Dogface Greybeard is hot on the trail!

Neither.

Not to go off on a tangent, I considered enlisted as drafted, but I better clarify it.  Drafted?

I thought of a better way to determine that.  What was his rank?

On the right path... But no.

Awe come on! Nope. I said typewriter,  not trombone.

Researching is allowed... From the Midwest,  I go past the road stop named after him every time I go back to BFLo...

A true America hero!

I have to go but I will return, tomorrow.   Game is always better when  more than one are guessing.

A clue to the name of his hometown:  If you replace a vowel with another in a Red Hot Chili Peppers song name, that's his town. But, of course,  it's not in that state... Because I drive thru his home state on the way to and from Upstate, New York.

LOL, I had to look it up. I knew I'd recognize the name, but no way I would've gotten it on my own. Well maybe with this last clue.

That's  okay... It's a name that people remember, well older people... But doesn't jump right out...

I don't mind people researching clues! That's  how we learn!

Okay Hound dogs, are you ready for one! Not gonna be easy, but it's a American.  Dead male, last century.

No complaining... This ain't no weird, off the wall poo... But, sorta obscure today,  but wasn't back then when war was raging...

Probably not, but he was from Indiana.

Really.   "The answer", not the person.  "It's American related" answer, unlike the previous one was French related.  The grammar Nazi strikes! On the internet.  /smh

That has to be the worst clue I have ever seen in any game I have ever played.

If you replaced his grandmas middle name with his third cousins birthday while singing happy birthday on 7th street would he be Americana?

Getting back to current clues:

Dead In the 90s American crappy musician who did some acting.  I’m going to go with Jon Bon Jersey because he is dead to me...I think I first heard him in the 90s so that’s when he was dead to me....he was a crappy musician who did some acting.  Did I get it?

LOL, not JBJ. His musical group  was named after two people not one.

@ExiledInIllinois if you're going to frowny face my critique, the least you could do is fill in the blanks of the Chilli Peppers vowel swap out of state town.  Thanks in advance.

Not known as an actor but did some acting.

No known as an athlete but his death was sports related.

Is car racing a sport?  Not that it has to do with this.

Gee, I am behind a little.  Used notifications and didn't go to the end.

As a sidenote, shouldn’t this be played like 20 questions where everything is yes or a no?

I think this would make it better.
