We have Oncologists/ Cardiologists/ nurses/IT on rotating furloughs due to empty wards. The irony of the whole thing is that government mandated restrictions on services for COVID has decimated the ability (worse than 1 in 10 actually) of medical and support staff available to treat cancer/ heart disease/ kidney disease/ compound fractures etc due to the restrictions on what procedures can and can't be done. It has nearly bankrupted us and has exposed many people to unnecessary risk. COVID numbers are up, screams the MSM. What COVID numbers? Infections/ positive tests results as things open up? Or is it hospitalizations in limited resource situations? Or is it COVID deaths? What numbers? THE NEWS IS SUPPOSED TO EDUCATE. Not fear monger, or cover things up. When societal issues arise the media is supposed to help frame and define the issue and provide facts so adults can decide things on facts. It's almost impossible to get through the noise to get to facts any more. And we are tearing each other apart for it. WE ARE ALL LOSING One source says COVID numbers among minorities is higher because of racism, then a city tells black folks to stop wearing masks for 'inherent racism' ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Let's start with a simple question. One that our law makers and political leaders need to define, and we as citizens must demand that it is defined. What is a COVID death? What is a COVID infecton? What is a COVID Hospitalization ? What is a COVID death? After that that, if a COVID number is going up, what COVID number? Where is it happening? Put it into perspective. SoCal Deek Posted June 24, 2020 Share Posted June 24, 2020 Yesterday, Tuesday, we saw another low death count across the country where once again there were no states in triple digits and only California and Florida reporting over 50 Covid fatalities. As has become the new normal, half of the country was in single digits with approximately 15 states reporting ZERO deaths. As many have been stating the CASE increases have been in the warmer, southern states of CA, AZ, TX and FL but I wouldn’t draw political conclusions from those increases as many are since CA is about as left wing as any place in the nation. Warren, the death count hasn’t spiked in these states. If you read my daily reports, which I know you do, you’d see that. The death rate in ALL of those states is less 1/10 of what it was/is in NY. For example, in California, almost all of the deaths are in Los Angeles County.
