Whew! It's getting very heated in here again.

I want to take a step back for a minute. An olive branch moment, if we will. I will delete a few recent posts on my own free will.

Miami Dade 'walking back' Corona Deaths to political pressure. Yet a month ago Colorado reeled back it's death count on it's own.

Colorado is a clear swing state.

I noted and provided sources that NYS had thousands of 'Corona Deaths' where the dearly departed were not even tested for COVID,

now people are questioning NYS numbers.

How were senior centers and assisted living centers and their residents affected? How did that affect COVID treatment to those infected?

Did this impact the numbers? What of the human cost?

It is clear that COVID and it's handling has become politicized.

It is also clear that COVID has been monetized, why wouldn't a hospital, limited in what it could do, report inflated COVID numbers to meet payroll?

https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2020/apr/21/facebook-posts/Fact-check-Hospitals-COVID-19-payments/

I work for a University/Hospital system that is facing a 150-300 million dollar shortfall for the last quarter. We have Oncologists/ Cardiologists/ nurses/IT on rotating furloughs due to empty wards. The irony of the whole thing is that government mandated restrictions on services for COVID has decimated the ability (worse than 1 in 10 actually) of medical and support staff available to treat cancer/ heart disease/ kidney disease/ compound fractures etc due to the restrictions on what procedures can and can't be done. It has nearly bankrupted us and has exposed many people to unnecessary risk.

COVID numbers are up, screams the MSM.

What COVID numbers? Infections/ positive tests results as things open up? Or is it hospitalizations in limited resource situations? Or is it COVID deaths? What numbers?

THE NEWS IS SUPPOSED TO EDUCATE. Not fear monger, or cover things up. When societal issues arise the media is supposed to help frame and define the issue and provide facts so adults can decide things on facts.

It's almost impossible to get through the noise to get to facts any more. And we are tearing each other apart for it.

WE ARE ALL LOSING

One source says COVID numbers among minorities is higher because of racism, then a city tells black folks to stop wearing masks for 'inherent racism'

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Let's start with a simple question. One that our law makers and political leaders need to define, and we as citizens must demand that it is defined.

What is a COVID death?

What is a COVID infecton?

What is a COVID Hospitalization ?

What is a COVID death?

After that that, if a COVID number is going up, what COVID number? Where is it happening? Put it into perspective.

Let's speak the same language, adjust the numbers to tell the truth, and then figure out as rational adults what needs to be done.

transparency is not high on the agenda

which is why there is zero coverage of recoveries and evaluation of treatments actually being used

could be the increase in cases is meaningless as hospital are now administering effectively treatments

Let's see here.

Option A)  We can't go back in the past

Option B)  Schools aren't open

Option C) Schools will be open in a couple months

Through process of elimination, Option A and B aren't an option.

So that leaves us with

Drum roll,  please..............

Option C)  When the schools open back up.

Gene, this wasn't too hard to conclude.   You're slippin

Yes, we should probably send the kids back in September, around three months from now. Good point. Timely even.

Yesterday, Tuesday, we saw another low death count across the country where once again there were no states in triple digits and only California and Florida reporting over 50 Covid fatalities. As has become the new normal, half of the country was in single digits with approximately 15 states reporting ZERO deaths. As many have been stating the CASE increases have been in the warmer, southern states of CA, AZ, TX and FL but I wouldn’t draw political conclusions from those increases as many are since CA is about as left wing as any place in the nation. With death counts plummeting even in those southern states it seems clear something has happened to the virus itself.

Death counts are not plummeting in CA, AZ, TX, and FL. Look at the graphs.

Warren, the death count hasn’t spiked in these states. If you read my daily reports, which I know you do, you’d see that. The death rate in ALL of those states is less 1/10 of what it was/is in NY. For example, in California, almost all of the deaths are in Los Angeles County. The huge metro area of SF/OAK has seen virtually no deaths at all from the very beginning.

You said death rates in those states are plummeting. They are not.

The COUNT is plummeting across the nation as a whole and if you factor in the increased numbers of cases in the states mentioned then yes the RATE is also plummeting big time!

Death counts can't plummet since they were never very high in those states

The 7 day average of daily deaths in Florida never exceeded 50 people for the whole state

now its about 35- some spike

The fear porn is just ridiculous

Why are deaths still down?  Inquiring minds would like to know.

  • Better treatments?
  • Vitamin D levels are up at this time of the year?
  • Virus is mutating to a weaker version of itself?
  • Red states are just better than blue states?
  • Fake numbers and the stacks of dead bodies get fed to the gators down yonder?
