to do their crap work on a crap second shift for a crap wage.

I’ve never seen this in my lifetime. Red states took away unemployment and people still refuse to work for less than 15 an hour. Millions are quitting their crappy jobs. It’s pretty amazing.

fascinating, turns out when you print and handout money for doing nothing, people are happy to take it and do nothing. Who ever could have predicted humans are inherently lazy?

it’s Almost as if there needs to be some kind of economic system that incentivizes productivity to keep people engaged and working so they don’t become parasites.

But that’s not what we’re seeing. The added 300/week wasn’t the reason people aren’t returning to work.

Businesses that realized this early on and raised their wages will be the ones that survive. The others will be gone in a year. The floor is now 15/hour and no one is returning to awful restaurant/retail work. Not ever.

People love capitalism when they have an unfair advantage over workers. Once that shifts towards workers ever so slightly, you lose your minds and pretend there’s a labor shortage when it’s about low wages.

It’s time to pay up chompers. Businesses that don’t will be gone, and they’ll be replaced with ones that do. See how that works?

Wage floors are artificial, sort of like most people’s understanding of economics.

since labor is a significant component of cogs, all adding an artificial floor does is inflate the cost of all domestic goods and services, raise the hh income needed to be out of poverty, and undermine competitiveness with lower wage nations who don’t follow suit.

you celebrate progress that guarantees more destitution…

but you know what three say, those who can do….

You’re desperately holding onto a dead ideology. Trickle down failed, and the country has moved on.

The slaves aren’t coming back to anything that pays less than $15.

the irony of this thought process, is the same people that are stomping their feet about white privilege being a systemic problem are the same who are stomping their feet saying they demand their entitled  and privileged existence.

I thank you gov for shining the light on this irony…

It’s a dead ideology is that people pay the lowest price they can? Are you batty?

The reality is, strong states have already put the $15 in place with great results, and we’ll just drag the weak Red states along kicking and screaming like we do with everything else.

Which states are those? Actually name one state with $15 minimum wage and the great results.
