@SinceThe70sThis was a tougher one, but doing some quick research, I think it is Ezra Castro, AKA Pancho Billa....

You are correct! Hombre was a hint as to where he was from and the horrible connection was announcing the Harrison Phillips pick on draft night. Unfortunately Pancho wasn't able to be among us to enjoy last weekend.

You're on the board!

Male, alive, from WNY, is an attorney but not the reason for his fame, not a criminal, not a politician, not on TV regularly but is sometimes interviewed or on reality TV....

Musician?  I’m lost here...

His knowledge and experience as a lawyer or something else?

his work as a mergers and acquisitions lawyer helped him become an angel investor....

this is not a super famous person, but hopefully some of you will know him, especially due to him being born in wny.

he is in a "group" that contains about 2100 members world wide

Chris Sacca?

this is correct. the use of mostly lowercase letters is a clue to his firm Lower Case Capital. Have to love billionaires born in Bills country.

Hopefully he was famous enough for this game.

I guess so, you used him and someone guessed him.  Meets the one sure fire requirement.  Or is that two?
