SinceThe70s
One of the two managers the Dodgers had between 1954 and 1996. He succeeded Walter Alston who had a 23 year run (all on one year contracts) and followed that up with a 20 year run of his own. My favorite Lasorda quote: When asked what terms Mexican-born pitching sensation Fernando Valenzuela might settle for in his upcoming contract negotiations: 'He wants Texas back' There's also an unsubstantiated story that he once sent Don Rickles to the mound in his uniform to make a pitching change. RIP. 1

Max Fischer
I don't like the Dodgers but Lasorda was very entertaining.

I've despised the Dodgers for most of my life, but I always liked and respected Lasorda. Without Tommy Lasorda, Mike Piazza (Lasorda's Godson) would have likely never made it to the big leagues, let alone become a Hall of Famer for the Mets.

I completely forgot about that connection. Piazza went from a draft afterthought to the greatest hitting catcher cuz he was Lasorda's godson. So many great Lasorda quotes, but today this one is the most appropriate: “I bleed Dodger blue and when I die, I’m going to the big Dodger in the sky.” 1
US Egg
The A's, Reds, Dodger and Yankee teams of the 70's were the glory days of baseball for me. A couple of owners and managers were in the spotlight as much as players on these great teams. Finley, Anderson, Steinbrenner, Martin and Lasorda were as popular as players during, this, the last great era of baseball, imo.
